I cannot possibly say all of the things I love about TE Windom! Most important: the staff genuinely care about the kids; they love them, and my children love them back. My daughter regularly calls me her teacher's name! There's nothing better than knowing your kids are going to a loving, nurturing environment. My daughter also has an anaphylactic food allergy, and they are so careful with her! She often can't have the birthday treats others bring in, so staff give her something separate so she still feels included! They also provide organic, delicious foods for the kids - I'm shocked at the fact that my daughter has already had quinoa, hummus, guacamole, etc., and loves it! And my son (still a baby) gets homemade baby food made in the commercial kitchen! They're also 4 star rated on Parent Aware with a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum for development and learning in a complete Spanish-immersion environment, which I love! My kids have been going since they were babies (one is 2.5 years old and the other is 7 months), and my daughter's first language is basically Spanish. It's incredible to watch her language acquisition in two languages! Staff turnover is non-existent, which shows how well functioning this day care is - I know they get treated extremely well, and they work really well together, which is great. The security is amazing - all doors require key fobs, and there are cameras outside every entrance and in each classroom. The playground space is incredible - there's a massive indoor space with a climbing wall that goes to about 8 feet high that my daughter adores, and the outdoor playground is gorgeous! She recently had a pretty intense surgery, and staff have been amazing at implementing and following her medical restrictions, so that's a massive plus. There is beautiful, natural light in every room, and they take the babies out on walks in a huge stroller when the weather is nice. Finally, they do lots of activities - they had the Raptor Center come in recently and show and teach the kids about birds of prey. I just can't give high enough praise for a center that takes such amazing care of our precious kids!! read more

I am a huge fan of this day care center. It's the first center that I've entrusted with my two littles having stayed at home with them, and I cannot speak highly enough about the care they provide. My son has been attending since the center opened, and his development has grown immensely since starting. He started in the Toddlers and has now transitioned to the PreSchool classroom. The teachers in both were warm, caring and kind. Though I do not speak Spanish, I was always able to find ways to communicate my needs to them either through the primary teacher or an assistant at the front desk. I like that they have the opportunity to play indoors/outdoors, engage in creative play & art projects daily. I've stopped by a few times during the day to observe my son at play, and he's always having a great time. The classes are clean, engaged and about as orderly as you can possibly get at age 2.5! My daughter just had her preliminary visit to start next week, and I was pleased at how many questions they asked regarding her food preferences, schedule, allergies, etc. I would happily pay a higher fee than what is charged to send my kiddos there - I have absolute peace of mind while I'm at work during the day that my son is thriving. read more

We have had an infant and a Pre-K child at TE-Windom since September. Like the previous poster, our older daughter was used to an English speaking, small, in home daycare and the transition was tough, but all the Pre-K teachers rallied around her and now she refuses to leave before 5:30 (when she gets her late snack). TE-Windom is large - both in physical size and number of staff/children. Initially, as a parent, I will say that I was a bit skeptical - how could a center so big, actually feel warm and loving? I was convinced we were going to be sacrificing that for the Spanish immersion experience, organic food, cloth diapers, etc. But no, amazingly every staff member (not just their teachers) seems to not only know my daughter's names, but also that they are sisters. I'd say too that the lessons they are teaching the children will prepare them well for kindergarten. In just a few months, our older daughter is speaking in Spanish at home, writing her name, and bringing home fun math/writing worksheets. They're learning some geography now and she's talking about "mapas" all the time. I'm so pleased we made the transition to TE-Windom. read more

We love Tierra Encantada Windom! The teachers and administration obviously care so much about the children in the facility. My son started in the infant room and all three teachers were amazing! They went on daily buggy rides outside and he was never sad to be there. He moved to the toddler room in August and has been just as happy. He runs to the teacher with smiles every morning. They were supportive when we potty trained him early and he has done amazing with it which is clearly a testament to the teachers hard work. The artwork he brings home is awesome and he seems to love the food (which is healthy!) they go outside and/or play in the gym daily which he also loves. Every staff member we see from teachers and administrators to the cleaning staff and cooks, greet him by name which is so impressive to me. He loves it there! We were at a different Spanish immersion daycare before they opened and my husband said it best a few weeks after our switch "He seems so much happier on the way home than he ever did before!"I totally agree. We have been here for 6 months with a 2 and 4 year old. We just moved from San Francisco where we were in a Spanish immersion school and were so happy to find this place. We love the amount of outdoor time they have and the amazing caring of the teachers and the head of the school. They have been prompt about getting back to us about any questions. I love that the teachers are Spanish mostly as it makes such a difference for the kids ability to learn. For those of us typical who're Americans who don't know other languages I'm so happy that my kids will have access to cultures and language. At our previous school there was a notebook in all the rooms where parents could write questions or give updates in English and the English speaking admin would come around and write comments back and I think that would help. My oldest is flourishing and learning how to read already. I feel confident leaving my kids there in able and talented hands. Tierra Encantada - Windom has far surpassed our expectations! My husband and I were very stressed about moving our daughter from a home daycare with 7-8 kids to a preschool. Our older daughter was four and had been with the same provider for four years - she was like a second mom to her. When we transitioned to Tierra, the tears came as expected. What we did not expect was how quickly both of our girls adapted to the change. Our older daughter is very shy and we were worried that she would have trouble with the Spanish (especially entering Pre-K with kids who had already been part of an immersion program) but we were so pleasantly surprised. Ms Silvia and Mr Santiago encourage her and have helped her our of her shell. Our younger daughter has grown leaps and bounds with the program at Tierra. My daughter adores Ms Leti. There is a wonderful outdoor play area for kids and an extremely impressive indoor gym for bad weather days and bigger events. I send my 2 kids to Tierra, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. This was the first time we had our kids not cared by their mom and family and we were very uneasy about it. Tierra looked amazing, super clean and the staff seemed extremely nice and capable so that helped a lot with our decision. Today, 4 months after the kids started, they are carrying full conversations in Spanish, they love it there, they know every staff member, talk about them and love them like family. The staff is so skilled and competent at what they do, so affectionate to the kids and treat them like they are their own in a very warm way. Not only we recommend Tierra Encantada, but we wish our kids could have this type of education and care throughout the rest of their school lives. To all the staff, you have our complete trust! We switched our children at 3.5yr and 6mo to TE Windom shortly after it opened. Their teachers are so warm and were very helpful in the transition. It was an adjustment for my son, who was being spoken to in a language he didn't know for the first time, but it was no time at all and he was coming home singing in Spanish. He's caught up with his reading and writing and math skills where he left off in English and now is thriving and learning so quickly. My daughter loves her teachers. Our experience with Director Alba and the other administrators, Maritza and Liz, has been great as well. They are bright and responsible. Overall, the school feels more like a community as the kids and teachers are often together. Thus, everyone (cooks to other class teachers) know my children and they know them. I can't recommend Tierra Encantada enough! Our son started in the infant room - and it's been so exciting to see him grow. He loves his teachers and just walking through the hallways you hear many of the staff greeting him - which makes him feel so special. We recently transitioned to the toddler room - and I love how the staff created a plan for him to get dropped off in his regular room, but then he (and a friend from his current infant room) would both visit the new toddler room to become acquainted with the new surroundings and activities. Additionally, I love that he is hearing native Spanish speakers daily! Half of my son's family lives in Central America and I can't tell you how much joy it brings me to know that he will be able to communicate with them as he grows. We absolutely love the care our daughter receives at Tierra Encantada! She gets excited every day when we pull up, starts to smile the minute she sees her teachers and friends, and is still smiling when I pick her up. I can't comment on the food because my daughter isn't on solids yet, but the teachers are so focused on her development that they asked when we were planning to start because they think she's ready. In the 5 weeks that she's been there, she's come so far with her physical, verbal and emotional skills! All of the staff are so friendly and greet us in the halls. Dropping my daughter off at Tierra Encantada makes it easier for me to go to work because I know that she has loving teachers who care deeply about her and her development. We have both of our girls at Tierra Windom and LOVE it. Our preschooler sings at night and weekends in Spanish and loves going to school to see her teachers and learn. Our toddler loves her teacher and her classroom too! The administration staff is fantastic and so are the teachers we have had. I love that they treat my kids like family, hug and kiss them so they are cared like family when we can't be with them :) The food is healthy and the indoor play area is the biggest one around, way better than any other daycare we toured. Our daughter (2yrs old) has been going to Tierra for a year and our son (4months) for almost 2 months. We have had the best experience with all of the teachers and directors. Our son (3 months) has had a very smooth transition to starting daycare. He smiles at the teachers and they just love him. We have been extremely happy with the care at Tierra Encantada Windom. We were apprehensive at first about transitioning from an in-home nanny to a preshool but we have found many great leaders and teachers who have helped our daughter to feel welcomed and cared for. Karina runs an excellent school and the teachers have been warm, caring and have helped our daughter to start learning Spanish. We love tierra encantada! Our child previously attended their Bryant location, so we have been at TE for 2 years. I am a spanish native speaker and it is really important that my child is raised bilingual, tierra is really helping us in the process! What we also like about Tierra is their caring staff, facilities, awesome food, cleanliness, safety, and when our child was an infant it was really convenient that they provided cloth diapers and purées. Our 3-year-old son has been attending Tierra at this Windom location since it opened about 6 months ago. We absolutely love the high quality care he receives. We started at TE Windom in June of 2018, I have 2 children, 1 of which has now started Kindergarten. My daughter is in PreK and has 2 amazing teachers that take such great care of her. She is excited to go everyday and loves all of the activities that they do. One of her teachers often brings his guitar and plays and sings for the kids, she LOVES that! My son has been at Tierra for 3 months now and really likes his teachers and friends that he's met. I've been able to connect with his teacher most days at pick up to hear how my son's day went. She listens to him and me and helps deliver the care he needs as he needs it. For instance, I was recently hospitalized and she took extra time with him, giving him hugs and attention. Such a wonderful program filled with so many loving and kind teachers. Teachers treat the children like their own, lots of love and compassion. We are impressed with the educational structure, organization, quality of teachers and the school its self is beautiful. Huge indoor gym for the kids to excercise on rainy or cold days!
