Medium veggie burrito, black beans, no cheese - yes, jalapenos! When it comes to the Flats I'm rather consistent and rather boring. However, I know what I like and I know that if I find myself here that veggie burrito will be good. This is no fuss, no frills Mexican (?) - TexMex (?) with good portions and a plentiful hot sauce bar. This particular location has maybe 15 different types of hot sauce but I've been to others with a much larger selection. The offer everything from mild to death wish so be sure to grab a few of those tiny plastic cups and go to town! Prices are reasonable. They also offer beer and wine. I'm not sure why people (including my boyfriend) 'love' TF but whatever. As you can read from the other reviews, all TFs sell good tacos and burritos. I would say this is upscale version of a taco bell. Good meats, good tortillas, and good toppings. I guess what I do like about this place is their skinny menu options. Not that many places offer low fat cheese or sour cream. I also like their salsa spread. This particular TFs ad good customer service and was really clean. The waitress kept the tables clean and made sure customer's drinks were full. I have been to other TFs where the service was just not good. So, overall yay! for this location. read more

A fine establishment, a fine one indeed. Not my regular Tijuana Flats that I go to, which in actuality is not completely true since it is close to the office and a possible lunch location for those lunch-less day but but this one was on the way back to the office from an errand, a convenient location at that since it happened to be right around lunch time. It is your standard Tijuana Flats with a friendly staff and the same good food items. However the one negative from this location is parking. At lunch time, finding parking is a bit of a challenge. Thankfully this time it was well after the noon rush, but normally, good luck! read more

Just had my second trip to Tijuana, first time this location. I went on Tuesday because of the two tacos, drink, and chips special for $4.99 They have good service and the food was fresh. If you get the chicken and avoid the chips it's a pretty healthy meal. I like the concept, it's simple food. I am just happy to have some alternative here in Oviedo. read more

Tijuana Flats - Chicken chimichanga wet with Verde. Absolutely amazing! - Mexican Near Me - Oviedo, Florida

I've been to this location only twice and both were just take out orders at night. However, the location is clean (which to me is way important) and the service was fast. I had the mega Chicken Chimichanga which was delicious especially since they had my favorite hot sauce "on tap". My brother, who had never eaten food from Tijuana Flats, was very disappointed with the tacos despite trying both the chicken and beef ones. Admittedly, I sometimes forget to order something when ordering but the girl at the cashier was cool about letting me add delicious churros to the order last minute. I think the chicken quesadilla is good but so far that and the chimichanga are the only things I've like (not counting the churros). I was sorta disappointed with the chips and their dips. TL;DR? Place is clean and employees friendly. Order the chicken chimichanga or quesadilla with rice and beans and live happily. Other items are at your own risk. I have loved Tijuana Flats ever since they had their very first location. The food is always consistently good. I've never been to any that are bad. My daughter & I usually share the chicken/refried bean (which are just mashed pinto beans) nachos. She likes it with nothing on top, and I like all of the toppings (lettuce, onions, sour cream, jalapeños, salsa, guac). Whenever we ask them to put the toppings only on one side, they don't seem to mind at all. My husband loves the chimichanga (basically a fried burrito), which surprisingly, doesn't have many more calories than a regular burrito. My youngest isn't a huge fan of their food, so we send her sister with her over to Smoothie King next door to get a smoothie for dinner while we order our food at Tijuana Flats. They also have outdoor seating, so I wouldn't even feel guilty getting something from the sushi place next door (also very good), or Firehouse Subs if one of us wanted that. read more

I haven't "frequented" this place in the past, but I am not sure why not. It is a convenient meeting place for my family after work for Taco Tuesday! They have a cheap happy hour that I am looking forward to trying. The food is usually out quick and I like the hot sauce bar. Tuesdays seem kind of disorganized, but I think it's just because they are so busy. You can tell they are working hard. I agree seating is hard to come by, and I prefer to sit in a booth, but one of them seems to be falling apart. The salsa is slightly sweet to me and the queso is tasty. I usually get the soft tacos or salad. It's pretty much the same ingredients, just organized differently. I like how you can customize what you get, though. read more

The food here is pretty good. There's better Mexican places, but I've never been disappointed by the food. However I cannot compliment the service of the staff enough. Every time I've been I'm further impressed by them. They go beyond being polite and friendly, and are genuinely helpful. Recently I put it a to-go order, and mentioned to the woman taking my order that I had to go next door to order a sandwich for my son. While waiting at the store next door for the sandwich a waitress from Tijuana Flats popped in with my order so that I would not have to go back in and pick it up. Tijuana Flats. I'd like to preface this by saying I eat regularly at 5 or 6 different Tijuana Flats in the area, usually the Winter Park unit, but also Lake Mary, Sanford, and Orlando locations. I've come to expect excellent service, good quality food, professional servers and a high level of overall competence from staff and management as that has been my experience at those locations. When I moved into my son's house in Oviedo I suggested we grab some Tijuana Flats as it is right down the road. My son said not to bother, this unit wasn't very good. After 6 months of living in the area, and giving the Oviedo unit a number of chances, I can say this is the worst Tijuana Flats in Central Florida. They have as yet to get a single order correct, the wait times are atrocious and the attitudes of the employees should be used as an example of how not to treat customers. If you are in Oviedo and are hungry for Mexican food, I'd suggest Habanero's, Taco Bell, or even some warm road kill slapped in a tortilla. I'd bet the road kill would taste better than the food at Tijuana Flats. read more

I had not been to TF for a couple of years, and my favorite had always been the burrito, chicken and re fried bean, with all of the fillings, and wet with salsa. We went last night to this location. OMG, that was the worst burrito I've ever had. Where the hell did you get that chicken...from a can, and from a third world country? Maybe it wasn't even chicken. The chunks were huge and tough, and tasted like each bite had 1000mg of sodium!!! Ick! It was take out and we were already home eating, otherwise I would have returned it! Tijuana Flats come on. For quick eats, I love Tijuana! Price is great and food is delicious! The staff in Oviedo is always awesome and friendly! It does get extremely crowded on Taco Tuesdays (I tend to avoid that night) but I love that they have outdoor seating available as well as indoor. Really good service, quick and friendly. Ingredients always seem very fresh and all the dishes have been very well prepared. My only quibble is that most of the food seems rather bland. Caveat, I'm partial to quite spicy Tex-Mex, and my wife likes it fine. Easy enough to spice things up with their excellent selection of add-on sauces. At first, I thought it was my hands so I washed them with scented soap, but as I continued to eat I kept getting whiffs of this odd smell. Tijuana flats is awesome, but this is the worst of the 5+ locations I go to. The quality of the food is a bit lower and the service isn't as friendly. I also got rejected for a guac refill which I get at every other place all the time!!! Take an extra five minutes and find another location. read more
