I stopped by this Tilly store inside the Valencia Promenade to look at hats since my wife was as shopping. They had some nice hat selection, the same as the Simi Valley store I visited a couple days ago and some skateboard too. A worker greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I told him I was just browsing and he told me about their clearance section. I also checked out their sunglasses and watches too. This store had their backpack selections at the checkout. This store has been at this location my whole life! Been shopping here ever since I was a kid, and still do so! They carry a range of clothes for men, women, teenagers, and even some younger kids clothing items as well. The store is well lit, organized, clean, has plenty of dressing rooms to try on your items, and accessories. They have an assortment of backpacks, shoes, Vegas, jewelry, hats, and Knick knacks. The workers are usually very friendly and happy to help! Quality of clothes is pretty good, they will last you for years to come. Prices have gone up, but they have everywhere! Went in with ny husband and it was empty. They had a lot of employees, but everyone was working, no one was standing around and/or gossiping and we were greeted several times by different people. In no way did they ignore, mistreat, or make us feel uncomfortable. We are part Hawaiian and very mixed with pretty much every race-- so not sure why there are reviews from people saying they are racist... we felt welcomed so idk. Maybe things have changed? $35 for a tiny crop top tank which probably took $2 to make is quite disgusting. It all comes from China. Why so expensive? Same clothing you'd find at Ross TJ max and target. Now for the boys section. Why are the only options for pants slim fit or skinny fit? Seems like discrimination to normal sized teenagers who don't want to look like they're wearing their sisters pants. Grossly overpriced for mediocre and limited clothing. Now for the employees. They have what seems like 20 employees walking around yet when you check out it's one person and they take 20 mins to check one person. The good: They have a lot of trendy teen clothes. You can find Dickies pants, sunglasses, bucket hats, bathing suits, phone cases, shoes, crop tops, off the shoulder tops, beanies, phone accessories, etc. So for females, it's odd numbered size jeans (3, 5, 7, 11, etc). That's how you can tell tween/teen clothes from adult women clothes. Adult women's pants are often in even numbers. They also have kids and teen trendy clothes.They carry a lot of clothing, accessories and shoes from surfer/skate brands that include: Vans, Santa Cruz, Hurley, Volcom, etc. They have a deal right now where you save $10 if you purchase $60 worth of stuff (with savings up to $100). The store is very large and organized. They have fitting rooms in the back that I believe are open at this time. There is plenty of parking in the lot because this place is located in a large plaza. They have lots of cool-looking graphic t-shirts. The bad: They have deals but it can be pretty pricey. I saw pants for $112 though they were on sale for $60+. I'd love this place if I were a teenager, but I probably wouldn't be able to afford half of the stuff. Walked into the store to buy my 13 year old a new sweater. No one greeted us nor asked if we needed help. As I was looking in the boys section the associate in that particular area looked at me, gave me a dirty look and stayed silent, but when a white woman was in the area she was greeted and asked if she needed assistance. This store is awful for its inventory of everything except female clothing. Tilly's corporate website describes themselves as a surf and skate shop but this store didn't get the memo. Yes, the prices are ridiculously high but the real problem is a dearth of actual surf products, particularly for boys. They've dedicated a large footprint to highly visible candy products but they don't carry boys rash guards. The customer service is equally non-existent in every possible way and my visit yesterday will be my last. I had to return a pair of boys swim trunks that I knew would likely be too large but I purchased anyway because I was in a pinch. When the return transaction was complete, the salesgirl Aubrey wadded up the bag and handed it to me while telling me to throw it away in the garbage can outside. That single action on her part will prevent me from ever entering the store again. The bag is now a receptacle for trash in my car. read more

Buyer beware. I just got ripped off for over $500. The Tilly's corporate office would take zero responsibility nor would they work with store personal to find a mutually acceptable compromise. Here's what happened: I took my 2 young sons to their Valencia store to buy back to school clothes/shoes, etc. we spent over an hour picking out their stuff, in a super crowded store and they were really excited, over the moon to get everything they wanted. Couldn't wait to get it home to try on and wear to school next week. After waiting in line to check out for close to another half hour, we finally got rung up. But the boys were happy so it was worth the wait. Right as the charge went through their (Tilly's) computer hung up. The store clerk had to start all over and ring it up again. Ok, so, a bit frustrating, but it was what it was. So he rang us up a 2nd time, and charge goes through... Comes back as declined. I figure it was my bank and a security hold.., fixable. But no. I looked online and Tilly's had debited $502 from my account (pending) the first charge had hit my account and held the funds. As there was less than $400 left in the account the re-charge didn't go through. Then he tells me he can't complete the sale, and give me my merchandise, because on his end the original charge shows as it was cancelled when their computer glitched. So he calls corporate. They say I must now wait until the pending charge is cleared by my bank (this is a Friday afternoon, facing the weekend without this happening). But according to Tilly's that's not their problem it's "unfortunately" my banks issue. WHAT THE BLEEP???!!!! I asked why the point of sale store TILLYS issuing a charge to my account of over $500 and not being able to recall it just as quickly was not their fault. The corporate rep got extremely snarky and basically blew me off saying it was between me and the bank not them, nor could they give me the clothes without finalizing the sale by printing a receipt. So now my kids are crying, I am holding up the line and super embarrassed as to onlookers it must look like I couldn't afford the clothes, and I am out the clothes and my $500!!!! Absolutely disgusted!!! So we had to leave, my kids are going mental, and I don't even have any assurance the charge will eventually drop off. No recourse at all! For all I know it could still be there next week and we're still out the clothes! I am more disgusted at their unwillingness to work with us... Even the on site store clerk suggested they take an old fashioned imprint of my card and run it through once the original charge had cleared. I had ID, live in the town, shopped there before, and they had my card info. But corporate refused and offered no other compromise. So right now they literally have my money and my merchandise and my kids are hysterical. Overall the worst shopping experience of my life. Utterly and totally appalled. Never again. Always plenty of service around to help out and a great selection for my daughter and oldest son. Seems to be a regular stop over the years for back to school stuff. Sign up for the email/mail list, frequently will you get discount coupons so it's worth the so called junk mail. Just a little disappointed because they stopped carrying shoes for my younger boys and it was nice to get them all shoes in one place. This store caters to a younger crowd focusing mainly on the clothing lines Volcom and Roxy and the like. I do however, tend to find some pretty cute things in there whenever I go. VERY VERY disappointed with Tilly's in Valencia as well as their corporate office and thought I would use the power of social media to share. Tristan, my 6th grader, was assigned a project today. To make math more fun and exciting, he was told to find out how many Vans shoes, on average a month, are sold at Tilly's, SCV. We called Tilly's in Valencia and they touted some rule about corporate not allowing them to divulge that information and to call corporate. We called corporate in Irvine, CA and they told us to contact the local store as they don't have access to that info. I asked if they would give permission to the local store to give my son an average number and Victoria in Store Operations tried to make something happen, but told me that because they are a publicly traded company, they can't give that info out. REALLY?????? If you are publicly traded, then why hide this information...and from a 6th grader no less. I'm sure I could look it up. He didn't even need their exact numbers for the year. He needed an average....was it not a difficult question. Was it more like 10 pairs or 2000 pairs? Sheesh....way to be a part of Awesome Town and help out our kids. Worst experience ever!!!!! Visited the store this past Saturday 09/17/18 to purchase Vans for my daughter. After a few minutes waiting for assistance a girl representative approach us and asked if we needed assistance. My daughter asked for a particular size and the Rep went to look for the shoes, she came back with the box and stating that she only had the display shoes in that size. I said ok we would like to purchased them. I asked for a Discount since it was display and obviously people try them on so that means it's not a new pair! She seemed annoyed by my request and stated that the shoes weren't damage but I did tell her you can see a big difference from the display shoe and the one inside the box. She said she can only give me 10% and she added "and it will be final sale you can't return them" wow ok! When I was at the cashier I asked the rep to ask for Erynn to come over as Erynn asked me to do when I was ready to pay. Erynn came over and still with a very unprofessional attitude. As I was speaking with my son I can see from the corner of my eye Erynn making gestures to another employee standing next to her obviously not speaking loud but clearly talking about me I turn and look at them and she stop. I'm Latina Im fluently bilingual and I also can read body language. This made me feel very uncomfortable and it was very Unprofessional from their part. I usually go to this location and the service is just okay but my daughter likes the clothes. Yesterday had several issues with a female Manager. First she was having a conversation with another worker in the back by the fitting rooms about the other girl "coming out" in front of me and my young children. Don't care about your sexual preferences and why would you have that type of conversation on the sales floor. Terrible customer service, the lady walking around who opened a changing room for me was very nice, but the cashiers were rude and show no interest in being helpful and pleasent. The fact that anyone in there was nice is an Improvement from the last time I shopped there (2 years ago) believe it or not. Still horrible customer service... Which is also hard to believe. read more
