I've never had physical therapy but a car accident, surgery and a hospital stay resulted in the need to find PT. Two things came to mind: 1) I had no idea where to even begin to look 2) I'm going to have to miss a lot of work for my appointments. I remembered meeting Mario and Shawn at the Grand Opening of a friends gym and the name of their business, Thrive Rehabilitation. I called and spoke to Chelsea. She answered all of my questions and surprised me by telling me that the office is open late for people that work. Also, the office is really close to my home. We handled all the paperwork within the hour and I had an appointment the next evening. Day One: Chelsea greeted me when I arrived. Immediately making me feel comfortable with her kind and fun personality. I then met with Shawn. He spent over an hour with me. He asked questions, performed an exam and gave me an idea of what my program was going to be like. Day Two: I met my PTA, Jess. She explained everything we worked on, made me feel comfortable and made me laugh with her awesome personality. Mario stepped out of his office, walked up and shook my hand and we had a great chat. I also met Kat that evening. She's another PTA who I learned is from a country I truly loved visiting. Some words that I learned many years ago came flooding back. Great memories! All this is going on while I'm still working on my program with Jess. A great distraction since, yes, my hand and arm were hurting. Since then, I've met more of the staff. All are really friendly and very welcoming! Yes, the PT is really helping. Pain isn't as bad as it was; more movement in my arm and hand. PT is work but the friendly staff and Netflix help you get through it! Also, I haven't missed any work! I would highly recommend Thrive Rehabilitation in Clawson, MI. I have received therapy for my left hip and right knee from Thrive Rehab, and I cannot say enough about this place! All of the therapists - Shawn, Anthony, Sophia, Matt and Deb - are truly amazing, each in their own way. Their professionalism, compassion, empathy is second to none! When I hurt my knee a few months back, my doctor recommended I go to PT... I had no idea where to go, but the reviews of Thrive all seemed positive, and I am SO happy I went with them! From the first day, I knew I was in good hands... Shawn is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and he, along with Kat, Mario and the rest of the team, are so much FUN!! There are aspects of therapy that are hard but they make the environment so warm and inviting, you forget you're doing the work that needs to be done... They also show you how to do exercises at home so that you are able to progress even when you're not at therapy, and well after you're through with treatment... When I first started Physical Therapy after my horrific auto accident, it was not with Thrive Rehabilitation. The other location seemed helpful, but the treatment I received never felt personalized for my own needs. Thrive Rehabilitation is an entirely different experience. Immediate relief! Dr. Sean and the team of PTs at Thrive are fantastic! I came in with SI joint pain and sacrum issues just over 4 weeks ago and I am so happy I did. I continue to feel better and am able to lift/train even better than before. After the 1st appointment I was already feeling pain relief and I was able to sleep without any discomfort for the 1st time in years. I was looking for a Physical Therapist close to my home and found Thrive Rehabilitation. I went to Thrive because I had a knee replacement in January of 2022 which was still not 100% in my opinion and was having pain with my Sciatic Nerve. Shawn came up with plan to address my issues. I have been to 4 different chiropractors and 4 different PT locations before coming to Thrive. The staff took the time to learn about my issues and after 3 visits the pain was almost gone and after 6 it was completely gone. My PT spent the entire visit with me and I wasn't handed a list of exercises to do by myself but was there guiding me to ensure I was doing everything correctly. All of the staff especially Mel are incredible. I suffered a complete tear in my Achilles' tendon and within few days of rehab I was able to walk. Approximately one month later I was running and completing activities I couldn't dream of doing in such a short period of time. My physician can't believe the progress I've made so far. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that cares about patients. PT doctors are very through, and develop a work plan of action to achieve the best results and progress. I was able to see noticeable progress for my injury fairly quickly. Scheduling was easy and very accommodating to any schedule changes that I needed. Thrive is by far the best physical therapy clinic I have found in the 25 years I've needed one. Personnel are well educated and trained, always requesting and responding to patient feedback. I came to Thrive in early April unable to walk on my own, let alone function as an independent adult. on September 14th they turned me over to a trainer and his gym as I no longer qualified for PT.
