After comparing a few other photographers, we landed on Storytellers because of their beautiful editing style, and we knew we would be in good hands with experienced professionals. We worked with Anel for our engagement photoshoot, and she was a complete gem. My husband and I are not picture people, and she was able to get us comfortable in front of the camera. Those pictures turned out beautifully. For the wedding, we worked with Anel and Andrew for photography, and Marilyn for videography, and I cannot stress how amazing it was to work with all of them. I was a bundle of nerves the day of my wedding, and not once did I have to worry about anything not being captured. If anything, being around them helped ease our nerves a bit, because they were all so nice to be around. We went with a full nine hour package, and by the end of the day, it felt like we all had gone through a journey together. Weddings are wild. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else! It was like having a close friend as our photographer. Truly. She was so thoughtful and thorough. It's so obvious she takes pride in her work. We booked Hillary for two sessions: our courthouse ceremony in Phoenix and then a few days later for a small intimate ceremony with family in the Sedona Red Rocks with an elopement session direrctly following the ceremony. Hillary was always responsive with her communication. She made herself available a few times to talk over the phone to ask some logistical questions I had. For the consultation, Hillary was personable and also professional. I immediately felt comfortable with her and she genuinely answered any questions I had. A few other photographers I spoke to prior to Hillary seemed to not want to divulge their recommendations (e.g., florists, ceremony location ideas, etc.); this was not the case with Hillary. The photoshoot locations we chose were actually recommendations of Hillary! Our photos turned out incredible (and a quick turnaround time, too)! The pictures are moody just as I wanted. She adjusted my hair and dress when it needed to be, which I truly appreciated her catching those details. She was so helpful at the courthouse; she even offered to help me use the bathroom since I didn't have anyone else there to assist me. She also did great getting family in line for the family photos in Sedona. Hillary arrived early to both sessions so that was great for peace of mind knowing she was already there. The photographers were not the ones she was told who would do the shoot. They seemed very much in a hurry to leave and not very professional. I personally had to adjust clothing on several of the wedding party when they were about to take a picture. Honestly many of my phone photos were better. Not sure if this was a just a fluke but I don't think so because when she asked for a partial refund they said no and wouldn't even talk about it. So I would not recommend a company that doesn't stand behind their work.

From the start I had said I wanted scenic Mountain View family portraits. We had family come in from three states, 13 people total. To get everyone together was special, so we wanted photos. The initial location Travis suggested was too far for some on my family. He then suggested another location and said it would be a great place for a session. Why wouldn't I think it had scenic Mountain View's after I stressed how much I wanted that. We got there and Travis searched for 15 minutes for a place to take photos. Why wasn't he prepared? Why did he suggest this place? Then the photos were chaos. He didn't suggest poses (like he said he would) or help gather the kids (again, like he said he would) and we didn't capture the sunset (like he said he would) because of the terrible location. Then I get the photos. They don't look great. We took photos on a tee box (golf) and there were divots everywhere. Why didn't he edit those out? He said he would send edited photos. So when I asked him to edit them, he made me feel guilty. Like it was my fault. But he was suppose to send me EDITED photos. Then , this is the ridiculous part... the photos were only on the website for 20ish days to choose before he charged you for keeping them on there for longer. WHAT?! That was never discussed and I'm still laughing how ridiculous that is. I just paid a hefty fee for photos and you want to nickel and dime me... absolutely not. Lastly, I asked him if he can edit a small red mark over one of my family members faces (5 photos) and he wanted to charge me $7 per photo. He messed up the location, sent me unprepared photos and created stress during the session, and he couldn't have said - no problem, let me do this for you to try and make things better. Nope- very money hungry. If you want your photographer to show up in sweats, unprepared, don't suggest poses and want to take a lot of your money. He's your guy.

Yes, I ran the NYC Marathon in 2021, but just this year did I finally get around to purchasing my finish line photo. After utilizing Adam's Photoshop skills in the past, I reached out to him to see if he could work his magic, and he exceeded my expectations. Attached you will see the before and after where Adam was able to remove three people that were crossing the finish line at the same time as me so now the focus is fully on me which feels super special. And he was even able to fill in the text on the ground that those people were previously blocking which wowed me. I rarely have a good race photo as I haven't figured out how to look photogenic while sweaty and in pain but that is a lesson for another day.
