We chose this company based on decent reviews and being local. We were really looking forward to having our new carpet installed, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. We were simply forgotten not once but twice come time of install. After the first missed appointment, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, having it happen a second time was unacceptable. Scheduling with Bruce is when things went downhill. He did offer several options for install dates however us getting off work to match their schedule was the challenge. We called the day prior of the first scheduled install appt to ask their eta. Bruce tells us he simply messed up, he forgot us and couldn't do the job. After the first forgotten appointment, we gave Bruce the benefit of the doubt because everyone is human and mistakes happen. We scheduled a second time a couple of weeks out. Strike two. No one shows up for install. Completely unacceptable. We then decided it wasn't worth the stress to try a third time. Our PTO is more valuable than waiting around for a crew that has no sense of simple communication and respect of customers time. What made the situation more frustrating was the lack of communication and accountability. The apologies felt half-hearted, and no one seemed willing to take full responsibility for what happened. A simple update would have gone a long way and not a blame game between an installer and an owner. I understand that unexpected issues can arise, but showing up for scheduled appointments or communicating when you can't should at least be the bare minimum. Customers rearrange their work schedules and personal lives for these appointments, and their time deserves to be respected. Tim Hogan happily refunded our money for the job. It's just unfortunate because we were giving a local family owned business a chance and things didn't work out. I do hope scheduling and communication is improved so future customers don't have the same experience. I typically leave 99% positive reviews for businesses so I will add that Jim was a pleasure to work with. He came out to quote the work and then helped us pick out the carpet and padding in the showroom. We were able to communicate effectively with Jim throughout the entire process, from the initial quote through final payment. We truly appreciate his professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to communicate every step of the way. We definitely want to recognize and praise Jim for providing such a positive experience and being easy to work with. read more

We purchased a home with carpet from the 80's and glitter popcorn that needed to be updated. Everyone at Tim Hogans are GREAT! Kay, Michael, Bruce and all the others that work for Tim Hogans, THANK YOU! They came to our home, listened to our questions and our concerns to our uneven subfloor and floor joist before we decided to move forward. They worked with our schedule, came back to add more rooms to the project as we were renovating the whole 2nd floor. The service and price for BEAUTIFUL floors was worth every penny. I agree with Matt and Constantine. This was a disaster. The Three Stooges would have done a better job - this was a simple floor installation. Damage to flooring with scratches and gouges from putting the furniture back in place. The tile installer did not come out at all - I had to remind Hogan they needed to come out and this was part of the job. Carpet pad was not installed. Fireplace molding not completed and some thresholds not completed. Grout stains in driveway where tile installer did his work that are still there. Extensive construction dust everywhere and had to pull teeth to get them to send out a cleaning crew. I had to miss work to address these numerous issues and meet with this guy Bruce. It was like I was the project manager and he would call me and say how is the job going and I would have to tell him all that is wrong and had to coordinate all - just like a project manager! I had to meet with all these people for them to come back out and to address the issues and miss work! I should have charged them a project manager fee. Then when all is finally done he gives excuses and basically says I am the problem. Wow! I am used to construction issues but these guys are bums.... read more

We are getting ready to sell our home. We want to do Our craft room and laundry room with new linoleum. Have been driving by Tim Hogan's for years and never been in. THAT won't happen again. We stopped by on a Sunday. Found a great linoleum remnant they had at an unbeatable price. The salesman Don Andrews, was personable and helpful all around. So by Friday we had great new flooring in two rooms done by a very friendly and professional installation crew. Last time we did a Big box store we waited six weeks for install. We still have two rooms to do ( carpet this time). And we will be getting it from here also. Go see them. read more

Tim Hogan's just finished installing our new carpet and pad in a whole house full of furniture and a mess from the water damage....but their installer was no nice about all the heavy furniture and was so kind to my husband who is 76 but kept trying to help anyway, it was "no...wait, we'll get it".....this is what I call exemplary service - over and above...and Alan helped pull this all together and helped me choose the right carpet, even when I changed my mind on the original carpet I had chosen at the last minute when he showed me a roll of something they had in stock. I recently bought an older home, and decided to redo the downstairs flooring before we moved in. After searching for a contractor, I decided to go with Tim Hogan's Carpet. The job included replacing old carpet in 3 bedrooms and running laminate wood flooring throughout the rest of the downstairs. At the same time I was also remodeling the kitchen/eating area. The sales person at Tim Hogan's was made aware that they would need to coordinate with the remodeling contractors and that the flooring installation would need to be done in phases; carpet first, then laminate flooring in the rooms that were not be worked on, then the rooms that were being worked on when the remodeling contractors made the space available. Since it wasn't required, I was not present during the installation of either the carpet or laminate flooring. I would go to the house to see the work at night after I got off of work. When inspecting the work after the carpet was installed, I noticed that the carpet had not been stretched correctly in some areas, a seam was plainly visible, and that the carpet did not extend into the doorway like it should have. I notified the salesman of the issue the next morning. I was assured that the issues would be corrected by the installation team that would be installing the laminate floors. The "Proud Owner", Bruce Barney, even called me and assured me that the issues would be handled and that "I had enough to worry about with the remodel, but I need not worry about these issues." During the first day of the laminate installation, the flooring contractor reached a point where they needed access to the area being remodeled, but the remodeling contractors were still working and could not give them access. Bruce Barney called my wife about the issue and was rude to her about having to coordinate with the other contractor. This was the first time he had spoken to my wife, and he found it appropriate to be rude with her. After the first day of the laminate floor installation, I went that evening to confirm that the carpet issues had been taken care of. They had not. The installers did exactly what I told the owner and the sales person NOT to do, and what I was assured, by the sales person and Bruce Barney, would not be done. I had no choice but to live with the mistake because there wasn't time to correct the issues before I needed to move into the house. It took a third trip by the installers, me being there to supervise them, and a visit from Bruce Barney to get the issues that could be resolved handled. The second phase of the flooring went smoother with a different installation crew. I am now living in the house. I am still finding places where corners were cut, and the quality of installation is lacking. I wish I would have gone with another contractor for my flooring. This was an expensive mistake. read more

I had beautiful redwood floors that needed to be refinished in my living and kitchen area because of sun fading. This company first ruined my hardwood floors, with scratches and gouging and went ahead and stained it anyway. I came home to see it, and almost cried!! It was seriously the worst I had ever seen. I wanted to fire them, but could not find anyone who would come in and take over a terrible job. So I spoke to the boss and he tried to make things right, but in the end, I still have floors that are not nearly as beautiful or as smooth as they were originally. I think they may have also used water based urethane which I've since been told leaves a rougher finish than oil-based urethane. I definitely do NOT recommend this company ever!!! read more

I went to Tim Hogan's warehouse in Lakeland and talked with Bradley Leggett.I selected the Karistan carpet for the dining and living room.It was a beige color,which is neutral. I forgot the pad choice but it was about the average pad.Bradley came to my house and measured and thought the quarter round could stay on and not have to be removed.I agreed to the price for carpet,pad,and removal of the old carpet and pad.In a few days Alex and his helper came out and installed the pad and carpet with great attention to the details.They also removed the old pad and carpet and took them away.I was told there would be a seam or two but I cannot see it.I was very pleased with the final product.I was surprised the quarter round did not have to be removed.Because the tacking strips were fairly close to the baseboard the installers were able to just push the carpet under the quarter round.Overall I thought Tim Hogan's did a great job. read more
