Outside is wonderful with a nice patio, plants, and plenty of shade. With the warm weather, this was a popular spot for folks. Service was friendly but limited. You order and pay for your food and drinks at the bar, they bring it out to you and that's it. I had a Lemon Chicken Pesto Sandwich. It was fine but nothing spectacular. I wish there was more filling to the sandwich, it was very bready. The fries (chips) were crispy and soft. My group enjoyed their meals as well and they looked good. Bath has lots of eateries and shops. If you're going to the Roman Baths or are in the main area, Crystal Palace is a nice spot to stop in for a bite or drink. The dog basically uses the wheel like a treadmill which turns the spit on the other side of the wall over a fire. The pub has low ceilings and doors typical of its 675 year history. Outside is a courtyard with additional seating complete with a stockade. We enjoyed a pint of the Wadworth's 6X Original Ale. The beer was delicious. The bartender was friendly to our motley crew.
