I saw that Tidy Dog had poor reviews on Yelp, but my friend used them and he would get some kind of bonus if we went there, so I decided to give them a try. I called ahead of time and talked to a very nice lady. I was concerned that my puppy would be frantic if he was sitting in a cage for hours. He hasn't been apart from me since I got him, and this was his first grooming appointment. She assured me he could be done in probably an hour and a half. I went to the appointment and was told by a young guy that worked there it would be several hours. I told him what I had been told by the lady and offered to bring my dog back later so he wouldn't be sitting in a cage for so long. The young guy went to the back, and an old guy came out saying he heard I didn't want to wait. He very rudely told me I would have to wait and there were 50 people who would be happy for my slot. It was bizarre behavior. I turned to just go, and he said a few more rude things. I told him I never said that I wasn't willing to wait. He kept on being combative. As I was leaving, I told him I didn't like his attitude. He yelled that I had the attitude. All I did was ask about the reassurances I had already been given. The whole situation was needless and just crazy. You do not want to take your dog there. read more

A great little indy pet supply run by some very nice folks. I own a dog but they have a little of everything for most pet owners. I saw items for for birds, fish reptiles, rodents, crabs, cats, etc. as well as stocks of fish, reptiles and even a couple of tarantulas! It is a close and convenient place plus it sells my dogs food. As for dogs/cats they carry Taste Of The Wild and the best assortment of KONG products I have seen. We will be returning. The prices were the same is not better than the mall chains. So I saved on a trip with time and gas. They do on site grooming and were very friendly. I gave them 4 out of 5 as they are growing and could use new friends stopping by! Call first to see if they can help you and the ones you love. read more

I'm sorry but I can't give this place even a one star rating. I took my little Yorkie and asked for a long hair cut with a bow on top of this head.....when I picked him up I was devastated. His hair was so short and uneven, it was ridiculous. I took him home and tried to even up the hair myself but it was such a bad cut, there was nothing that could be done except allow time to pass. I called the owner/manager (?) and he said that he knew ALL about Yorkie cuts..that he had graduated from some school...whatever. A piece of paper means nothing to me if you can't provide the service accurately. I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take any of my pets there....He was rude over the phone and obviously, they didn't listen to a word I said. This is the first review I've ever written but it is something I strongly feel needs to be communicated before anyone books an appointment here. About two or three weeks ago (June 1), I brought my dog in to get groomed. It was his first time here - his usual groomer is out on maternity leave. Of course, I looked all over to find somewhere that looked like they knew what they were doing and with 4.6 stars, I figured I'd give Tidy Dog a try. When I dropped him off around noon I was told it would be 4-5 hours, so after 5.5 hours, I called to see how much time was left (totally not an issue that it took longer than expected, that's not what this is about). The person I talked to told me 45 minutes, but that I could drive that way and hang out in the parking lot until they called to say he was done. Around about 6:25pm (they close at 6:30pm) I walked in to see what was going on. I let the woman at the front know who I was there for and her and I began talking about the CBD they sell in store, while explaining how my dog has severe anxiety. About 5 or so minutes later, I hear someone from the back yell, "Is that Beckham's mom? Are you going to tell her what happened?". Next thing I know, they're telling me they sent my dog home WITH THE WRONG FAMILY. Need I mention my dog is white, 3 years old, and 85lbs. while the other doodle was a far darker color and very clearly smaller. Mind you, I was under the impression my dog was still being groomed in their building, but instead it was MY dog who was done earlier that was apparently on his way back with whoever they sent him home with. AND they weren't even going to tell me? Was I supposed to sit there until I saw him coming in through the front door???? I'm not going to get into what I think about the family not noticing it wasn't their dog to begin with, but I want to point out that when I talked to someone on the phone the next day, not only did they rudely try defending themselves, but they also put all the blame on the other family as if they're the ones I'm paying and trusting with my dog (if you're said family and reading this, I suggest you take your business elsewhere - Furvana is amazing!). When my dog finally walked in 15 minutes later, I just wanted to get the hell out of there. They never offered to discount anything, they just kept telling me how this has never happened - clearly I don't care if it's never happened before, because it just happened with my dog. I paid in full, accidentally tipped 15% (you guys can use that to educate and train your employees on which dog is which), and left. As I mentioned prior, they gave me a call the next day. It was about 15 minutes of me telling the guy this isn't okay after he said "well we were under the impression this wasn't a big deal because you didn't say anything" to which I responded, "you're welcome for not doing this in your lobby with the other family and your 15 employees" (which is insane that they have that many people walking around, no wonder they didn't know what was going on). Fast forward to a couple hours later and they call again saying they're giving me the full refund, including the tip, probably hoping that'll keep me from posting this review - I also have a text from someone there spelling out the exact amount I would be getting back. I held off on writing this until the charge was refunded, but to no surprise, I didn't get the full amount. I don't even want to get into talking to someone about getting the rest back - I want to be done with this place. Moral of the story is, they gave my dog to the wrong person, charged me full price, argued with me when we discussed it on the phone the next day, AND not only did his haircut looked absolutely horrible, but they're more expensive than where he usually goes. But aside from this incident happening, ya'll have the worst customer service I've ever seen. Everyone makes mistakes, but this is a mistake that should have NEVER been made considering your entire duty as a business is to take the dogs, groom them, and return them to their owners. read more

I have a difficult time trying to figure out the right rating for this place. I called on Thursday morning around 11:15am and asked if they had any appointments and was told they only had an 11:30. Luckily I live 3 minutes from the salon so I booked it and jumped in the car and took my pup over. They said it should be 1pm at the latest for him to be ready. I was super happy and headed home. Flash forward and at 1:45 I still hadn't heard from them, so I called and asked if my dog was done and was told he was 5 minutes away from being finished.. perfect! A little longer than quoted but sometimes people get busy I understand. I once again got in the car and drove right over. When I got there I was told that my dog hadn't even been STARTED yet. I thought "no way, she must be mistaken" and told her that I had just called. But nope, she said the person who takes those calls only go by check in time and not what's actually happening in the salon... what! She turned around and asked the groomer if they could start my dog right away and told me it would be another 30 minutes at least. The only thing I was told was that "a lot of our regulars came in early." Well, dang I mean I made an appointment but are you trying to tell me that because I was a new customer my dog wasn't as important and got pushed to the back of the line? He already has separation anxiety issues and I'm sure was miserable being kept in a kennel for over 2 hours before he even got started. I came back home to do a couple things and finally 45 minutes later got a call saying he was ready. I went right over to pick him up and wasn't offered an apology or even a couple bucks of a discount for the inconvenience. I thought for sure they would try to make it up to me for taking over twice as long as quoted but nothing. Now all that negative being said I also have to say that out of all the groomers and baths he's ever had this was by far the best result we've ever had. He fur was bright white, he smelled amazing, his nails were beautifully trimmed and he was just gorgeous. The absolute best grooming I've ever seen. But I can't figure out if it's worth it to take a chance and put him through hours in a kennel in case he gets pushed back for regular customers again since they are so important compared to other appointments. read more

I love Tidy Dog, and they love my dog! I feel really comfortable leaving my dog with them. He is a 12 year old Staffordshire Terrier who is honestly a lot for me to handle, yet somehow they always get his nails done & give him a bath with no issues!! He always is really happy when I pick him up & he acts like he doesn't want to leave! I would highly recommend Tidy Dog to anyone! read more

I have heard good things about this business so I trusted to board my dog there overnight while I went out of town. Very unhappy when I picked him up. They hadn't fed him hIs morning meal (I picked him up at 3 in the afternoon), he smelled AWFUL, and no one even attempted to talk to me about his stay. My dog is my baby, so I'm very upset and will not be a returning customer. This is a small business so you think they would care more about their dogs and their customers. read more

Although the owner is a nice guy, I will never let them touch my miniature schnauzer again. If your dog experiences stress while being groomed, avoid this place like the plague! Every time I've taken my miniature schnauzer there, they have her there at least 6-7 hours. The last time I used them, they didn't even finish! Ear hairs not plucked, Nails not trimmed, fur not completely finished and they had the nerve to attempt to charge me full price!The owner was out sick that day, but they called him at home and I was given a small discount, but it wasn't enough to justify my dog looking the way she did and suffering the anxiety of being there that long!Staff is rude, unprofessional. That was it for me. I found another groomer that does an excellent job and it only takes her about 1.5 hours to do a complete grooming. read more

My Shelties were in for haircuts and came back infested with fleas they didnt have when i dropped them off. I called & asked for a mgr & he/she wasnt available. So i explained my frustration and the owner (Steve) got on the phone! He tried to tell me they grow fleas different here than where i come from! My dogs did NOT have fleas until i picked them up. He kept talking over me and wudnt listen and he hung up on me! The girl at the counter actually told me the fleas came up thru the cement & thats how my dogs got em! Do NOT EVER trust your babies to these ppl. Poor Lady has chewed her toes so bad the are bleeding. read more

My Jack Russells have short coats and don't need much grooming, but every once in a while I like to take the girls out for "a day of beauty." Tidy Dog does so much more than just give a dog a bath. They pay attention to everything - ears, teeth, toenails, light trims where needed. Dottie and Diva love the attention and care from all the staff. They are good people. read more

I felt uncomfortable the moment I pulled up to this place. The owner/manager was friendly but the other staff were really weird and cold and unprofessional. I was so nervous leaving my sweet dog here but I did it anyway because I was in a pinch. They called me and told me my dog was ready but they referred to my dog by another name-- that's because they called the wrong owner. That wasn't a huge deal but the fact is this is just not a very professional business. They seemed like backwoods hunter types. I got a creepy vibe. My dog was kind of limping when I picked him up and when I took him out he peed for almost a minute straight, even though I said that he has kidney problems and needs to have water and go out often. He got home and drank so much water, telling me that he didn't get much water there. Sadly, I will not be returning. read more

I started going there when it was still called FinDin. They are really great people. They do the best hair cuts I have ever seen. My only complaint is, it takes way too long. I don't know if it's poor time management, or they take in too many clients. If they could improve in this area, it would be the perfect place. read more

I have been grooming my dog for 5 years, every 6-8 weeks, have lived all over the US and have NEVER in my life had as horrible of an experience as I have here at Tidy Dog. The owners/managers (not entirely sure which it is, as I could never get a straight answer out of them) are the most disgusting, low rent, backwoods people I have ever met. A complete lack of professionalism and cleanliness is all you will get out of this establishment! The grooming is sub-par and tolerable if you can deal with a groom taking 7-9 hours (while your dog is pinned up without water, bleeding). My dog not only did NOT receive his grooming (after 5 hours of being in a kennel) but when I came to check on his status was told it would be another 3 hours. At this point I asked if I could simply take my dog as I am not comfortable with him being kenneled for that long. The "manager/owner" stomped off saying "people just don't understand how hard our job is". He disappeared into the back for a minute or two then reappeared with my slobbering, panting dog, handed him to me and said "I'm sorry we didn't live up to your expectations". I replied with a thank you and walked out. Fast forward to 2 hours later and I receive a voicemail from a woman stating that I had "walked out on services and would need to come back and pay for it or I would be arrested" as she had "metro in the business and if I didn't show up before 6 pm I would have a warrant". This being the first reference of any money needing to be exchanged I called and asked the woman what exactly I owed and explained that I had spent the last two hours trying to stop the bleeding from my dogs nails and cleaning blood out of my car, clothes and house. The "owner/managers" response was that she "didn't give a shit and all she cared about was that I paid for the services". After all this isn't "give you shit for free day" and hung up on me. Cut to 2 hours late and 10 phone calls later of being hung up on, sworn at, threatened I finally went back to pay for my "services". I had a metro police officer meet me there in order to protect my safety and allow the payment to be documented (as she had already contacted metro on my "theft of services") the woman spent the entire time SCREAMING at me, calling me names, making statements of my check being "hot" and having to have the police officer and her husband step in to stop her from yelling and jumping over the counter. WOW, as an upstanding, taxpaying, 40 hour a week, successful 20 something I can honestly say I have never in my life, no matter the city, state, or situation had someone be so unprofessional, frightening, threatening, disgusting towards me. Please, please head my advice and DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE BUISNESS. read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you Tidy Dog Grooming! I recently took in a 13 year old Chow Mix named Foxy who's long time owners could no longer care for. When I got her after about a week at Metro Animal Control she smelled terrible, her nails were so long they were curing under (making it hard for her to walk), and she was leaving a trail of hair wherever she walked. I called all around Nashville looking for anywhere that could squeeze her in and was told it would take up to a week to get her an appointment almost everywhere. After explaining the situation over the phone Tidy Dog Grooming agreed to squeeze her in the next day! They did a wonderful job and Foxy was clearly feeling much better right after the appointment! She was even walking better! After looking into prices at a few other places the seem very reasonable and competitive for their services. Fox is over 70 lbs and was in bad condition, I paid $80 for a wash (they had to shampoo twice because of Foxy's condition), nail trimming, summer hair shave, ear cleaning and teeth cleaning. Foxy smells and feels much better and I will be back if she needs it again! read more

What a great place to have your dog groomed! The owner Steve is super friendly and really knows how to groom a dog. My 2 dogs (pomeranian and king charles cavalier) were just groomed there today and when I got home, my husband said its the best grooming job he has ever seen on our dogs!! We really knew how to style my pomeranian and king charles, which can be tricky. The prices are great as well, way lower than PetSmart and way better quality! read more

They didn't cut my dog's nails or hair, and charged me 27 bucks for a bath I could've done at home. I won't be back.

I am brand new to the area and was in a pinch with getting my two dogs bathed. The male, I believe his name was Stephan, said he was the owner and he was very nice on the phone. When I got to the shop it just didn't feel right. It's kind of dark and just not at all how any groomers I have been to looks. The dogs were taken back and the leashes returned to my husband (I was in shock they would be returned). I have never had leashes returned to me! That's just horrible! How will you take them to potty or if they run because they get scared, or whatever the situation?! Fast forward to me picking them up. I waited at the counter for a few minutes before anyone acknowledged me. Meanwhile all along I can see 3 people standing around and one sitting on a couch in sweats in the back behind the counter area. When someone came up they were handed the leashes by me and I asked why they weren't kept. Her reply was the lady that walks them to pee is busy today. So you're telling me you had my dogs for over half a day and they never got to pee. They also never gave them water and kept them in cages not a kennel like i was told. When I stuck my head around back I saw them roughly handling my bulldog and grabbing her by the neck region. I almost lost my shit on the spot. My husband stopped me though. Both dogs had their seresto collars removed too, after I specifically said to leave them on. Their toes were never trimmed and they didn't smell like they got a bath. They smelled better, but not how one would expect after a bathing. The owner talks this place up like it's a spa day for the dogs. My dogs came home frightened, one had diarrhea for a day, and the other was as far from herself as she could get. It just wasn't my dogs I brought back. Took the. A full day to act normal again. I will never return to this place. Horrible professionalism in the back and the wife of the owner is crazy. She was all over the place and acting insane while I picked up my babies. I went in when they first opened and the groomer working there was extremely snobby and rude to me. I asked whether he had ever groomed a schipperke before and he said he had never heard of that kind of dog. He asked me what class they were in and if I was sure I knew what kind of breed it was. Well, since ya never have heard of my dog, you certainly are never going to groom him. There is such a thing as an internet buddy, look it up before you insult a potential customer. The first review for this place is pretty accurate. This is my first time signing up for yelp as I never feel the need to write reviews for places. That's how it is. You're more likely to get a bad review than good. These guys are kind of hostile and unprofessional. The lady flips out and goes on a rant. They took my dog and I agreed to come back at the specified time to pick him up. Let's just say they did a horrible job. My dog came back fully shaved. Sure, it's low maintenance but dude I didn't ask for that. My shih tzu looks ridiculous. I usually don't do these grooming places as it's pretty damn easy to do it myself. Looks better when I do. Just sayin. Don't shave the ears. Also, ya'll need an attitude readjustment. This is a business and I'm not "part of the family". Act like it. read more
