We found this place online. It didn't look like this place was in the best of area but still went. There was small parking lot but we parked right in front. This place was surprisingly very big. The place was very well organized. Everything was by size and color. There was very great finds here. I found a north face shirt for $6. I also found some Nike shorts. Will start off by saying it's not in the best of areas. However, I have personally never had an issue feeling unsafe while in there and I am always sure to park right in front of the store. There is also a security guard always stationed and occasionally I see police patrolling as well. Many of the workers don't speak English but they are always very nice. They tend to get a good selection of name brand items in. Pricing is ALL over the place. Sometimes I find hidden gems priced at $2-$5 and crappy store brands at $15. There's no rhyme or reason and definitely depends on who's doing the tagging and what they deem the item/brand is worth. I usually only shop for the color tags that are discounted. If you download their app, Sundays is always an extra 25% off the non discounted color tagged items. They occasionally do one day sales for 50% off storewide as well. Overall, worth a trip. I tend to stop in weekly & usually always find something! read more

I have been shopping here for years. Until...I accidentally left a bag there that I had purchased. I called the store and described the bag to them. They told me to ask an associate and they would put it in the front office. I went the next day and asked a gentleman. He spoke with a lady who worked there in Spanish. She spoke with him for a long time. Then he walked away from her and went into the office. He came out emptyhanded. He then walked to the back of the store and came up to me and told me they found nothing. One of the items was a set of sheets for my dad. Has a large selection of used items most are clean and very reasonable prices (According to used). Not overly outrageous prices like Goodwill or Salvation Army. I discovered Thrift Giant when I moved to Dallas this summer. Loved it! Constant sales, good quality items, and super cheap electronics and houseware items. That was probably July. Now we're in October. I've began fixing up items for resale, and at first the profit margin was wonderful because everything was so cheap. Well, now.... The prices are insane. Even when I'm going in there and just looking for clothes for work, I dread it. Today, I was looking through the jackets so I could find a cheap one from Walmart to use for practice with my Cricut. But their prices are higher than walmart's on walmart brand items! Sherpa jacket was priced at $19.81 and on Walmart's website, the sherpa's are $15.96. I thought the point of thrift stores was to offer inexpensive clothing options to the lower income population. I can afford going to a store and getting a new outfit - but I'm a full time student, pay my own way, work full time, and have already began paying down my student loan debt. My income doesn't say I'm low income but damn, after bills I am! It's nice to find business casual clothing for reasonable prices... Unfortunately, you can no longer do this at thrift giant. You're better off shopping at TJMaxx - seriously, most of the stuff that has Marshall's tags on it & TG are listed ABOVE what it was sold for, they base it on the original retail value! (When you have proof someone bought it for lower????) I just don't get this. My girls and I stumbled upon this thrift store while out on Labor Day and I could not be happier we did!! The store is clean, big, and organized by size, and type of wear. Plus it was easy to maneuver up and down the isles with a shopping cart. In my opinion prices are better than reasonable and for the holiday everything was 50%off!!! We weren't planning on buying anything and certainly not looking for anything in particular but we managed to roll up to the counter with a shopping cart full of random things and the bill was only $14 bucks?!! I'm talking dresses, sweatshirts, bottoms..even a very cool book for ONE DOLLAR that I just found on Amazon for $65!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only downside- the fitting rooms were locked for the big sale. This is NOT a thrift store, this is a high priced resale shop. You will routinely find well used jeans that they sale at Kohls priced here for $20-40, shoes are outrageously priced. They never have any of the sale tags in stock and their 50% off holidays are so crowded that you will literally have to fight to find anything. Okay, this Thrift Giant location is good for: A.) Semi remarkable junk, at an OK price. B.) Taking advantage of the 50% off days, which include, a sometimes decent furniture section, and a somewhat OK electronics section. With that said, I have found some good articles of clothing. All of their stock is ticketed with the old school china marker/stapled tag system, which, in my opinion, damages clothing. This store caters strictly to latino market. The intercom is constantly announcing the sale of the day or any upcoming sale. The intercom is very loud. It will annoy you. Overall, the selection is 88% mediocre, despite their claim that they receive "5,000 NEW ITEMS EVERY DAY!" With that said, this store does have a large selection of men and women's shoes. 60% of the floor space is women's clothing and accessories. 30% men's clothing, and 10% housewares. Now, be advised that this is one of those stores that has a quirky pricing system - if you find something that has perceived "value" the tag will obviously be priced to their idea of what it's worth. This store is in Harry Hines, it's in the seediest area, so just be prepared if you have a short tolerance for neighborhoods outside of your comfort zone. read more

Holy Guacamole. I have found the mother load! Thrift Giant is just that, a giant thrift store that I like to call my happy place. There is something therapeutic about perusing the aisles and finding that one (or cart full) of things you just HAVE TO HAVE. I admit it, I have a thrifting problem. But really, is that such a bad thing?! This store has a kickass clothes selection and on any given day certain colored tags are 25-75% off. I have found so many awesome things here I cant even begin to list them. The location is shoddy, but that's only adds to its charm in my eyes. She began telling me about this place & I've loved her clothing choices found at Thrift Giant. I've recently moved from a loft to a house & needed linens for 3 bedrooms as well as other small items. When I noticed the color codes for pricing, I thought .....I've hit the mother lode!! I spent $76 & came home with quite a load of bargains. Awesome high thread count sheets, designer pictures, housewares, curtains, mattress covers, pet bed, etc. I would have spent this on 1 set of king sheets for my bed alone. Yes, I'm addicted to thrift stores too, but......when I can purchase quality items at a fraction of a cost......why wouldn't I????? As with other thrift stores, there are color codes for certain days. On certain holidays, like today, the entire store is 50% off. Be prepared is the motto for shopping here. Even though this is a great stop on the thrifting highway, it's a bit dirty, crowded and lots of kids running around (not the fault of the store). I have found insane deals here on top brands but I earned them proudly. Keeping up my pace, walking the aisles, searching the racks and shelves. Getting the fair priced items only double check for daily tag specials. Get a VIP card and shop Sundays for discounts. Holidays usually bring saving events as well. No bathrooms as far as I can tell but they have dressing rooms. With a five item limit (I think), last time we were in the rooms were closed since a little boy peed all over the floor of two stalls and someone was preparing to clean them. Parking is Horrible, its a tight fit if everyone parks correctly and if it rains the lot does retain many puddles. The place is a thrift store and they seem to try to keep up with put backs and such but with so many customers I can clearly see how it gets dirty and disarray. This is my go-to thrift store in Dallas. If you have the time to go through each aisle, you will ABSOLUTELY find some great deals. I follow them on FB to make sure I get the updates on the various discount days, but they seriously have discounts 7 days out of the week. Shoe section is okay, but I have found a few new shoes in the bunch on an odd day. Not the best for housewares in my opinion. I've found other stores in the DFW area that are better for that. The staff was very friendly and available to assist when needed. If you are not careful you could easily spend a few hours lost in the aisles without knowing it. This was not even half off the original price and this skirt had to be a good 5 years old. Did see a sweet purple snake skin jacket tho... I was really looking forward going here while I was trying in Dallas. I've been going to thrift stores recently for some projects and have been amazed at what you can find! My daughters have enjoyed coming with me now too. From the moment I walked in there was this terrible smell. I would say it smelled like stinky feet. I tried to just let it pass as I immediately say a few things that did catch my eye. Their layout was different from most and anything that wasn't clothing had price put on it almost in a crayon like pencil. It was very difficult to know what the actual price was because some of the writing was so bad you couldn't read it. I could get over those issues but what came as a complete shock to me were the prices!! Way way overpriced!!! Higher than any other thrift store I've been to in DFW. This has been my 6th. So if you are coming to this area I would put this one on the bottom of you list and only go if you have the time. They do have the color sales like everyone else but even then I wasn't blown away and maybe it wasn't my day because not one thing I picked up had any of the 3 colors on sale! read more

Five star!!! This store is packed with good brand goodies!!! Scored two Kate Spades, 2 coaches, Michael Kors boots and a lot more, yes you pay up for high end brands but still it's great deal compare if you buy them on eBay, found a lot of cute very stylish skirts dresses pants and jackets, they run specials on tags, Thursday's are everything half off , will have to come back. Still some bargains on everyday items, but you are way better off at Goodwill for those. Get your act together Thrift Giant!!. Pros If you are willing to search and I'm talking 2-4 hours at this store you can find some reasonably priced items. I feel this applies to the majority of thrift shops. Cons The area is sketchy, hold your purse tight. Cashiers, stockers, shoppers speak 100% in Spanish. I asked 2 different employees what the price was on something they had no clue what I was saying. They had dressing rooms but for some reason they were all closed. The pricing strategy was super bizarre. I've gone once, so far, and there seemed to be decent selection on what I was looking for. I perused the men's clothing and shoes and got me some shorts and a pair of sandals. For men's shoes, the quality of 'used' was very impressive in my opinion... Also, there seems to be mixed reviews on this place and I can understand why. The location is in a specific side of town and the employees there don't speak English as their first language. So, don't expect to get too many questions answered unless you speak Spanish. The two items I purchased, I tried them on (the dressing rooms were open at that moment) and went to the cash register. I got the bare amount of customer service, but I'm not bitching about it. I really LOVE this place. I found this place by accident one day while driving on Harry Hines looking for fabrics stores. I literally always have what I call a "thrift store" Christmas on each and every visit. I purchase a lot of work clothes and knick knacks for my home. On the very first visit I nearly fell out laughing because a woman who I presume was the owner, got on the loudspeaker and gave what I think was the longest and funniest "watch your kids" message that have I ever heard! It literally lasted for two minutes and THEN the cashier chick gave the same message in Spanish! It was hilarious!! Every time I visit it never fails, someone gets on the loudspeaker every 30 minutes or so to administer the "watch your kids" message. The only reason that I did not give the place a 5 is because I had an incident with a cashier/fitting room attendant who asked me if I was planning on buying everything I wanted to try on, which I thought was quite rude..I looked at her with my "don't try it" look and said "Maybe" and she opened the fitting room door... Nonetheless, this place is highly recommended.. They have an abundance of reasonably priced clothes, name brand and not so name brand. I've purchased some Ann Taylor , Dana Buchman, Michael by Michael Kors, and a host of other great pieces! read more

When I thrift shop, I look for name brands at cheap prices. I've been to this store twice and have yet to find any luxury name brands, I don't even see the usual Banana Republic or Abercrombie. This place is about on par with most thrift stores as far as selection. I will start with the positives. It's a pretty big store. Clothing is priced very fairly for a thrift store. Their shoes are actually cheaper than any thrift store I've been to. In the future, I think I'll be coming here for shoes, only if I just happen to be in the neighborhood though. Which leads me to the negative part of my review. For as big as this place is, they could at least have a rest room. I wasn't able to browse as long as I wanted to because I had to use a bath room. I had to get in my car and drive down the street to a bathroom! By the way, the 7 Eleven and Shell gas station bathrooms (near Walnut Hill) are "out of order". Try the motel lobby bathroom next door to the Shell... But I digress. This place is just ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. read more

Sure enough they were having their Easter Sale, everything was 50%off! My teen daughter found lots of tops, I scored big for my baby daughter, lots & lots of vintage gymboree items which is my latest obsession. I give this place a 4 star rating only because they didn't have the fitting rooms open. I can only imagine the mess if they were open. Considering the big sale the place was in very decent condition, employees were working hard to get new items on the shelves & racks. I absolutely love this store. If you have the time then I definitely recommend you shop here. Yes it is cluttered but the staff does a good job and trying to keep things organized. The clothes are a mix of name brand and non name brand. For the most part they are in very good shape. Each day they have different sales going on. Some tag colors are 25% off, 50% off or even 75% off. Just depends on the day what deal you get. The only downside for me is that the shoes aren't organized at all. You have to really look at them and try to find the match wherever it maybe in the store. If you like thrifting and getting amazing deals then I highly recommend coming here and checking it out. Thrift Giant has definitely become my go to when I'm on a thrifty mission and this one has topped my list. The prices and selection keep me happy and the daily sales keep me itching to return. I have come home with bundles of amazing brand name deals and almost expected to be followed by the cops for getting it all at such a steal! They even have VIP cards (apps) that give you an automatic 20% off of everything every Sunday. Holiday weekends give you 50% off of EVERYTHING in the store and I cannot resist a top brand new quality dress for $2! It's like they're begging for me to shop Thrift Giant. This thrift shop is quite large. Clothes are organized by size. I was not looking for clothes but a Dallas Stars jacket caught my eye and went home with me. House items are always a bit disorganized so be prepared to dig. They could sell so much more with better organization and shelf maintenance. Watch out for items with no price tag. The staff is not able to price it. They say a special person must do that. I understand the reason for this so I requested they call me the next day once it was priced, so I could decide if it was worth it and return to purchase. They said I would just have to return and see if it was on the shelf. Very unhelpful since I had just found a perfect gift for my friend. Had to look elsewhere. If you see stuff without prices, and I saw quite a bit, do everyone a favor and give it to a staff member. Maybe then we can all find items with prices. Goes back to poor shelf maintenance.
