I…read morecould detail my many minor frustrations with the lack of communication and what seems to be intentional deceit with moving students between classes without notifying parents, but I feel the two major incidents that caused us to leave will speak for themselves: In the last week and a half my daughter was first directly given a known allergen by a staff member, causing an ER visit and extremely stressful day for my whole family. To be clear, this was not an accidental exposure - she was handed a cup of milk despite having a well-documented allergy to milk. Yesterday, my daughter was sent home with dried feces caked on the back of her shirt from a BM that occurred at 10 AM. She was walking around all day with a significant amount of feces on her. Based on the fingerprints and smudges she was touching it frequently, so it is fair to assume that everything she touched and even the other children she interacted with were exposed to the potential bacteria and illnesses known to be in feces. When I called to address both issues their response essentially amounted to 'mistakes happen.' Obviously this was extremely upsetting given these two incidents so close together, which clearly indicates a larger issue. After a tense but professional phone call with the owner I was told my daughter was no longer allowed to attend, effective immediately. Luckily we were already making plans since we didn't feel she was safe there anyway, but I was still appalled that rather than bear responsibility they chose to dismiss it. I am truly fearful for every student in that center. I don't know what it is happening but there is a clear lack of appropriate management and it is putting kids' well being at risk.

Every day, she surprises us with how much she's learned: letters, words (English, Spanish, and sign language), colors, animals- and she genuinely enjoys it. Sometimes, I have to work to entice her to leave! As two working parents with often opposing schedules, the on site chef is a major convenience as it leaves one less thing for us to worry about. The staff is warm, patient, kind, fun, and engage the kids in a variety of activities to keep them learning and having fun. They readily chat with me about her day and answer any questions I may have. I get daily reports about what she's learning, eating, dsiaper changes and potty training, naps, and loads of fun pictures! She's not always an angel and they apply patience, thoughtful boundaries, and kindness in helping her learn the appropriate behaviors. I had to chime in and improve the rating as one person had a different experience eight years ago and gave one star, but we truly value this business and wanted to share our experience.

Many of the teachers have been working at the center for years, and the director, Ginny Simoneau, is wonderful. Everyone there truly cares about children, and they understand kids and how to help them develop and learn. My daughter had separation issues and can be, well, a bit difficult at times...her teachers handled everything with patience and grace. They always had a kind word for me, and I found them very encouraging and positive. The center also is more flexible about their schedule than many preschools/daycares. I used the center as a preschool, but many working parents had their children stay on in the afternoons. You can pick which days you want your child to attend, which was perfect for me since I was working in the office part of the time and at home part of the time. And it always smells like cookies or cinnamon French toast when you walk inside in the morning! It doesn't get any better than that.

I walked in last Thursday to an unsupervised class of 20 school aged children. I witnessed boys wrestling and picking each other up while the teacher watched, when he finally did came into the classroom from outside:My son broke his arm in the daycare on the Monday and I am wondering if among the 57 children that were reported in that classroom that if there was any or enough staff to fit the state required ratio of teacher to students. I have repeatedly ask for a meeting with the new director but no one is able to speak with me about my child. I am in the process of pulling both my children out of this daycare. DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN!!! STAY AWAY!!! They do not know who your children are nor do they care. This is a dumping ground for kids and they should be shut down.

The last thing that I wanted was to go public with my concerns. Yesterday, the plumbers at WRF & Son came to my house to replace three hose bibs. They did a nice job at replacing the bibs. However, when they turned the valve back on inside the house, they did not do it slowly. They opened the valve too quickly, and hence, shattered a PCV valve in the basement. I called to let WRF & Son know that in the future, the young plumbers would be wise to take it slow opening up the valve. It caused a big catastrophic problem in my home. Mallick Plumbing came to the rescue this morning and did a super job. It was Mallick Plumbing that informed me that the valve was opened too quickly. Again, I only wished to convey an important message to WRF & Son for future situations w/ other customers, but I say to you, beware, they are not interested in hearing/learning from their mistakes.
