Really disappointed in this location. They used to be the best location in the area and then they got really weird about people coming in with purses. I had medication in my purse due to a recent surgery and they bombarded me asking to hold it and I said no. They then kept coming up to me until I put my purse back in my car which made me super uncomfortable. Service was poor and the prices here keep going up. Why is a pair of torn and stained shorts priced at $12??? I used to come here for the decent prices and good vibes, that's not the case here anymore. read more

This place is huge, and so much fun to shop in!! I came in with friends on their half off sale for national thrift shop day, and we all walked out with some great deals!! Although the space is big, they have so much that the aisles are pretty tight. My only complaint is that there is only one dressing room for the whole store, so you can expect to wait in line for this. I do appreciate that they have a bathroom on site and available to the public. The cashiers were very nice and personable--they are always friendly, no matter what location I go to! Out of all the thrift stores in Omaha this one by far has the biggest selection of clothing I've found. I need to come back in soon!! read more

My favorite thrift store! I love how the building looks on the outside. And inside there is a great selection of merchandise at (generally) low prices. It's bright and fairly well-organized. There is a weekly markdown of merchandise by the color of the price tag. I like that there is a sign at the counter to tell us the colors of the weekly sale, and I really like that there are T-shirts hanging high on the back wall to remind us what the colors are, since I normally immediately forget what I saw on the sign at the counter. They have a piano there (Not For Sale), and sometimes sometime is playing it. Once when I was there I sat in a chair and enjoyed listening to a free performance for about 15 minutes. Really nice. The store is fairly busy but it's well-stocked and there are often things there I want to buy. The staff are nice. From time to time the line at the checkout gets long, but they are able to call another cashier. If you have ever worked (or even shopped) in retail you have probably noticed the phenomenon of every single customer in the store seeming to come to the register at the same time! It is nice that the staff are able to accommodate that. read more

This is my absolute FAVORITE thrift store in Omaha!!!! Today, they had 50% off the ENTIRE store for national thrift shop day ! They also have 50% off the entire store on holidays such as the 4th of July and Labor Day. I have found so many amazing finds here from some of my favorite pants to dressy work tops to vintage Husker stuff. There are so much clothes here and there is an amazing men's section. So often at thrift stores, the men's clothing section is very bare and underwhelming. But here, there are so many nice dress shirts, t-shirts, pants, and shoes for men. My fiancée and coworkers all love to come here. Today I got three nice work tops and a pair of work pants for $11!!!! All workers have always been very kind and sweet when I go there too. During the 50% off the entire store days, things are definitely more hectic and busy. Even without 50% off the entire store, most of their prices are amazing!!! Their vintage section can get a little more up there in price, but you can find some of the coolest most unique finds. Highly recommend checking out Thrift World (specifically this location)! They also have an amazing reward system by putting in your number at the checkout which has helped me save even more money. I love thrifting at Thrift World! :) read more

I am always on the hunt for some vintage finds, or old school husker gear and while I did score two amazing 1996-2000 bowl game swag, I was really underwhelmed with the selection and the pricing. The vintage pricing is a little steep, and there wasn't anything I found that was a true score. Also it didn't seem like there were any ticket deals the day I came. The staff was nice, as I had to give over my bag, but I felt better about with them than in my car. Over all, I did find some things but it took a while and I may be back, but maybe less on a mission and will just let things find me. read more

Holy smokes! Thrift World has great selection in every department. Home goods, books, electronics, and clothes galore! Beware: they know what they've got--on the "vintage" racks you'll find treasures AND jacked-up prices. $25 for a used tee shirt? No thanks! I'll try my hand at Goodwill instead. Thrift World, specifically the St Mary's Ave location, is the place to be for thrifting in Omaha! A lot of thrift stores have increased their prices recently, but many items at Thrift World retain their true thrift prices (with the exception of some specialty or vintage items). It is a huge store, so the selection and crowd can be a little overstimulating, but sometimes that's the price you pay for a good thrift find! It's a part of the experience. All of the employees I've interacted with have been extremely kind as well. They have clothes, furniture, homeware, and more. I was impressed by the furniture selection when I was shopping for a dresser. This location also has a pretty extensive vintage clothing section, especially for not being a curated vintage store. I've seen some super cool clothes in there, as well as in the normal sections. What sets Thrift World apart, I think, are their 50% off days. On certain holidays (and just random days it seems), the ENTIRE store is 50% off!! You can't beat that. Today, I got 2 pairs of jeans and 2 blouses for...wait for it...$10. They have a rewards program as well, and you can earn credit for donating clothes! read more

Way to overpriced as a full profit thrift who gets all there stuff donated for free. They had 200 Dollars on a regular hat and stuff on there expensive wall they have up for more then they really even sell for. This store has sold me a million things and I/we have so few complaints, however if the manager could ask the Sunday staff to not hide the racks with the .48 colored tags on Sundays, I would appreciate it. I and others come on Sundays specifically to shop for those sale items, so when they are moved or hidden in the back it truly defeats the entire purpose of the sale itself. Thank you. read more

I love this store and shop it regularly but my one complaint is that on many Sundays the staff is known to move the racks of .48 items to the back many hours before the store closes. It is so aggravating due to coming specifically to shop those racks. I realize times are lean and short staffed, but I can not fathom how putting away what customers want to see and purchase on Sundays is good for business. please don't. i am talking 5 hours prior to closing. read more

Like other Thrift Worlds, expect '80s Top 40 providing the soundtrack to a large, ever-changing inventory with higher-than-average prices. Still, there are regular $1 deals to keep treasure hunters coming back. I haven't found anything here that I couldn't live without for a quite some time, but I have found shirts, CDs, and other miscellaneous goods over the years. This place would be five stars, but they don't have a fitting room. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this place. It is HUGE. I'd been at a Goodwill a couple of days prior and kept getting boxed into aisles by people with carts. The clothing areas are nicely organized; the only thing Goodwill does better is sort things by color. I picked up a Brooks Brothers silk blouse for $4, and a Kate Spade bag for $7, but the real scores in my mind were 10 Time Life Foods of the World books from the '60s and '70s for a dollar each. I took a gamble on a pair of jeans because they were my size in a brand I already own. After washing and trying them on at home, however,I discovered they weren't just high-waisted. They're mom jeans, with a zipper that nearly reaches my ribcage and ample room for a fupa. Oh, well, they'll pair pair perfectly with my sad bucket sunhat, wonky sunglasses, clogs, and gardening gloves. read more

Bought large desk and bedside table from Thriftworld and was nervous about transporting both in the car. However, Alice was awesome, going above and beyond to make sure we could get the items out to the car and both fitting in the back. Holy magic wonderland. So, for the "jump-back-then-slap-yourself because you can't believe it's real" total of $5 and change, I acquired the following: -1 mint condition "Made in Occupied Japan" weird a.f. Great Dane in a costume painted figurine -1 mint condition vacant-eyed kittens playing with yarn figurine -an old a.f. Timex ladies water resistant chrome (plated?) watch that winds - AND IT WORKS -an extremely weird hat that I needed to wear immediately -hilarious and enlightening conversation with the charming lady behind the counter who told me some fascinating stories about running a notorious motel near the small town when I spent a good chunk of my adolescence. THAT IS A BARGAIN. I WILL BE BACK. Because this store just convinced me I'm now into collecting creepy animal figurines, so I have that going for me, which is nice. The pricing seems pretty random but completely reasonable, and, honestly, I'd come here just to hear some stories from the older woman behind the counter because she is awesome. read more
