Not a comfortable or safe shopping experience. San Juan de…read moreDios Market was overwhelming and stressful rather than enjoyable. It felt very unsafe due to the extreme crowds and the constant pressure from people asking for money. Carrying a purse or personal belongings was nerve-racking the entire time. This is not a place I would recommend for shopping, especially if you're not familiar with the area or traveling with valuables. However, there are many other great stores one street before you reach San Juan de Dios with plenty of options to browse and shop in a much calmer environment. I strongly recommend going there instead.

It's inexpensive, quick & delicious. Birria was a hit, my all time favorite and can't wait to visit again for more! Staff is very friendly & welcoming, tons of suggestions.. a few tips- dress casual, try not to take out your cell phone & stay vigilant as you might experience pick-pockets. My experience was great all around, but do keep that in mind to prevent issues.
This Sunday market has become the highlight of my visits to Guadalajara. The quality of the…read moremerchandise is quite good, with worthwhile contemporary art, mixed in with religious and secular antiques. Be sure to stop by the Trocadero antique store (just across the street from the market) to see a shop full of quality antiques (Mexican and European) at fair prices. Suggest arriving after 9:00 am since that's when most dealers are just beginning to set up. If you mention "trocadero" to taxi drivers they'll get you there (somewhat difficult to find on your own). I've never experienced any safety concerns at the market.

Oh yeah, also some wine, beer, and cheese places too!
Props to Guadalajara! these trendy look alike food markets are popping up all over the world... and…read moredon't get me wrong, thank god for them, I mean, who doesn't like to have any imaginable type of food available at your table?? Anyway, decided to visit the place by my dearest friend's recommendation; I was not disappointed at all, a great adequation of this old space in the bohemian heart of Guadalajara. the project is still ongoing and there're a bunch of empty spaces but so far is looking sharp! Lo Bueno We ordered seafood small plates from "La Muerta", tbh the best tacos gobernador I've had (we even ordered a second plate...), a very well done Michelada (which in GDL are made with clam and tomato juice) this is hard to achieve, and the aguachile encacahuatado was yumy yumy. you can see the slow traffic street from the terrace with all its people and bikes passing by, a perfect spot to heal a hangover or to look for one. Lo Malo What's the point of having a bunch of restaurants in the same place if you are not allowed to order from a couple of them from your same table?? of course they don't tell you not to, but when we went ahead and ordered an appetizer from the restaurant next door (something that this place didn't even have in their menu), we had to ask for permission for it to be brought to our table because it was La Muerta's territory... come on people! i'm sure we can all be less greedy and share a little... Also, don't even bother ordering a Club soda lemonade (limonada de agua mineral)... they do not know how to make them...
