Yes, their is a widescreen TV, but as a community village you would expect this. No SKY anymore - I believe due to cost. But Ian and Dawn are trying hard now they can concentrate on the one pub. At one stage they had three - so busy busy busy! They've put in a real fire which will welcome everyone on cold days and dark nights, and are improving the outside smoking area at the back, so hopefully you wont have to run the gauntlet just to get to the front door! Their garden is lovely at the moment and are putting in a childrens play area as well as the bouncy castle which certainly welcomes the family's. Live music is not on the scene anymore though there are plans for a jazz night. The pub is well placed for celebrations and weddings and their new inhouse disco as well at the Hogroast and BBQ does attract a lot of these events. With Dawn cooking full time now, there has certainly been a change in standard and consistency and with their £6 menu options both lunch and dinner - there is something for everyone. Try the Carvery on a Wednesday which is only £6 - and if you're a pensioner you get a free coffee as well! The Sunday Carvery is well attended and booking is required as it is so well supported. The pub does a lot of good - raising money for local and national charities - to a total of around £15,000 since they have been there. Try it out - everyone should have a second chance!! read more
