Bought a home this past week or so, was assigned to Doug Myers from Ticor. 1 - No communication at all, my realtor called 10+ times in the last week of escrow to no avail. 2- We were supposed to close on the 28th, but they decided that they were going to wait until the 29th to even send a notary. Then they tried to slide one by me and had both me(buyer) and the seller paying the same fees in our settlement statements, which can't be a mistake, you dont accidentally ask 2 people for the same money. On top of that it took ANOTHER 2 DAYS to send over the correct one, so by the time i finally got the keys we were into the holiday weekend and i was unable to get my utilities and water turned on, so here I am in a house with no running water and no way to cook/store food. They were extremely unprofessional the times I did get them on the phone, they seemed to know about as much about what was going on as I did, and I have never bought a house before. Please let this company go out of business, its shady and they have no idea what they are doing, they're either lazy and untrained, or purposely trying to perform illegal actions. read more

I recently had to deal with this company for a purchase our client made on a home in Bakersfield. The seller chose to use this escrow company. I've never dealt with this company and I never want to deal with them again. The escrow assigned to the transaction is Douglas R. Myers. Douglas was rude on every interaction. I called in once thinking that it would be a better experience on the phone. Big mistake. The man is condescending and rude. The other people that I communicated with were fine. I hope this is not a reflection of the Ticor company and just one bad apple. read more

I had a title problem on a parcel of land. I was lost on what to do. The old Ticor Title Company had shuttered their business in my town a long time ago. I called Ticor Title Kern County and was put in contact with Johnda Stewart. I explained everything to her and after a couple questions she said she would call me back. About 5 hours later she called me back. Danyal had the answers that I needed. She took the time to set the course of action I needed to take, she paved the road for me by informing where I needed to go and who I needed to talk to. Had a bad experience with this company today regarding one of the employees in the notary service department Claudia, the person in question was unprofessional , rude and showed resistance to answer questions when asked. I understand they're not to provide legal advise but with regards to requesting to sign a document and the person signing has a limited understanding to the English language, you can understand the reason for the person signing to ask questions. The experience is exacerbated when the person helping you is bilingual and refuses to and or resist explaining the documents in question in the native language of the signor. Her expressions were of frustration without regard to consideration to the client. I hope this was the exception and not the normal course of business for this woman. read more

My husband and I sold our home recently and thanks to Ticor the experience was an absolute nightmare. They set the closing date for a Friday. Even though the buyers of the home sent the money early in the morning, ticor sat on it and did not process until after 3pm, and only after we called them twice. Because they waited so late in the day to process, the funds were not sent to us on Friday at all, instead we find ourselves broke and homeless until Monday. read more

My review is based on my viewpoint as a buyer. My realtor had suggested another escrow company but when I requested it the sellers insisted we use Ticor Title instead. After receiving my paperwork, Ticor Title emailed my realtor asking for my contact info. She cc-ed me when she sent them my address, email, and cell phone number. I never heard from them so I finally contacted them myself. No one answered the phone number from their emails so I emailed. They didn't tell me the amount I was supposed to send, how I was supposed to send it, or even their address until I asked each question directly. I sent my check. Never heard from them but it was cashed. It wasn't until 3 weeks after closing that I heard from this company. I'm thankful that my realtor and loan agent kept on top of things and made sure things were being done. Ticor Title needs to work on their communication skills. read more

The company went above and beyond helping us with our escrow, even post escrow, i want to mention Douglas by name since he was on top of things since day 1. I had an issue post escrow and Doug handled quickly without hesitation and he was always understanding of the sense of urgency I'm in(im a little impatient). Do not do business with this company! They are incompetent, do not communicate, change escrow officer during transactions, and send documents for you to fill out, although you took the time to submit ALL necessary 'required' information prior to closing. Worst experience doing business in Kern County! Perhaps Ticor Team should spend quality time on their clients 'bread & butter' and less time posting photos of themselves being juveniles on social media. I was directed to Ticor by my realtor to start the home buying process and while my information had not crossed over to them yet at the time, Lexi at the front desk figured everything out quickly and even followed up with me throughout the process to make sure all of my questions were answered and the process went very smooth. In the beginning at our first signing everything was explained well. But after that could never ever get anyone to answer a call again or return any of my many messages. After closing Jenny took care of some mtg. co issues for me as should be expected for them to pay out. Doug is a fast talker and explains thing thoroughly and says call me if you have any ?'s but then acts like your inconveniencing him when you do and speaks in a belittling manner to you. What a terrible experience at Ticor Title. First, we were the buyers, not the sellers, so Ticor was not our choice. The loan documents were sent to the escrow officer Danyal on a Tuesday. Up to that point (45 days of escrow), we had not heard a word from Escrow. NOT A WORD. We were supposed to close that Friday according to documents. I sent Danyal an email telling her we were supposed to close and asking what amount I am supposed to bring in cashier's check form. I would also not be available to sign until Saturday since I have a job. I HEARD NOTHING BACK. Finally my wife got word that they have made arrangements to come to us on Saturday. But still nothing on the check amount we needed to have to close. On Friday I got an angry call (the first one ever!) from the Ticor Notary asking why we weren't there. THE APPOINTMENT WAS FOR SATURDAY NOT FRIDAY, I TOLD HER! Plus the attitude I got was despicable. After a bit, they admitted that the appointment was in fact for Saturday, but we got no apology. Then I emailed them again asking WHAT AMOUNT DO I NEED TO BRING???!! NO REPLY. These people are morons. So Saturday morning, I get up, go to the bank and get a cashier's check for an amount from an outdated estimated closing cost from like 30 days ago. At least I had made the effort I thought to myself. THEN WE GET ANOTHER ANGRY CALL at 2PM from TICOR NOTARY ASKING WHERE WE WERE. The appointment was for them to come to us. It's a Saturday and they told us it would be at our house. Still no calls from Danyal (our actual escrow agent) by the way. I was just gonna tell them to go stick it, but my wife calmed me down and we shoved our kids in the car and ran over there with check in hand. The Notary was ever so slightly apologetic when I told her the story in person. She also told me the cashier's check amount was far less ($2000 less) than the check I brought. I never was given an updated amount. We just sickeningly signed everything in front of us, gave her the overfunding check and walked out. If I had seen Ticor employees, I think there would have been a serious confrontation. They did not earn their fees and showed gross incompetence and a vacuum of basic business ethics. I was tempted to ask for my fees back. I WILL NEVER EVER USE TICOR AGAIN. May seem like an empty threat but I have 3 properties now and whenever there is an RPA (Purchase Agreement), one of my misc. requirements is "NO TICOR TITLE". See ya. read more

Very disappointed in dealing with Diana Kofahl and their client, Mr. Jean Laborde. Dishonest at best and they definitely don't follow the laws or rules. We have an escrow account with funds that should have been released to us 1.5 years ago and have yet to receive them! Don't do business with this company - I feel like we've been scammed. read more

I personally deal with Diana Kofahl at Ticor Title on daily bases and have for serveral years. I have never had a problem with her. She is fast, efficent and easy to deal with. I have only have great things to say about her and her company. This is why we chose to use her at our mortgage company on all of our transactions. read more
