Each location is a bit different, but they're all reminiscent of a vintage college library in the best way. It's the perfect setting for a productive day. There are five Switchyards locations in Nashville, and I believe this is the OG (but please correct me if I'm wrong). I do think Eastwood is my favorite of the bunch, and it's because of all the natural light. It's also right next to The Yellow Table Café, which is the perfect spot for a light lunch in between meetings. Butterlamp is also nearby, if you're in need of a glass of wine after a long day at the "office." Memberships are $100 a month, and that includes 24/7 access to all Switchyards locations ... along with all the coffee and Stroopwaffels you care to enjoy. It's comfortable, convenient, and affordable ... everything a co-working space should be!

This is my favorite switchyards location. The problem? It's everyone else's too. This place seems…read moreto always be busy and the parking here is rough. So many cool hidey holes and places to get your work done ( may I suggest the southwest upstairs heads down room?!) the tea and coffee always hit hard and when this place is empty is really one of the coolest spots in Nashville. This place screams what I think East Nashville thinks it is- purposeful gentrification. They have done beautifully at renovating and repurposing the old church into a space where people can meet and connect and get work done. I've gone multiple times and not been able to find anywhere to sit so for that it loses a star BUT no one's perfect, this location makes your membership feel worth every penny

If you're one of the ever-increasing number of young entrepreneurial folks who are starting to make the Music City your home, get in line and nab some space at your new spot for working during the week and hosting meetings. Don't get me wrong, coffee shops still have their time and place but a coffee shop's primary purpose is to serve coffee and allow folks to hang out. Having a meeting or trying to get work done is a nice byproduct but you're as likely to annoy coffee shop patrons with your jibber jabber and not be able to discuss the sensitive information that tends to come up in business meetings. You need an office. But you don't need an office every day. You need a co-working space. Deavor might be what you need. Set on the border between Downtown and Germantown, the contemporary loft space is quite convenient to a good chunk of the city. With ample parking in the parking lot, you won't have to hunt down street parking or worry about permits. Once you enter, you get to check out the high ceilings, cool tables and interesting space/design of your home away from home. The private meeting rooms make having sensitive conversations easy as well as impressing your meeting partners with your savvy. If you're just looking for work space, the long wooden tables and comfy office swizzle chairs have you covered. And, if you just have to satisfy that coffee itch, you'll be happy to know that there's a big azz coffee machine with cups. There might even be a kegerator but you didn't hear that from me. There's also event space, security (you can't just walk in/out of the space), water, break room, printing/copying, and the all-important wifi. So, how can all this be yours? Membership. As stated above, you can't just walk in/out of Deavor. You need to have a membership. Membership operates on three levels -- from the casual to the new business. The space offers tours so that you can check out how it best suits your needs. I don't know that I could ever give up working from home but if I needed the formality of a co-working space, Deavor would be a nice home. Until then, I am more than happy to be the invited guest of members.

To the untrained eye, WELD may seem like a WeWork, but it's so much more. It is slightly more expensive than WeWork for a space, but here are the benefits: 1) A creative community- The people who make up WELD are some of the most creative people in Nashville. You have a famous podcaster, a personality test tech company, a photographer, and so many more people creating beauty out of ashes. It's an inspiring place to be and you can bounce ideas off of these smart minds. 2) Free studio- There's a giant white room that you can use for free if you're a member for photo shoots and/or video shoots. WeWork doesn't offer that! 3) The space- It's beautiful and in an up and coming part of town. They converted shipping containers into office space. 4) Free coffee- It's from CREMA and it's good. Even as WeWork moves into Nashville, WELD is the place to be if you're a creative and need a space to work.

There's a community "kitchen" complete with fridge, microwave, sink, etc. Weld offers an open environment for group work as well as individual spaces.
