I purchased a hefty order and I must say this was a perfect way to spend cinco de mayo everything was perfect, everything I ordered was perfect there was nothing missing they went above and beyond to achieve my satisfaction and my families. I recommend this location and their food quality to anyone questioning. This is an amazing Tijuana flats and they've always been! It's been a good number of years since I ate at Tijuana Flats! And that was back in Missouri, probably in the 1990s. I liked it then - and I like it now! I'll say first of all, the parking lot isn't the largest here for the stores that surround it. I was blessed to get a good spot right in front of the door as the driver was pulling out when I drove in. As busy as it was around 30 minutes in, I'm sure some had to look hard for parking. Just be aware of that if you go here for dinner. You may want to be early. Tijuana Flats has pretty wild decor. It's different and hard not to like it. However, it seems to have some age on the interior and I think it could use some renovation. But people really like coming here. You can tell there are a lot of regulars, especially on Taco Tuesday. Though I didn't have the taco meal deal, I can say on Tuesdays you can get two tacos, chips, and a beverage for $7.00. And the tacos are pretty good-sized. In fact, most of the dinner plates I observed here were Taco Tuesday meals. But I wanted to try something more on the speciality side. I chose the enchiladas with the verde sauce. I didn't heat it up with any salsa - I actually forgot about that! But they were good in their own right. It does contain six items, but you can decline any of them if you choose to. The garlic lime bowl is something very much worth your time! You can choose from three different proteins and we had the beef version. It's sauced up well. The cheese and other veggies warmed on a layer of grounded beef and rice was pretty excellent and worth trying again in the future. I think customers would be happy with either of these. The service provided on this evening was pretty solid overall. They give good attention to the customer at the counter and the ones in the dining area. Tijuana as a whole is decent food. Just stopped in for an afternoon snack. Whole their food was good, it's a ghost town and for being slow, I would hope their dining room would have been cleaner. Had a great experience on this visit. Used curb side pick up for the first time and it was easy and hassle free. I waited less than five minutes for my chicken soft taco, beef hard shell taco and guacamole. Both tacos were fresh and delicious. My first time trying this particular place out as it was the closest Mexican restaurant to my fiancé old apartment. Not bad for a first time at all! Service was wonderful, helpful with any question in regards with the menu and kept customers up to date on the food if it's take out. While we came in within an hour of closing on a Monday night and most of the place was being cleaned, the staff did not view this as an issue, and gladly took our orders and promptly served us which was great! It took my years to make a visit to Tijuana Flats and now I wish I had come sooner. I have tried a lot of different items here since my first visit, but there is a lot of great aspects. I like this location as there is a lot of parking, it is generally clean, and there is outdoor seating. That was nice during the worst of Covid. The staff is very nice and they had a sweet Cinco de Mayo celebration with a ton of deals leading up. I love their burritos which are just as good if not better than Chipotle. They are also competitively priced, which I don't think is always the case with burritos in similar places. The chips are good, but what makes them great are the sauces. There are a lot of sauces to choose from. TF also serves beer in bottles or draft and you can get a sangria or margarita. I have had their sangria, which was okay, but the margarita was way better. The enchiladas here are really great and so are the tacos. Another awesome aspect of TF is the atmosphere is fun and I love the decorations. So disappointed.... maybe I was comparing locations? This T.F's is on Beach Blvd, in a corner unit of a strip mall. Parking is shared with several other businesses, so it's a crap shoot from the beginning. They do have reserved parking for pick up orders(Kudos)! Upon entering there's a cute little sign of "how to order." So we grabbed a menu and stood in line. We were patient with the new guy who took 18 minutes to get the order correct and our drinks. The crispy fish bowl that I had decided on, was "unavailable ".... After ordering a burrito (how can you mess that up, right?) we slid into a booth. So there's lots of tables and a few booths. Great for crowds or large families. My burrito was a great let down:(. I swear it contained an entire can of refried beans and maybe a tablespoon of rice, and lettuce. It had lots of tomatoes and was huge. My first bite was a mouthful of beans and flour tortilla. No flavor, no love. I barely ate half and I was done. Great if you only need fuel, disappointment if you want to enjoy flavor. I don't recommend this location. read more

We used to frequent Tijuana Flats on the Southside when we lived over there and it was well past time for us to try this location. Just West of Hodges on Beach Blvd- we were in thanks to Yelp Elite- I had scored access to an event to try their new street corn line and I took John and my kid and just bought an extra meal. We tried the Steak Street Corn Quesadillas, the Chicken Street Corn Quesadillas and an order of the beef nachos. Everyone swapped bites and each of us were very impressed. Service was fast and easy! Service was super fast tonight which is a plus, plus for me when I'm starving plus the staff was very friendly. I ordered the sweet corn quesadilla and my boyfriend the sweet corn tacos. Honestly glad I tried both of these tonight because it was so good I will continue to order this for as long as they are on the menu. I hadn't been to Tijuana Flats in a while because they had changed the seasoning on the chicken and it wasn't as good as it used to be until now. I could have done without the chili dust on mine but it wasn't overbearing. The fresh corn was so good and different plus all the other spices were all so delicious together. Only thing that was an inconvenience is that due to this location being short staffed they have changed their hours from 2pm to 9pm. No lunch hours at the moment. The Street Corn Takeover was a success. I ordered a steak street corn bowl and got a side of the street corn. I loved how the bowl came with guacamole and it did not cost extra. The bowl was delicious and the corn tasted fresh. I did not like my side or the street corn. It was served on the cob. I feel like it had to much Mayo on it. I would have preferred it to be off the cob and mixed together. I ordered my food online and picked it up as a to go order. As soon as I got to Tijuana Flats my order was ready. I went the day before and there was a sign on the door saying they were opening at 2pm due to issues. Tijuana flats was very nice and sent me a coupon for another free meal due to the inconvenience. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking. At least based on what we are is to when visiting this location. We were greeted as we walked in and was able to place an order without any issues. We went after the lunch rush so there were only a few people there and it was not busy at all. Once we were served our food we noticed several things wrong. Missing items and sides We got one of the employees attention and he acknowledge is and dropped what he had at a table, as expected, but then never came to us. I got up and walked to the kitchen entrance, as no one was behind the counter, and waited until someone noticed me. I was able to let them know what we were missing and they brought it right away. After that they never checked on us again. I had to go to the counter to get them. They also were slow to clean tables. Spawn #2 got a chicken burrito - she said it was good, but she had had better. Hubby and I both had blackened salads. We request fajita veggies to be added. They left then off. They forgot our dressing and side of queso. Once we had everything it was very good! read more

Since school has let out, there have been some hiccups with getting the order exactly right but nothing I couldn't live with and nothing that stopped me from going back. I went Tuesday with my wife for the Yelp Street Corn Takeover. It was the best experience I had in a while. I got the tacos and my wife got the flautas. Everything came out quickly and the order was 100% accurate. My tacos were delicious. I'm not sure if I like them more than what I normally get but they were very good. I'm almost embarrassed to admit but I have never been to Tijuana Flats. I called my order in ahead of time and the nicest gentleman took my order on the phone and provided me with a gluten-free option for my steak tacos. They were ready for pick up within five minutes and I started eating my food in the car because I could not wait. I was so pleasantly surprised at how fresh and tasty and well-made these were. They were absolutely filling that I only ate one and saved the other one for dinner. I snacked on the chips and salsa and it was delightful!! All the ingredients were fresh and very well prepared. Gosh I can't remember the last time I had Tijuana Flats; it's been a long time! So when this event popped up, I jumped at the chance for free chips and queso. I know the main event was the burrito but hey I'm a chips and queso kind of girl. Also, who am I to turn down a free burrito?? I placed my order online for the Beach and Hodges location. My Queso Crunch Burrito was ready literally as soon as I walked in the door. I hauled my wares back home and proceeded to dig in. I got the blackened chicken for my protein option. It didn't taste distinctly blackened but it was grilled and it was good. I do wish the garlic lime sauce stood out more because I didn't catch its flavor at all. The tortilla strips were a nice addition. Anyone who has ever added chips or Doritos to their sandwiches as a kid (or, ahem, as an adult) can appreciate the satisfying crunch the tortilla strips bring to the burrito. In fact, almost every burrito can lend itself to some type of crunchy element. I managed to eat half of my hefty burrito before I was full. It was easily at least two meals for me. I'd love to try a bowl version with the tortilla strips topping off the other ingredients. This was a great option for a YES Event and I recommend Tijuana Flats keep the Queso Crunch Burrito on board for awhile for anyone who is a chips-on-a-sandwich kind of person. read more

There were a lot of flavors wrapped up in that tortilla but they all went well together. Only downside is that it's only here for a limited time. They are frequently on the floor clearing tables. They will refill your drink for you or you can take it up to the counter for a refill. They have an interesting hot sauce bar. The hit sauce bar as nice options for everyone's tolerance level. The food is always a plateful. The food is tasty. If you are looking for a nice meal of tex-mex food at a good cost. I've been to Tijuana Flats plenty of times but today they catered our work lunch and it was perfection! The girl who set up, I believe Emily (I'm so sorry if that's incorrect), was fantastic! She was efficient and so sweet! Our director pulled out all the stops and I loaded up my taco salad with the grilled chicken, ground meat, and every veggie on the table! The Street Corn Takeover is a success! I enjoyed the corn they use for these new meals. I got the impression that these are fresh rather than frozen. Street Corn bow - This is a bowl mixed with all sorts of great stuff! It included black beans, guac, rice, some queso, corn and small pieces of tortilla. Those chips gave it a crunch it needed. The corn they use tasted fresh and it looks and feels like its freshly cut off the cob. Street Corn Quesadilla - I got this with steak...it has cheddar jack cheese, queso, cilantro, sour cream and some kind of lime sauce. The steak they use are pretty good size. Really good quesadillas. I'm a big fan of Tijuana flats. I've ordered individual meals from them as well as catering. When ordering individual meals from them- my husband and I really enjoy the take home taco kit. It is HUGE and easily feeds us both for 2-3 meals each. I also recently tried catering with them as I was hosting a larger group of guests in town and needed something easy for dinner. I was very impressed with the entire process- it was easy to order online for pickup but you can also have it delivered. Order minimum is 10 people and at 15 they include stands, sternos, & chafing dishes. When I arrived to pickup my order it was ready & waiting as well as conveniently packaged! Best of all the food was still HOT when we arrived home and no reheating was necessary. We went with the DIY Build your own burrito bar bowl and opted for the "mega" option which includes chips, dips, drinks, and dessert. It was very reasonably priced per person ($13.49) and left everyone deliciously full! Whether you're looking for a meal or catering- Tijuana flats is a GREAT option! read more

I have to say that I wasn't sure what to expect with these tacos and I can usually be pretty picky especially with some of the chain restaurants. I must say this is probably my favorite thing I've had at Tijuana flats it was well seasoned well balanced it was light it was perfect for the summer time. The chicken was even better than the beef but they were both equally really really good. Friendly service food came out quickly and was really good. Ordered the beef burrito with a side of guacamole and a soda. It was a little spendy at just over $12, but it was so good and it was like the size of a thermos!! They also have an awesome hot sauce bar. Tons of choices and some really good ones. I couldn't wait until Taco Tuesday so I stopped on a Monday night! Who says you can't have tacos EVERY.DAY. This is my second time here and they didn't disappoint. All workers are very friendly, they keep the place cleaned, your drinks refilled and come to your table to make sure everything is good. In the afternoon/evening they have happy hour prices on their beer. On Tuesday's they offer a taco meal deal and on Thursday's a burrito meal deal. I had one single chicken taco which came with chips but salsa is an extra cost. I also had the salsa/queso/guac sampler. They all had great flavor. Looking for some tacos senor? Well stop by this location and check out the awesome upbeat atmosphere that is Tijuana Flats. There is something about beer- comic book hero art, tacos, classic rock, and hot sauce that make this place a fun culinary retreat. The ceiling is adorned with tiles that patrons have taken home and painted with a Tijuana flats or hot sauce theme. Check out my addition to the ceiling in my review photos! On to the food- it's fresh. Very fresh. This place is always busy! They make their chips in house and there are all the classics on the menu from ridiculous burritos to floutas and even churros. Coke products for some - mexican and domestic beers for the rest. Not a huge selection but hey- after a some hot sauce from the "hot bar" you won't be able to taste the difference anyway. The service- Anywhere I review I always interact with the staff. To me, employees are a barometer of the business and it's culture both of which are important to me. Even though this place doesn't offer table service in the traditional sense- and even though it was pretty busy for its dinner rush- we were always well attended and had everything we needed. Shout out to Allyssa ( hope I spelled that right) for providing excellent service. She even hooked my 2 year old up with crayons with allowed us to scarf down the taco goodness!
