DEALERSHIP IS SHADY, USES PRESSURE TECHNIQUES, PROVIDES WRONG INFORMATION AT SALE, GOES BACK ON WORD TO PROVIDE CUSTOMER WITH MONEY TO PAY FOR CAR REGISTRATION, AND MANAGEMENT WILL NOT RETURN CALLS! Went with son to purchase his first car. Dealer knew the used car we wanted was a good deal. So they kept changing terms and required down payment amounts. Dealer said they would pay for our MD car registration as part of the sale but gave us the wrong information on how they would send the check. We called to confirm the process, but when it was time for them to send the check (approx $150), they gave us the runaround again and said they wouldn't send any money. How is this possible??? I would not recommend this dealership to anyone! Unfortunately I had JENN as the sales person! Things started out well but ended up ugly, very ugly! Promises were made, then not delivered according to the agreement! Chip, the so called manager fought me tooth and nail not to deliver on the original verbal sales agreement! After threatening a lawsuit and going over the peons heads finally after weeks of arguing and frustration got what was originally promised prior to sale! These people are not to be trusted! Nothing good to say about this place or any of the people here that represent the dealership! It takes more than a tight fitting pair of pants to be a good salesperson! I had the best the experience of purchasing cars at Thornton Automotive. Cliff Baer and his team helped me out and he was a straight shooter. He and his team were very professional and knowledgeable and explained and answered questions in great details. He gave me a great deal for my car and the buying was quick. I only spent a max of 2 hours (1 hour inspecting and driving the car and working with the finance department was not painful), these guys didn't play games and are all very straight forward. I will say all of the staff were pleasant and friendly. I understand car I bought was as is, but it was a piece of junk that should not have been sold. Car did not start the day after buying, because of an electrical draw killing battery, heater core needed replaced and radiator was bad. I know it was as is, but this was as is junk. The car is literally falling apart, day by day! read more

My experiences with Thornton Chevrolet in Manchester have been negative. I purchased a used vehicle and had some repairs that were needed. There was a rattle early on. The service department did not want to put the time and effort into diagnosing this problem. There was no follow up service or desire to stand behind their product.
