It includes 1/2 portion of the Sassy scramble - which has onions, fresh herbs, salmon, and cream cheese. It was creamy and flavorable - my hubby wasn't a fan - but I loved it. It also came with a small shrimp and grits - a bit of spicy broth with shrimp and smooth grits. * Kiss my Grits - The bowl of the smoothest cheese grits with the best chopped chicken sausage I've ever had. The food is great, but the service is extremely slow. I understand that walk-in customers may have a wait, but I placed my order an hour before arriving and still had to wait another 20 minutes after getting here to pick it up. The lobby was packed, every table was full, and many guests were still waiting for their food while others had already finished their meals. The servers were doing their best to accommodate everyone and remained professional throughout the rush, so I don't believe they're the issue. The biggest bottleneck seems to be the kitchen. Everyone else is moving with urgency, but the kitchen simply can't keep up. Not once, but *TWICE* I have had my food cleared off my table before I was finished eating while I was in the bathroom at this place. The second time, I even waited at my table for five minutes with a full rectum just so that I could clearly tell my waitress not to do it again, and guess what I *still* find when I get back? Apparently flagging down the waitress to clearly tell her isn't enough -- you gotta make sure the WHOLE KITCHEN knows not to throw your food away while you're in the bathroom. And worse, after that the manager was more attitudinal than apologetic with me when I asked for both a coupon for a big discount the next time I come and for a small portion to-go to make up for what was thrown away (I was still hungry, and they threw away a lot of food). Considering this was the *SECOND* time this had happened, I would think that it was more than fair to ask for a small portion of my away-thrown meal to go as well as a *FREE* meal the next time I come, but apparently the manager decided that $14 off my next meal would be good enough. The food's good, no denying, but the service is definitely in the bottom 25% of all restaurants I've ever eaten at. They make dumb mistakes, they don't learn from them, and their default is to get defensive and attitudinal rather than act truly sorry when you call them out on it. read more

This is my usual Thumbs Up location and I'm the biggest Stan for the catfish breakfast. So when me and my husband made a plan to sneak out to breakfast alone midweek, it was EASY to choose this as our destination. Unfortunately, for the first time, the food was just okay. The fish wasn't seasoned as well as normal, the cheese grits were so packed with cheese they were almost stiff and I could barely taste the grit portion of the dish. I've been going to Thumbs Up East Point for years off and on. I've experienced I've always received good customer service but on May 10, 2026 I experienced the worst service ever. After placing our drinks and food orders with the server a young man wearing a goatee me and four of my family members waited over a hour for our food. Only for the food presentation to look thrown together horribly, some food was not received at all even after it was brought to the server's attention, and platters were received in increments causing one to be colder than the rest of the platter items.
