I've been to Tim Horton's in Detroit, Mississauga, Glasgow and now Pasay City. But Tim Horton's in Chicagoland - nada, none, zilch, wala, so why is that?! Should I write Trudeau, Bieber, GSP, Drake, who??
Anyway, the service was friendly at this Tim Horton's, it's right next to Mall of Asia and has a little bit of competition from Starbuck's Roastery which is just about 2 blocks down the street.
I really enjoy their French Vanilla Cappucinno mix, it's quite good, just add some hot milk to make it extra creamy. I also got an assortment of the Tim's bits, now were these better than Dunkin's munchkins?? On this particular day, I think so, those old fashioned bits were heavy and soft, with a nice glazed coating.
The Caramel Macchiato hot lacked the notes of a dark roasted bean and the depth of coffee flavor that I'm normally accustomed to. It was definitely under-extracted, the Espresso that is. Perhaps the grind was not fine enough?? In fact, the hints of caramel were ephemeral at best.
This is really a 3.5 stars but I like their cocoa and cappucinno mix and those Tim Bits were really good. Tim Horton's, we need you desperately in the northern suburbs of Chicagoland. read more
