Tias taco hut on Babcock is amazing. This is not for any other locations. But this place has always been consistent and delicious. I've had almost half the menu and have never been disappointed. They have great service even for busy weekends. You can also get your food to go. In the drive thru or in person. But I'd call ahead because the drive thru is always busy. Door Dash Review: I used to have a regular spot that I'd order breakfast tacos from, and I also had a designated backup. But a trip to Brevity changed things. When my brother-in-law casually dropped that he was picking up breakfast tacos while at the Brevity coffee drive-thru, the person who gave us our order said Tia's Taco Hut had her favorite breakfast tacos. There's one not far from this Brevity. We kinda shrugged it off and didn't give it another thought until after I moved out of the med center. On a whim I ordered Tia's Taco Hut for some breakfast tacos for me and my pup (every 1st of the month I order some to hide his flea/tick/heartworm pill in). Right off the bat, they were able to customize my order to my favorite taco: potato, bacon, egg, and cheese. I also got a weenie and egg taco for Bucky. The tacos are a good size, and the tortillas are okay. But what really shines is that they use the whole strip of bacon, they don't chop it into pieces. Be still, my heart! That's my favorite way to have bacon in my tacos. Adding a little bit of the green and red salsa makes it the most perfect breakfast. If I could change one thing, I'd swap out the tortilla for my favorite spot's. But otherwise, it was great. I've since switched to Tia's Taco Hut for all my breakfast taco orders. We both ordered the Mexican plate. The good - the tacos and tostada are amazing and the flour tortillas taste really good. I would come back for these! The less good - the rice and beans were extremely salty. Almost to the point of being unbearable. The enchilada was okay. Just a wrapped up corn tortilla with meat sauce and cheese. I guess there's no veggies for a to-go plate. The bad - we came in around 2:50pm and put in our order at the main register and sat down. Not one time were we told that the restaurant would not serve customers for dine-in until we were told by the server that it's closing and the food was going to be to-go. Not entirely their fault but also not very good customer service. Some restaurants allow you to put in a last order at 3pm and then shut down but this one probably closes around 2:30pm for dine-in. Very tasty Tex Mex. The service inside is always good, but it can take a little more than 10 minutes to get your food - not a big deal. They are fantastic for breakfast and for lunch. The worst customer experience at this restaurant and I refused to do business forever at this place. The manager acts entitled and never polite and rude when asking for anything. I order food on a weekly basis for my business and when I call I never say I need the special price. Today the manager felt entitled and did not want to grant me the special since I never said it over the phone. She said when people forget to say I need the special they get full price and refused to grant me the special price. I said I come here weekly and buy 2-5 dozen a week. Because of her own ignorance and lack of management experience she just lost my business . Online does not state you have to say special and it says a based on dozen on certain items. I have had issue in the last and today was the final straw. I'm done with Tias and I will be posting this daily to lower your rating and on social media I will be posting negative reviews. Our favorite breakfast spot in this area. You get some delicious Mexican food. My favorite order is the Huevos Rancheros. I order the papas a la Mexicana which are potatoes cooked with veggies such as as tomatoes, jalapeños and onion. It is the best!!! We come at least once a month. Check this place out! read more

I went to this location today through the drive-through. I ordered a taco with bacon egg cheese and beans that cost $4.32. About a mile out at a red light I noticed that my taco was only bean and cheese so I returned to the store and told them about it. It was gonna take even longer to get my taco so I told the cashier I wanted my money back and if I could just keep the bean and cheese taco, the lady from the drive-through said no I felt this was very unfair and it was not my fault, she said to put myself in her shoes, and I said put yourself in mine. I asked for the manager they said a manager was not working at the time I asked for the name of the manager, and they said they could not give me the name so I will be calling corporate and I will return and talk to a manager. No one cared to make it right and it seemed like I was doing something wrong and that was not the case at all. read more

Who would dare give this wonderful place less than 5 stars? Local San Antonio taco chain with some of the best breakfast tacos and other plates I can think of. The line every Saturday morning is a huge indication if it's popularity. Service is quick, drive-thru is a huge convenience, and food is hot and salsa is hot!!! I've only been inside once, and it's as you'd expect. This is strictly a review from a take-out girl only. Breakfast tacos are greatly priced and good in size. Miss when they were 99 cents, but hey, I understand the increase in price now! I also got their mini taco plate, and yes it was perfect. Summary: 100% recommend this place for the tastiness, price, and speed of service. Frequent customer. Additional detail: This is not a gourmet restaurant but a super solid choice for reasonably priced Tex Mex classics. The chips and tortillas are obviously homemade and the salsa is delicious. My personal favorite is the taco salad (and what a steal!). The service is consistently fast and friendly. Nothing special about the rice and beans but nothing bad either. For those who are very particular about the cheese in enchiladas - this is not not the government cheese (closer to American), which I view to be the best enchilada cheese but more cheddar-like (which others view to be the correct cheese); enchilada sauce is tasty. RESTAURANT: Open for Drive-through. I ended up waiting 25 min. for my food which was a terribly long wait for a drive through. My gas light even came on during the weight but that is more of my fault then the restaurants, haha. The tortillas are light and fluffy. The barbacoa taco meat was tender but didn't have much flavor and I found myself heaping in the salsa to better enjoy them. Its hard finding good Mexican food on this side of town however, I feel like if you need something quick Tia is the way to go. I normally have ordered the huevos rancheros plate and I think that it's really good , i've gotten chorizo and egg, bean and cheese and potato and egg and they have all been pretty good for the most part. Of course you can't compare it to a restaurant on the southside but it's still a really good restaurant if you need something quick and that's fast food. read more

I love Tia's taco hut unfortunately this location wasn't up to par for my partner and I. The food took the longest to come out which we've never experienced at any other tias tacos. Parts of my food were hot and other parts were cold. Mind you I saw steam coming off the plate and the waitress said be careful it's hot, but the only thing hot was the plate and only portions of the food. In my opinion as well as my partner's opinion the food wasn't very good. Although the waitress was nice there were times we had to ask another for something. Pastor tacos tasted as if they had no seasoning, my rice tasted bland, and overall nothing had a reviving effect on our meal. My partner took the food to go as he felt bad he spent about $40 on this mediocre food. We will not be back to this location. read more

Only about 2 other people eating at the time ... one lady has caldo That looked so good which made me change my order to menudo . Menudo had a really good Flavor and came out hot and delicious . FOOD - Super fresh and authentic as if mi Tia is cooking at home for us. The salt level tastes a bit high for the salsa and beans (don't add extra until you taste first). We need less sodium anyhow. SERVICE - This location feels like it's family oriented. No drama or lack in service, all are attentive and nice. Just unbelievably busy, hard to keep up and be cordial, you know. AMBIANCE - Like an old Wendy's inside. I'd of liked more room. It's so busy hard to wait so mostly use to go. Note: incredible job of doing cooked-to-order in the drive thru. San Antonio has an abundance of Mexican restaurants on every street, making it hard to choose and difficult to see what's really authentic. We tried Tia's Taco Hut on a whim and weren't impressed. It's a small restaurant with plenty of seating inside but most people seemed to use the drive thru. Service was decent but they messed up my uncle's simple taco order (reading other reviews makes it apparent that this happens a lot at Tia's). I had the Huevos Rancheros and wasn't impressed at all. It was basically scrambled eggs with table salsa spread on top and the side potatoes were cold. If you're looking for cheap Tex-Mex food, Tia's will probably make you happy. If you want some good quality authentic Mexican food though, look elsewhere. read more

Love, love, love their tacos! They have more than just tacos, and my friends, family and I have tried most of their menu- it doesn't disappoint. I love their bean and cheese tacos and it's a good start to my day. There is often a line here during the early morning and lunch time. You can call ahead and skip the wait, or wait in line, whatever you choose it's worth it. Their prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. You will not only be full but satisfied. Tia's is definitely better than most taco places around the area (in my opinion). Don't forget to ask for the green salsa if you like to add a kick to your meal. This morning, like several mornings I ordered tacos to go. I always place 8-10 separate orders and list them out individually and pay for them together. Every time I pick them up, they are ready, individually bagged by numbers and it is an easy process. This morning when I arrived to pick up my order, I was not acknowledged by the lady working at the cash register. (She is blonde, with a very raspy voice and is at the restaurant just about every time we go.) She kept doing whatever she was doing and never looked up. I awkwardly went to sit and wait for her to finish. She looked at me, yelled out my name, which confirmed she knew who I was, and that I was there to pick up an order. I place large orders from Tia's on Babcock several times a month and dine in frequently. Although her service is never "great", today was not good. She refused to individually bag the orders and dumped all of the tacos into one bag. When I questioned her about the individual bags, she said "I am not going to do that." There are so many good places to eat in San Antonio, and Tia's on Babcock is now off our go to list. She can keep her tacos and her attitude. read more

Stopped by the drive thru on a Friday and can I say I have never waited so long for tacos!! Due to lent all I was ordering was bean and cheese taco's and I waited over 15 minutes. I don't know if the speaker was broken or what but a staff member was outside writing down the orders of the 4 cars in front of me and myself. Then went in so I assumed the line would go faster. Nope! The car in front of me left I stayed in line because luckily enough I had a bag of Cheetos n the car to snack on but if I didn't have that I don't know if I would have stayed. I really want to give Tia's more stars but we order breakfast tacos from here at least once a week and almost every time, the order is wrong. There is always an ingredient missing in the tacos and it's extremely frustrating. Today was the third weekend in a row that our order was incorrect. While the tacos are decent, I'm getting pretty frustrated paying for extra ingredients - I.e. bacon or cheese, and then not get them. It's has probably occurred more than 7 times now. I hope they improve their communication between their drive thru and the people preparing the order. The quality assessment of orders before they're served needs to be addressed. read more

Tia's opened a new one over here off 1604 where the old Taco Cabana used to be, and it's been opened for a few weeks. My brother went thru the drive-thru ordered tacos got home he got enchiladas, I thought maybe breakfast tacos wouldn't be bad-I was wrong! And of course Order was Wrong!-if you pay for extras they don't add them just charge you. Ordered a torta and more bun then anything else added cheese I could count the little shreds-if you want to overpay and not get what you order then this is the place. Tia's Taco House still has poor drive-through service. When I came today, shortly before their closing time, I wasn't quickly acknowledged at the intercom and had to honk my horn to get the server's attention. I then had at least a 10-minute wait behind the only vehicle before me. Every visit to their drive through is the same: slow service and having to ask for a receipt. Today was no exception. Luckily I'm off work today and this wasn't a stop on the way to work. However, I have experienced this on days that I have used their drive through on the way to work. My family enjoys eating here when they are visiting from Houston. The breakfast tacos are good. My brother in law enjoys the menudo on the weekends. The service is always quick. During the week, the drive through line can get a little long but it moves pretty quickly. This is a great little local taco place with a few locations around town. read more
