My wife and I had a 5 star experience with Thunderbird pools. From start to finish this construction project could not have been any smother! From our initial consultation to the last day of construction. We knew what was happening every day. From filing permits to what crew was showing up that day. The office staff and job supers are always pleasant and always helpful with questions. The owner Lisa always came out to meet us when we came in to make sure we were both happy with the progress. There are so many people there to thanks I'm not sure I can remember them all. But I'll try. Tony our job super was awesome. He always had time for a call or text. Jeff our sales person, is extremely knowledgeable, Britini our coordinator was on top of everything, Alysia the maintenance coordinator was very helpful getting us set up with weekly maintenance. Anel the construction manager kept us informed of all upcoming work to be done. Cynthia the GM was always available to answer a question. Note my review rankings are changing. As I get past the frustration of a 1 year pool build out, I get they are still working toward customer satisfaction and I'm enjoying my pool very much. Their follow up crew that deals with loose ends is as slow as the rest of their team at finishing things yet hey the build a few pools at a time. I will suggest 1) Cohl introduce himself and help the pool owner feel GLAD they chose Thunderbird, 2) they have portable toilets at the job site and 3 they clean up their messes... yes, even the dust they leave in the street. I just have one word. Okay maybe a few more. This company was great to work when they put our pool in just under 2 years ago. Since then we have had a couple little things that needed adjustments. They have come, fixed and followed up everytime ,No questions. I was having some issues with my in pool pop ups the last couple of days, so I called them and they got me on the schedule and sent out Chris. He was extremely polite and knew his business about the pool equipment. We really appreciated that! We also liked that they're a smaller, family owned and operated pool company. Jeff was a pleasure to work with when designing our pool. We attempted to get quotes from Paddock and Shasta pools. No response. We did get quotes from Thunderbird, Presidential, Tribal waters and Cameo pools. Only Tribal and Thunderbird pools really understood what we really wanted. In the end we met with Les and toured some of their work by real homeowners. The quality and craftsmanship was by far superior and made our simple. We told them what we wanted and they came through. Yesterday we had our final meeting with them. It was a bitter sweet goodbye. We will miss Lisa and Cohl because they are genuinely wonderful and professional people. If you go anywhere else, you have gone the wrong direction. Had our pool built in 2020. We saw Steve for our design. I changed our design on two different occasions and Steve was so professional and had no problem making adjustments. We were very happy with the whole process and our Whole family uses our pool year round. We also use the monthly pool service. We interviewed a few pool companies and ultimately decided on thunderbird because of their quality for the same prices (and some cheaper) than other companies. Everything they use is higher quality and they guarantee all their work. Like with any long construction project, timelines and waiting can be frustrating... but they really did answer our questions and calls. Every trade that came by was top-notch professionals and meticulous about their measurements and work. In the end, there was a slight problem with one aspect, but thunderbird sent people out right away to check and was adamant about getting it fixed for us at our convenience. They came out to do a quote in late July & they gave me a quote and layout video in 3 days (if you've been trying to get a pool quote you know that some companies are taking WEEKS to just come out to you). They were not on time for any step of process, and I was the one initiating conversation and dates! But they sure do blow up your phone when they want a check. Then you go into the showroom to look over the many choices of samples and see a computerized conception of what you project would look like. Many options to choose from. I dealt with Cohl and Lisa for 20 years since I made a mistake with the color on my cool deck. Apparently Sedona red is RED! Our pool has been completed over a month and we are very happy with our decision to go with Thunderbird. We were on the fence between Thunderbird and the largest pool builder in the state. The larger builder had a better price but had a lot of consistent issues with quality and delays. We decided on thunderbird for piece of mind. Cohl designed a great pool on the spot and all of the products are top notch. Thunderbird delivered a product that exceeded our expectations and made the right decision. Only negative is I would have liked 1 or 2 infloor cleaners in the center of my pool. I have a dirt zone in the middle. For the price of the infloor cleaners I shouldn't have to consider buying a separate vacuum. read more

Our pool went from a design on paper to excavated, plumbed and re-barred in a week and a half! These guys stay on time and my construction super is always available for questions. I'll post more as the project progresses! I didn't update as much as I wanted but the pool is done and what an amazing job! Werner was great and got the job completed right on time! He kept me informed and up to date on the progress of the pool and even helped me time the completion of the rest of my backyard project so as not to cause problems with the pebble. Cohl Workman promises on his website that his customers will not be disappointed. He is lying. We are VERY DISAPPOINTED. And when we emailed Cohl directly to let him know on January 29, 2021, we were ignored. We spent almost $50,000 on our pool and landscaping with this company and we completely regret it. It all began when our salesperson, Chris (who was mentioned in several other reviews) stopped responding to us. When we finally got a hold of someone, they told us that Chris was no longer with the company. A reputable company would have reached out to his customers to let them know! Then came the delays during our construction.... Our gas permit failed because someone in the office put the wrong permit number on the application with the city. Instead of just admitting their mistake and apologizing, they just denied that it had happened. Once I confirmed with the city that the correct permit number had been put on the application, we passed. Then we failed the pool barrier safety inspection because no one at Thunderbird gave us correct information about what was needed. Lisa did refund us $300 towards the door locks with the caveat that they were not admitting fault. After the Pebblesheen was completed and before the pool was filled, we contacted Lisa about our concerns that there had been so many subcontractors used and that we had concerns about quality control and the mess that several of the crews had left. We took pictures and had to clean it up ourselves. Our supervisor, Joe, said he was no longer involved once it gets to Pebblesheen. We asked that Lisa or Cohl come out to inspect our pool. Lisa responded stating her complete confidence in their process, completely ignoring the fact that I told her outright that I was not satisfied. She just continued to tell me what a great job they do and not acknowledging that I was not at all happy with the work. Once the pool was completed and started up on December 1, Chris, the orientation tech, agreed that the coloring of the pebblesheen did not look right but that we needed to wait until our 30 day inspection on December 28. On this day, Elliot, service manager, agreed again that the color was off and that it would need to be drained, acid washed again and then refilled. When I called the office to try to set this up, I was told that the company they subcontract for the Pebblesheen had to come out to inspect and write a report before this warranty work could be done. This was done and we spoke directly to the subcontractor to set this up for the end of February. We are very disappointed that this company touts themselves as a family business and yet, their response to customer complaints is just to keep saying what a great job they do and not take responsibility for their mistakes. We DO NOT RECOMMEND Thunderbird Pools! We have just reached out to our personal attorney to discuss taking legal action. Response to owner comment: Cohl, Now you are showing your true colors. It is your son who was rude on the phone. Lee was very unprofessional and threatened to fire our pool cleaner and your subcontractor for the Pebblesheen. We have never met you or talked to you, although we did ask to several times. This is the first response we have gotten from you, just sad that we had to post on a public review site to get you to reach out. That is truly poor customer service. We never asked for anything free and we certainly never asked to be paid off. We just wanted the work done properly and fixed when it was not. read more
