We just bought a house in Nelson Co., VA, which was serviced by AmeriGas. AmeriGas was more than happy to sign us up for an account and were more than happy to take our money, but not so responsive in turning on the gas that was paid for or even returning a call, let alone installing the gas fireplace we were buying. After a week of phone calls with hours-long holds, a visit to the AmeriGas office, and no heat or ability to cook in our new house, we made the smartest decision and called Tiger Fuel. We were extremely fortunate to talk with Mr. Fred Brown, the most competent, helpful, respectful person we've dealt with anywhere, EVER. He walked us through the process to switch suppliers, which would have been frustrating had he not informed us how to proceed.
The rest of the story is a tutorial in Customer Service. Each employee we've come in contact with has treated us as if we were their most important customer. Mr. Brown has followed up on every service call by phone or email or to inform us that parts were on order or were delivered. Appointments have occurred on time and the workmanship is excellent. Our new gas fireplace is looking so good--even better than we anticipated. Mr. Brown was even nice enough to recommend a skilled carpenter to build our mantle since we were new in town and had already had a poor experience with a carpenter. And his recommended carpenter was just what we needed.
