Be sure to stop by the Trocadero antique store (just across the street from the market) to see a shop full of quality antiques (Mexican and European) at fair prices. Suggest arriving after 9:00 am since that's when most dealers are just beginning to set up. If you mention "trocadero" to taxi drivers they'll get you there (somewhat difficult to find on your own). I've never experienced any safety concerns at the market.

Thursday and Sundays are the best days to come because there are extra vendors. You will not find any place cheaper than here. Unfortunately they are doing construction on the sidewalk so it was super dirty and congested.
