I'm still keeping my 5 star review. We used to come here as a kid. My mom got us the family card member in Christmas of 2019, but we all know what happened in 2020. We rented out the cabin with a loft. It was doable. Obviously, we are camping, so don't expect a pristine cabin. But it was fairly clean. I would only suggest that they include a vacuum cleaner so we can vacuum the upstairs loft one more time. They say not to put the A.C below 72. We went in a very muggy, hot time in PA. So we kept the windows closed to keep temperature down. Wifi is not included. You have to pay for it. Service with tmobile is spotty. T.v also only has local channels. Perhaps bring your firestick. Hey look, at the end of the day, we were either at Hershey Park, or at the pool at the campground, so it didn't really matter. Don't forget to bring fishing pole too. Lots of big fish in the lake there The cabin came with firepit, which also served as a grill. I suggest taking a ride to lancaster market, or visiting any of the produce/meat farms with a sign and using that grill. Corn and vegetables and meat were phenomenal. You are in farmers country. For breakfast? Easy. Check out a local breakfast place called the filling Station. My review sticks on that place from two years ago. To the owners, a few things that stuck out for us that may make the experience better for others: 1) a little more activities for the kid. I know.COVID really.screwed things up, but you did a slip and slide last time and it was great. Maybe have a pool game for the kids too. 2) restrooms seem to need updating. Light is dim. 3) maybe have a campground BBQ on weekends. 4) maybe not enough rentals, but bike rentals could be great. Can't wait to go back. read more

We are not 'members' of Thousand Trails. The campground is located in the most beautiful setting and it's hilly. We have a 40' RV and were told to find a spot in the H loop. Okay, no assigned spots. We backed into a spot and couldn't level our rig. Finally went back to the check in and he clarified we could take any spot. Okay, found a pull thru in the C loop. No dog park, they charge for wifi and they charge for a guest to come visit. The place isn't cheap and they nickel and dime you? We are members of TT and stayed for Labor Day weekend. When I checked in, an employee became visibly agitated when I explained my partner had driven our motorhome into the park and I needed the vehicle pass. He refused to give me a pass, saying my pass was in the packet (note: it was not). We travel with our dogs and have a 40" fence that we put around our site to keep others out of our space. We were told "don't even bother putting up a fence" because, while it's not in writing, an employee said no fences over 24". The pool required reservations but only for 90 mins at a time. The rules are not the same for everyone. If you're over 50, you're spoken to like you're a moron. If you're under 50, you're treated like you're a suspect in a potential crime. Employees have no problem cursing at patrons. "People don't know how to turn off their goddamn lights at night". The pro is that this is a beautifully landscaped campground and aside from the patrons who like to let their dogs into the field, off leash, to do their business and not clean it up, it's a nice place to go for long walks. read more

Super spacious location. This resort offers a hugs amount of full hook up sites. Great scenery and plenty of things to do with the kids. There's a lake, basketball courts, swimming pool, game room and much more. This is the best RV resort I've been to this far. read more

Very nice park overall. Sites were big and level enough. We had spot h59 which had a great view of the pond. Unfortunately we had a cascade of people walking through our site because it was a shortcut to the pond and pool. After an exhausting attempt to get a park ranger to talk to the neighbors to stop walking through and their kids racing their bikes through they took care of it. However when they left other did the same thing. So if you want that spot expect people to walk through your campsite. We were warned to put our starlink dish on the gravel instead of the grass so we moved it but when we asked why the camper that was next to us allowed to have their camper parked on the grass, their outside rug on the grass and their canopy on the grass the ranger said that he was provided the list from the manager and they were not on the list. So in a nutshell, they pick on some but not all. Left a bad taste in my mouth. We would come back but be aware that they enforce rules but not with all. read more

This was not only our first camping trip as a family, but the first in our new camper. We are new to owning a travel trailer and were very worried about our first trip. This was a beautiful RV park, very well maintained, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was beautiful, immaculate and well kept, the general store had plenty for sale and well stocked, the roads were wide and easy to navigate for my trailer. Only complaint is the grading on the upper left of the map is a bit challenging and was tough for me to level so had to pick another spot read more

Stayed there a few weeks ago and the permanent sites are trashy looking and because of all the golf carts the electric to the park is bad.

Ok well where to start...nice place, buuuut many pros and cons for a place they consider one of their best campgrounds. Let me lend a helping opinion. 1. Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, that's first and foremost. I can't say much on whoever is management above them but the local staff are wonderful. Think local staff could benefit so much more if they were capable of running on their own. Management/owners need to listen to their clientele. (Greatly)!!!!!! 2. It's clean in the way of campsites and family center, pool, camp store, and main driving areas. 3. The lake is something to be desired. Although it is beautiful, nobody cleans the trash collecting on the sides and the weeds are heavy for fishing purposes. It would greatly benefit from daily cleanup and maybe more canoes for use by campers. Benches to sit on the sides would be nice and at night it would be great for floating lit lights/flowers. Not too much $ but would make great visual appeal for walkers. More action. There are only 2 canoes for use, which you sign out and use at your own risk. You can bring your own kayak or canoe to use as well. They do stock with fish, but whole time we stayed we caught zero fishes. Would be even better if the lake was used for swimming as well. Even a small area roped off near the family center area would add such a nice touch. 4. The family center Pros...Books, toys, pool table, ping pong, area to watch tv, fireplace, a movie night, nice clean bathrooms, literature area and so forth. Cons...not enough activities in way of campgrounds go. Could do more fun kid games/crafts/interactive time with other campers. (Ideas)...adult game night, family game night, trivia, adult and family dances weekly on Saturday night with live entertainment. Plenty of local talent that is cheap enough to supply this campground. Do a weekly kid challenge. There could be weekly fitness times. I'm sure a camper or two are certified and willing to help with a small donation or something. Bingo!!! Bring it back please!!!! 5. Saturday morning breakfasts which are low cost and very tasteful. Nice touch. Would be better if you could take outside to pool area to sit by water. Or even table lakeside to have lake front breakfast. But overall a very nice way to intermingle with other campers. 6. There's a large pavilion by the lake that is scarcely used. This could be a neat place for a nightly teen activity or game. Even make for a good theme night on Fridays for a live band. 7. The pool is beautiful and big. Why not utilize it more and entertain the crowd. Saturday nights have tiki torches lit around the pool (even solar powered if fire is an issue), could have a poolside DJ who does the karaoke rather that a tv that runs itself and can barely hear the kids who do sing from what is available. Do games from 6-8, like the limbo, conga line, fun line dances. Make it open later so adults can enjoy. 10 or 11. Or 9-11 adults only party or theme poolside night. On Sundays hold family pool games after church hours. Or a family weekly potluck BBQ in the afternoon. 8. The general store needs longer hours. Most families enjoy ice cream later in eve. They close the store at 7 and that's it. Nothing more. Even if it stayed open in just the ice cream area. Enough to have that option. 9. The mini golf is a cool addition because it is a full 18 holes. The downside it's over weeded, leaves everywhere, bushes overgrown and very dull in way of looks. Why not brighten up with some fun colored paints and even some miniature creatures or a candy land theme. It is the Hershey area. Play off of it. Make it like a candy filled golf area. 10. Overall the campground has a lot to be thankful for, however, if management spent a little more time here or listening to the campers I think this place could be amazing. 11. My expectations from the website lead me to believe one thing and it could have met them with a little effort on the campground's management team. If they ever see this I'd be more than willing to help with the efforts. Maybe assist the activity team in some activities and event planning. 12. 3 stars because there's much room for improvement in the way of fun and activities for all ages. read more

This is one of the nicer Thousand Trails parks we've been too. The staff really seem to care about guests and members. We have truly enjoyed our stay and will be looking forward to staying again. Only downside I can think of is that most sites aren't level (but that's pretty average). The pool is super clean, the store well kept and stocked, and the kitchen/restaurant serves a great breakfast. read more

New management is too worried about micromanagement. Apparently my dog fence around my rug is too tall as they now require no higher than 24 inches. I travel with 3 big Labradors and they could jump 24 inches. I could understand if it was ruining the grass. The policies are new as we have stayed here many times over the years. However the website has no mention of the policy. I won't be back! read more

Hersey RV now Thousand Trails Campground. This is a time share type park. They will try to sell you memberships. Nice park, dated. Bathrooms 3 star. Good water pressure, must continually push button to get water, no fans, no air gets hot and humid. There are exhaust fans but none work. All gravel roads and parking areas. Young lady showed us to spot VERY nice. They warn on handouts about power loses and not to keep dogs in RV. We did lose power for several hours, went on generator (be prepared if your furbabies in RV). We were in 30' TT and had adequate space. Lots close together. Do not miss Strasburg Train ride and museum, well worth the 45 min drive. read more

We recently stayed here again. The area is my favorite. Sites are nice, most with green grass. We had a fire pit but no grill. It was quiet in the section we were at but that has to do with neighbors and could change at any point. We were lucky to be near seasonal sites not being used during the time we were there. The bathhouse was very clean, but outdated. It was very dark at night with poor lighting inside. Staff was amazing! We actually needed assistance before we arrived. We tried the ranger number, even left a message. I called the store and they were able to get me in touch with the ranger quickly. When the staff are amazing it really does help overlook some of the not so amazing. Like the pool hours. Open later and close early then most. The lake is a bit dirty but we constantly saw people fishing. I'll definitely be back. Very close to Hershey and Lancaster. Don't miss getting Tom Sturgis pretzels in Lititz. We never miss getting our soft pretzels and eating them on the park. Hilltop Acres Farm Market is a must also! We get the biggest cheese we can and the milk is the best! read more

We're TTN members and really like this park. The staff are very pleasant and go out of their way to help or direct you. The park is well maintained and the sites are very spacious. Advertised as a resort-type campground, it doesn't quite hit the mark. There ARE plenty of amenities, but it's hard to know what's what and the staff doesn't provide a lot of guidance or assistance. Unless you're one of the lucky people to get a spot in the "oh, that filled up months ago!" section of the campground, then you'll be a long walk from anything. Was really surprised that I should "drive around and pick an open site" when I got there. Bathrooms were clean but needed updating. The sites (at least the ones we saw) are generally wide open, level enough, and have nice hookups. There's pretty good spacing between sites and a nice feel for personal space. I bought firewood: it was FAR from being dry and I ended up having a smokeout at my campsite instead of a fire. When I pay for wood, I expect dry wood. There's a great Mennonite Grocery Store close to the site, and there are small towns nearby with good food, movies, etc. if you want to save a trip into Hershey. The campsite is about 15 minutes from Hershey--an easy drive--and was nice and quiet without us feeling like we couldn't have a good time, play music etc. read more

PA Gas Pipeline cut right through part of Hershey Thousand Trails park this summer. Work started in May with clearing a big path of trees through the campground, and all season from June till even now, and most likely through very end of season (when ends at this campground late October) campers have had to deal with noise, mess, and heavy equipment 6-7 days a week. Even though we prepaid for an expensive annual spot long before this started, we had not been given due notice and options. We have skipped most weekends this summer at the campground due to this. A second pipeline is coming through also. Management had been uncommunicative, unresponsive and negligent with annual members impacted. I am very disappointed. The area looks run down, it looks like it is out of the 1980's. Our space is nowhere near level and the Internet is worthless. This place is expensive and sadly not worth it. Although the pool is awesome it is not heated. Although the pond in the photos looked great, it was full of algae. The sites are nice and spacious. There are hundreds of geese that roam free, so goose poop everywhere....The general store serves Hershey hand dip ice cream and they have a hot tub. If you aren't a fan of amusement parks, do buy a ticket to do the historic Hershey town tour. Very worth while. Also the butterfly arboretum very nice. There is also two levels of antique cars at the car museum that was awesome. read more

My family and I have been at the Hershey campground several times. We have always enjoyed it and were very pleased, but we were very disappointed when we visited in May 2017, just a few weeks after the parked opened for the season. Many of the roads around the campground were not restoned and there were many holes throughout. Also, the bathhouse in the B loop was closed for renovation (which is great but why wasn't this done during the off season?). Also, the miniture gold course has a wonderful setting but needs improvement, as balls get stuck in some of the holes. While the campground itself is beautiful, there is much work to be done. read more

WOW I have traveled all over the country camping. I've never made reservations for 2 campers and showed up at the campground and been told. "Go pick your site". We showed up at about 4pm after driving all day with 2 small kids. We were lucky to find 2 decent sites never mine close to each other. Disappointing part was the women on the phone when reservations were made said " you won't have a problem with two sites together". Our site was backwards, our table and fire pit were on the same side as our electric and you guessed it out POOP! When we questioned the employees at the security gate we were literally laughed at. After explaining to them we didn't find it very funny, we didn't receive an apology we just got more laughs and "talk to management". We will NOT be back to this campground. I'm only leaving two stars because my son likes the playground. read more
