They also have a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options which also covers their selection of milkshakes! It is always sad if you go to a burger place and your vegetarian friend only has one option while your vegan friends can't even enjoy the milkshake variations. They didn't ask how I want my burger so I had to trust the cook that it it will be served just how I like it and yes it did. It was still juicy and lightly pink in the middle. Not raw. The veggies and the patty tasted fresh. The bun was alright. The sunny side up egg almost perfect. The bacon could be crispier. Maybe a sprinkle of salt and white pepper would have bring out more flavor but I really can't complain. I also like to mention that the presentation of the burger was done with finesse. Especially if you consider I ordered with no sides. Kudos to the chef. SERVICE I rarely have been to a restaurant with that level of friendliness. Everyone is just very nice. I dig it. ATMOSPHERE Young and fresh just like their burgers. Well the burgers are a bit boring when compared to the interior of the restaurant. The restaurant is even split into two rooms with different designs. Very cool. RATING I have been here three times before. This time I wanted to take pictures and do a review. I never expected them to be so consistent. Especially when it comes to the service and quality. Even though the burger could be more exciting I rather want quality than a bad executed exotic burger just for the sake of being special.

Make sure that you try one of their milkshakes! I'd recommend "Milchschnitte"-Milkshake. The service has been excellent so far even for larger groups. But be aware that it gets crowded in the evenings especially on weekends, so go ahead and make a reservation.

The beef ribs also catched my interest but I couldn't resist to try out the Ramen and with that there was no stomach room left for the ribs. Plus my last beef rips experience (not in this restaurant) wasn't that great. The ramen really looked and tasted authentic! They hit the flavours and the ramen egg was done well. Maybe a tad too salty but it was marinated and cooked properly which I can't even say for some Japanese run ramen restaurants in Germany. The Katsu Bao reminded me of China meets Japan meets Vietnam meets Korea. The Bao (China) fluffy and slightly sweet, the Katsu (Japan) crispy, the sweet sour pickeled carrot and fresh cilantro (Vietnam) and finally the Kimchi (Korea) for a sour spicy note. The homemade ice tea was good too. SERVICE A bunch of cool and friendly guys were rockin this place during my visit. I was the first one to arrive for lunch and expected the service to be fast. No complaints. ATMOSPHERE Industrial and modern look. A dark color theme with some Japanese pictures on the wall and an open kitchen. I like it. RATING So why just four stars? First I wanted to give full five stars but I the last star to me is something personal. The restaurant needs to scream amazing to me and unfortunately it didn't. Everything was really good. The ramen was even better than some Japanese run places I have been to. The problem to me is not the food. It is the flair. The restaurant and its menu wants to sell their customers Japan. The food is there but I just don't get the Japanese vibes and this has nothing to do that none of them was Japanese. You can sell the Japanese feel without being Japanese. It starts with the decoration. While they had some elements they were kinda lost. This restaurant could be anything really. The atmosphere didn't emit Japanese vibes of an Izakaya either. I still can recommend this place and will come back to test more.

The takoyaki were also delicious, only wish they came with 6 and not 4. The chicken wings, another home run. The gyoza were a bit on the soggy side, perhaps maybe another 30 seconds in the pan would've made them perfect. Also try the various fruit teas, not too sweet and perfect to wash down the hot noodles with.

Seriously my casear salad (I was trying to be healthy!) came with so many croutons and a side of garlic bread, this was after I'd ordered 'pizza bread' for starters, well this was just a mis translation on the menu - I got plain ciabatta rolls and a garlic mayo. This restaurant is giving those of South America a run for their money on the triple carbs for dinner! For my vegetarian friend its tricky to find things to eat in Germany, so he appreciated being able to try mushroom quesadillas and a sweet potato and chickpea curry (served with rice and naan - to ensure that carb content is kept up!). For me trying to be healthy it was too much gimmicky 'pup grub' not quite Whetherspoons in the UK and not quite American Tex-Mex. I would definitely recommend sticking to the steak, however they didn't do a great job cooking that as required, but I would blame our lack of German, rather than an issue in the kitchen for this, the actual meat was tasty and comes either with a salad, chips or huge baked potato with sour cream. On the drinks, they serve a selection of the local beers and those from further afield. They try with a cocktail menu, but the one 'mocktail' I tried was pretty hideous (avoid the cucumber syrup in anything!) This restaurant is in central Dusseldorf and is quick and cheap for dinner, just don't have high expectations. It seems to be open all day and has a nice terrace area if the weather is nice. They have also been showing the football here - so I assume they will be showing major sporting events this summer, however the screens are not there all the time. In fact it seems people come to use Alex as a coffee shop / laptop hangout with its free wifi - I spotted a few people working on a mid week night.

They have a daily breakfast buffet in addition to an a la carte menu. The food is above average and for any American tourist, the breakfast buffet offers a lot of familiar foods plus the opportunity to try some German specialties. There is a cereals/pastry/breads section with fresh-baked goods, yogurt and homemade jams. I appreciate the wide assortment of savory foods as I'm not a sweet breakfast person: hot foods might include eggs, bacon, sausage, soups, curry while cold foods include deli meats, salads, smoked trout, lox. The buffet comes with orange juice and is reasonably priced at 13 euros (our hotel was asking 25 euros for a breakfast buffet). They have both outdoor and indoor seating areas, which are both very nice and comfortable for lounging and lingering.
