The burger had a great sweet-and-savory balance from the teriyaki glaze, pineapple, slaw, and shoyu mayo. It was messy in the best way, with plenty of flavor, and the fries were a solid side. The Lava Flow was also a highlight: tropical, creamy, fruity, and very photogenic. It felt like the perfect vacation drink. It's such a shame, because my wife and I love trying tiki bars whenever we go to a new place, but Tiki Iniki just feels like no one cares. At all. Service is slow. Slooooowwwww. Slow. The worst mai tai I have ever had. My god. Ordered the "top shelf" Mai tai, and it was absolutely brutal. First, it wasn't shaken OR stirred. What does this mean? It was served one ingredient on top of the next, room temperature, and tasted like a hot mess. We actually felt sick from it. The amount of syrup this bartender used was crazy. Food - 5 stars. Easily. Some of the best sauces I've ever tasted & obviously locally sourced ingredients. The basic green salad was absolutely incredible. The hot wings are unique in a very good way. They are definitely hot but have such a well balanced flavor profile. Even their fries have a dusting of magic on them. The sticky ribs are a must try. Ambiance is fun & lively. Tiki drinks are fun & strong. The only reason I held back a star is because we were a party of 2 waiting behind two larger groups of people to be seated. Multiple people were allowed to walk up & enter through the exit, then sit at the bar while we were patiently waiting to even be approached. We would have gladly sat at the bar, if anyone would have checked with us. I guess it pays to be aggressive here? The check in process during busy times should be regulated & monitored better. We stopped by here on a whim while cruising the north shore, just to catch a quick drink. We sat at the bar -- we requested outdoor seating but the host informed us that is reserved for "diners" even though the place was largely empty during mid-afternoon. The bartender was super friendly and engaged with her customers. However, there were only three beers on tap, none of which were particularly good, and the mojito that my wife ordered wasn't very good at all -- I routinely make much better at home. The atmosphere of the place is fun, however. We only tried a simple appetizer -- a shared order of fries as a snack -- so we can't really comment about the food. Was basic. Their famous iniki burger was just boring had better burgers here. The place was dirty a cob web fell on me while eating ruined the whole thing. Servers were just okay they gave me a weird feeling almost unsettling. My whole family ordered the iniki burger asked for medium rare got over cooked. And funny enough me the only one who asked for well done got medium rare and I know it wasn't a mix up because everyone else got cheddar on their burger except me. If you are looking for late night drinks while staying in Princeville or nearby, Tiki Iniki is the spot. One, there honestly may not be much else open late in the area. Two, they have a full bar. And three, if you are staying nearby, it is walkable, which is always a plus. Went to enjoy tiki drinks on the island. We were seated by our hostess to a table. When we were seated at our table, our waitress asked if we were eating, to which we said no. She asked if we told our hostess that we were only having drinks and we responded no, we were never prompted with that question. The following service was terrible. Our waitress had no hospitality and dropped our check off 5 minutes after receiving one round of drinks. We paid our check and then the MANAGER came by to clean our table and then repeated the same statement that we shouldn't be sitting in the dining area if we weren't eating. We dropped into Tiki Iniki while in Kauai on the recommendation of a friend who collects tiki mugs. Our party of five arrived for dinner and were told there weren't any tables available yet, but we could sit at the bar until one opened. That worked perfectly since we wanted drinks anyway. Our bartender, Jalen, mentioned he had just returned to working at Tiki Iniki after some time off. He was kind and attentive, and even when he wasn't sure how to make a certain drink, he quickly looked it up and had it in front of us promptly. After a little while, the host brought us to our table. The food was decent--good, but nothing particularly memorable. Service overall was fine, and they were accommodating in splitting the check across our group, which we appreciated. The main reason for our visit was to pick up some souvenir tiki mugs, and that mission was definitely accomplished. We got there right around 4:27, and they still let us order happy hour drinks, so no complaints there. The Mai Tais had a robust almond flavor, which just wasn't my favorite and not my go-to style on the island. We also tried the Big Kahuna, and that was solid. We had been to this place several years ago and looked forward to going back. Even though this is called a tiki bar it doesn't really give you a tiki vibe but the decor is cute. We got there about 1/2 hour into happy hour and the placed was packed. I walked back outside and the other people in line were getting ready to leave and I told them not to leave they were going to seat all of us. The hostess came back and seated everyone in the dining room. Our server (Basia)came immediately to our table to wait on us. Dinner menu wasn't available till 5 and just before 5 she brought us the menus so we could get our food order in first as the dining room a had filled up quickly. Food was good but a bit pricey but plentiful. I had the wings with the garlic thyme aioli(so good). My sister in law had the BBQ pork sliders and they were generously filled with pork very tasty. Hubby is a HUGE tiki bar and rum guy, and we were so looking forward to checking this place out. *the sign said to wait to be seated, even if going to the bar...we waited, no one came to us, so we walked to the bar...even asked an employee if it was okay and she just mumbled at us, no clue what she said..saw a cute and cozy area to the left and sat there *the people already sitting in that area had a bunch of drinks and told us the bartender was "flakey "...she went over to them, they told her we wanted to order ( we were literally a few feet away from them)... and she walked away... The Princeville location is super convenient, and though the spot is a bit older it seems to be taken care of. Onto the important part, our food. We ordered the Kalua pork plate with rice and mac salad, as well as two burgers. Everything was extremely overpriced, even for Kauai. The food was tasty, and the mac salad was outstanding, but I still can't justify $28 for a plain cheeseburger and fries. We had one blue Hawaiian, which, though delicious, was the most expensive yet. Tiki Iniki.. let's talk about it! We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children (3 years and 1 year). We visited on a Thursday night and had no problem getting in. The good: they let kids in and they actually catered to them. They put bubbles on while we waited, had coloring pages with lots of markers, and gave my 3 year old little tiki drink decorations like umbrellas and monkeys to play with. When you're traveling with young children this is very much appreciated. The decent: the food and drink. I ordered the fish and chips and Mai tai. I thought the fries were pretty good, and the fish was good except the breading was a little overdone. My husband's burger was tasty. I thought the Mai tai was weak though. Lots of ice and not a lot of power, especially for the price. Speaking of prices... The bad: the prices. They're high. It's not like I expect them to not be high, but they seemed excessively so for what you get. Also, the waitress did auto gratuity and didn't mention it until after we walked out and she wanted to verify that we meant to tip on top of the auto tip. At that point what do you want us to do? Take the tip back? It's an awkward situation. Auto gratuity on a party of 4 adults and 2 kids isn't exactly the same as a party of 6. Service in general was slow. I have a hard time distinguishing whether I should chill out and respect "island time" or if I am justified in wanting to speed things up when 2 kids are involved, but for how busy the place was (not very) I think we could have had a bit faster service.
