The end result is good - floor looks nice. Installation on the other hand was a total nightmare. Communication nonexistent, and I spent DAYS at home waiting for people to show up who simply didn't, and no one would respond to any kind of contact from me, be it phone, text or email. Extremely frustrating process.
Extremely bad service has moved me to review on line for the first time…read more * They didn't return calls or answer emails and didn't turn up when they were meant to. * The floor was laid badly and had to have them back to fix a lot of defects. * Cost us time and money because they didn't show up when they were meant to and didn't deliver the complete order. This caused delays for other tradesmen. Staff were rude and argumentative and tried to blame us when they didn't deliver our skirting boards. Said we hadn't given them all the information. Didn't even apologise when I produced an email showing they'd had the information for nearly two months. * Leaked concrete-like levelling compound into the carpet in an adjoining room and gave us a can of supermarket carpet cleaner and told us to clean it ourselves. Not surprisingly it didn't remove concrete that had set. Took over a month for them to deal with the damage and only paid for it after we threatened to take action. A totally unpleasant experience.

I contacted Geotech Built for a quote, out of apparently good reviews. However the experience was…read moreso bad that I decide to take the unusal step to white this review. On Tuesday I contacted John and he said there would be $360 for the come out and ininital inspection. The invoice was not received on Wednesday so I called him on Thursday to chase up. He eventually sent the invoice at the end of the day and I paid for it. I am serious about the inspection and I am not after free lunch. I also double confirmed with him that he would come between 12 and 2pm as I have other schedule afterwards. On Friday 12:40 he texted me saying stuck with work and 1 hr away, asking if still ok. I called back and found out it was impossible for him to make it even I waited till 2:30pm. He offered to come "first thing tomorrow". I agreed. On Saturday, instead of 9am he promised, he texted at 8:50 saying 10am. Yet at 10:15 still no sign of him. I rang him and literally asked where he was. To my surprise he took a huge deal of if and blamed me to be rude. I pointed out that it was even more rude and unacceptable to be late for the appointment, twice in a row, and when the customer paid $360 for it. He then became defensive and used excuses such as family issue, "we are not machine" blah blah blah. He clearly doesn't care that the customer also has family, and has wasted time simply because he didn't show up. If a business constantly doesn't keep their time promise is bad enough to avoid dealing with, then combined with a terrible attitude is worth alerting others.

We were advised Michael, the Project Manager, was helpful and gave them a competitive quote for the flooring and installation. We had seen the finished product at their apartment and were keen to find out more. I looked up the website and was impressed by the many positive reviews from happy customers. A woman from Mascot couldn't be happier with her floors; a man from West Ryde said the Bamboo floors he got were fantastic; and a woman from Turramurra said they went above and beyond! I emailed Michael asking if he would be available to come out and check our apartment to get a quote (I note that you can make contact through the website too). After receiving a prompt reply we settled on a time and date that suited us both. Michael made the trip out to our apartment measuring up the floors to see how much flooring we would need. We decided to make the trip to Strathfield to pick the flooring in person. To keep prices low their showroom is really just the front of their warehouse. There is so much flooring to choose from. Keep in mind the colour, style, width, timber type.. you would like. We settled on Natural Oak Laminate. A detailed quote was then emailed to us which included the flooring, installation and removal and disposal of the existing old carpet. This morning the floors were finished and we couldn't be happier. We are thrilled with the finish and how good they look and feel underfoot. Highly recommend Power Floors for all your flooring needs. No fuss just friendly and helpful service with a great product to boot.

They did a pretty shoddy job on a number of levels - weeks later we realised they had managed to spray the varnish onto paintwork on walls which we now have to repaint less than a year after doing them. He broke a light switch, butchered an almost new bed, and didn't want to claim on his insurance so offered a tiny amount of compensation which goes nowhere near what we have ended up out of pocket on all this. Absolutely not recommended

We bought some porcelain tiles from OTC (recommended by our builder) for the kitchen area of our newly purchased house. The area is small thus only a small amount of tiles i.e. small customer in their eyes. We were given faulty tiles which we only discovered after they were laid, they were patchy and extremely obvious under sunlight. OTC claimed that they are dirty and will fade over time. We engaged a professional tile cleaning company to assess, results confirmed that they were faulty. We confronted OTC which refused to take any responsibility . They insisted tiles were okay and that no refund will given since tiles were already laid. They even went on to say that the one on display in their showroom does not have this problem. In simple words, they do not care and its our own problem not theirs! Extremely unhappy and will be lodging a complaint against them. Customers, please be careful.
6th review and update So where has the time gone? wow I've…read morelost a couple of months. A lot has happened since my last review. The frames went up quickly and then the windows/doors and the brickwork was not far behind, the roof frames and tiles were put up and wow then the site was like a beehive, timber flooring laid, electricians doing wiring, plumbers, air-conditioning , central vac and then the gyprock , kitchen cupboards, fix out (architraves, cupboards skirting boards doors etc) vanities fitted in the bathrooms' and the cupboards in the laundry, then the cornices fitted, next came the tilers to do the stone floors on the verandas, foyer, bathrooms and can I say they did a lovely job..yey..now the plumbers have been laying all the services from the street down our very long driveway to the house. I'm sure I've forgotten something! oh yes in between all the going on selections regarding lighting have taken more time than you could imagine. As the Basix requirements stipulate Led lighting is a must and to comply much research has been done regarding down lighting oh and that can really do your head in so what have we decided to use you say? well remembering the led down lights come in kit form- (no changing of bulbs when they die you must replace the whole unit, but bare in mind you get from 30,000-70,000 hours from each light and they are under warranty from 3-7yrs ) - each varying in price from roughly for quality not cheap units the range in price from say $44-$89 you can get less expensive but you do tend to get what you pay for..you have been warned..it came down to brands called Bright Green and Sunny both from our research perform well..There is a website called ledbenchmarks which review led lighting well worth a visit for those interested. So that decision must be made in the next two weeks...The painters are due to start within a few days which takes just over a week and a half then the lights fitted and then the little things like towel rails, carpet laid , shutters fitted etc plus I am sure numerous other things before the last fitted- the kitchen appliances, which will roughly be six weeks give or take. For our part we have to organise the start of the refurbishing of the pool area, landscaping and eventually the concreting of the driveway..so much to do, so little time! ps:Getting quotes for everything takes up a lot of your time , but it is worth it...
