I came here with my partner on Dec. 23 of this year because I was craving their French toast. On this day, we were seated right in the front entrance area in the booth. I obviously ordered French toast and clam chowder soup. My partner got the traditional breakfast. My chowder arrived at a decent time but we had to wait an additional 30+ minutes for the rest of our food. This was quite ridiculous as I noticed another guest that was seated minutes after us, received his meal before us. We've come here to dine at different times of the day and lately for two Christmas days in a row we've had family breakfast meals here. The menu is extensive offering classic breakfast, dinner and sandwich items. They have appetizers, soups, salad, burgers, etc. and lastly desserts! Plenty of choices and the portions are big. We came here for desserts yesterday and we were seated in the back of the restaurant. Well they now have the new Thunder Cafe Italiano. Well! Once again, service was a misfire. Ordered chicken wings (2) sauce on the side at 3:38AM. At 4:00AM, I received chicken with sauce. Notified the cashier to whom, I found very professional. She took the paper bag and items back to the manager (Ray). Before the cashier left with the bag, I stated that since I had to wait again, there should be some extra chicken. Well! When she returned to the front counter, she held the original bag with wrongly cooked items and stated that the manager said " You can have this order". WHAT! This is the order that was wrong. Why would you give a customer back a wrong order for compensation. I take the bag and wait for my order to be completed, all the while trying to figure out the manager's thought process. Finally getting back out there again after the shelter in place craziness so this was the one restaurant that was open. My first time at the casino and at this cafe. Food did the job. The breakfast was my favorite. The salsa that goes on the Denver omelet goes great on just scrambled eggs. I would have to say the main thing that will stick with me is the amazing customer service. Outstanding. One of the manager came to check on our table and I wasn't too happy with my side salad so I asked if I could possibly swap it for something else, "can I swap it for some fries?". I stay at the Thunder Valley hotel about 2 or 3 times a month, and on the nights when Red Lantern is closed and there are only so many sliders I can order at High Steaks happy hour, I often find myself phoning the Thunder Cafe from my room for a to-go order. The food is always in abundant portions and pleasantly presented and cooked. The club sandwich is a solid 8/10, and the buffalo wings are quite large (my portion came with 7 wings, which I thought was odd....should it be 6 wings or 8? The menu doesn't specify.) The fries are a little bland, so be sure to ask for salt, pepper, and ketchup packets in your to-go bag. Beware of the cheeseburger-- I ordered mine medium, and it came out well done. I'm not blaming this on the chef, though-- the burger patty tastes like a frozen patty that really can only be cooked to well done before it's served. The REAL star of the Thunder Cafe is the Country Fried Steak breakfast plate-- I am absolutely obsessed! For a little over $15, you get a full breakfast that two people could easily share and both be stuffed. Three people could probably even share this plate. The cream gravy is house made and absolutely unreal-- I always ask for an extra side container of gravy, and am always granted it with no charge! I eat that gravy with a spoon, it's so amazing! The country fried steak is huge and consistently delicious. Big shoutout to the folks who work the counter and take the orders over the phone-- I've never had a wrong order, and the special condiments/ additions I ask for are always in the bag. The counter employees have always been super friendly to me as well. Hats off! I look forward to enjoying my next Thunder Cafe to-go order from the comfiness of the hotel beds! read more

For a 24 hour cafe, the food options and quality is outstanding with very reasonable pricing (very affordable and not over priced because you're eating in a casino) But the standout reason that I'm writing this review is for our server, Brian....so personable, patient and a professional! My mother (bless her heart) can be a "karen" going out to eat (I've been in the service industry for 15 years and I still can't fix her) so it's always a bit tense dining with her (she means well, just comes off different) But Brian knew exactly all the answers to her concerns and questions and related with her on her dislikes (whether it was true or not) and made her one happy camper and gave me a chance to relax during my meal. He was super attentive and checked on us at all the perfect times, brought extra sauces for me (be still my beating heart) and just made the evening really fun and enjoyable for us. Food service is a difficult bit right now with challenging guests and product shortages but Brian never missed a beat and treated us like friends instead of guests and that alone left a lasting impression. Thunder Valley is lucky to have Brian (I wish I had him as a server at my restaurant) but the truly lucky ones are the guests who get the opportunity to have him wait on them...his service and personality is the real jackpot here (sorry....had to do the cheesy pun) read more
