If you've ever been to DisneyQuest in Orlando, it's sort of a smaller version of that, geared toward a younger crowd. They have a "participant" ticket for 1500 pesos which includes access to all the attractions and a "non-participant" ticket for 350 pesos. Non-participants get to walk around the facility, as well as the Shrek House and Madagascar areas. Basically a cheaper chaperone ticket for the adults that are accompanying the children. You can also upgrade from your ticket at any time if you decide you want to take part in the fun. There's also a VIP pass for 2999 pesos which includes a meal (food, drink, and ice cream) and the ability to skip the line. Although when we went there weren't really many lines for anything so I'm not sure if it's worth it. We only got non-participant tickets just to take a look around but even that was pretty fun. The facility is well designed and well maintained it feels like a legitimate theme park. Even just walking around the themed areas was entertaining and there were various activities scattered around. We got lots of cute pictures and even got a pic with Alex the lion from Madagascar. Although we didn't try any of the attractions they also looked like a ton of fun for kids. It includes things like ropes course, cooking class, theater, and lots of games. DreamPlay is definitely a place to check out if you've got children, especially if they're a big Dreamworks fan!

When we came back at 3:50 pm I was not allowed in because I was not wearing a badge. I told her I was just there to really watch Jerome and when I did the reservation I was not wearing one either. The young girl was obviously not aware of Autism and so is her idiot of a Manager. Seriously? I really don't mind paying an upgrade if it was mentioned when I made a reservation for my son. All other staff at the center was pretty accomodating with my son. FYI my son was wearing a medical bracelet. Grown up kids all excited to get suited up, it was the dorkiest I've felt in a long time. They said we only had 30 minutes inside and I felt a bit bad for paying so much money for just half and hour but when you're running in the dark with a laser gun strapped to your chest, it does get pretty tiring. So the end goal is to get as many hits to your opponent's target without getting hit yourself. Each vest is equipped with a sensor that you should aim at, when you're hit, your gun temporarily shuts down and you'd have to wait until it's turned on again. I was a girly girl growing up so you can imagine the struggle I had aiming at boys running at lighting speed. But it's all good fun and even if I finished last on several occasions, yes we've been here more than once, it's a great place to blow off steam and burn off a few calories.

I got to experience Lazer Maxx with some officemates for a team building activity and it's been a very memorable experience. You will be divided into two teams and you each have a gun or what they call phasors. You will also wear a vest with sensors on it that your opponents will try to hit with their lazer and different points are given based on the location of the target that you hit. Sorry but no headshots here. They assign you a cool code name like Achilles or Perseus so you can keep track of your own score. Once everyone is ready then they release you in their arena. And then all hell breaks loose. I mean, you are in this dark arena with guys shooting lazers at you and you're trying to shoot back and you're trying to take cover while a comrade is asking for cover. The game is so frantic that the fifteen minute game play seemed like an hour for me. I exited the arena sweating and panting like I just ran a marathon. So yes, bring an extra shirt if you can. There are some things that I find interesting in this experience. For one, this is a game of wits. There are holes in hiding places that you can exploit to gain advantage over your opponent. It's fun to just go crazy and shoot at everything that moves but you'll just end up getting shot more by the other team. Strategies are needed. Plan the position of your team and make sure that someone covers your back at all times. On a side note, the game brings out hidden personalities and you get to see peolple for who they really are.The cute, prim and proper girl in the office is suddenly shooting wildly like a homicidal maniac who just drank a gallon of Red Bull. You also get a glimpse of who has a hidden angst against the boss, the one who has his target on your manager at the onset of the game. Or the one who keeps on "accidentally" hitting you even though you're on the same team. This is one of the most fun experience I've had. Your calves will be aching afterwards along with other muscles you didn't even know existed but it will definitely be worth it.

The first animal encounter / restaurant concept that I've tried is Barkin' Blends - country's first dog café. The place was great. Though small, it is well-maintained with a separate area for diners who just want to enjoy their selection of coffee and frappes. They also have some rice meals, pastas and sandwiches. Then there's the dog zone. With an entrance fee of P180, it already comes with a drink. The dog zone is a nicely decorated area with some witty dog-related pictures like The Beagles (a pun on the Beatles), A Pug's Life and more. It has several tables and benches inside so you can keep your things and your drinks away from the doggies. But inside, you'll see that most people get really comfortable and are on the floor so they can pet the many wonderful breeds inside. You can interact with their dog residents: Psyche the Beagle, Finn, Marley and Robin the playful Golden Retrievers, Martha the Irish Setter, Smile the Pug, Fiona the Chinese Sharpei, Ella the Chiweenie, Piolo the Labrador Retriever, Skye the Siberian Husky, Bonnie and Clyde the Toy Poodles, Booster, Yoda and Vader the Lhasa Apsos. All the dogs are vaccinated and are well-behaved, so if you follow their rules about handling, you're relatively safe. Most of them are still very young puppies, so it is important to handle them with care. Since they have been in the café for a few months now, they're pretty much used to human interaction and are really very sweet and friendly. I love how clean this place is and how responsible the owners are for the well-being of the dogs. There are quiet caged areas so the dogs can rest when they get a little too excited or too playful (like the doggie version of a time out). This is a great place for dog-lovers and even for kids (my two-year-old really appreciated the visit and had a lovely time petting the different dogs that she would otherwise only see on TV). Worth a second, even a third visit for that relaxing, therapeutic experience.

You have to pay 180 pesos to enter the dog zone. It's inclusive of one free drink, but you can't drink it while inside the dog zone. A single person is only allowed to stay in the dog zone for two hours. If you don't want to play with the puppies, you can always enjoy Barkin' Blends's refreshing beverages, rice meals, and sandwiches. Barkin' Blends makes sure that all puppies are well-taken care of. They have a shifting schedule to avoid any of them to get too exhausted.

But here now's a cool place that brings the library and play-gym thing together for the ultimate activity place for kids! There are several Kevin's' branches already in the metro and each one has a different design and layout, but all have similar themes of ships and pirates and castles. My sister-in-law is a hands-on working mom so I like to help her once in a while by taking my…read morelittle nephew to the mall during weekends. But since my nephew is almost two years old, he likes to run around, climb every elevated surface he sees, and fidget nonstop when instructed to sit and wait. Taking care of him is fun but tiring. One time in Mall of Asia, we passed by a Kiddy's Arts Town stall, he immediately showed interest because there were a lot of kids in the place. Before he could change his mind, I brought him inside the craft store and paid for a Color Buddy, an art product wherein kids can paint art patterns of their choice. My nephew's more musically inclined so I was afraid that he would not like the painting activity that entailed sitting for more than 10 minutes. I was surprised that he sat for about 15 minutes and was patiently splashing colors to his pattern of choice, which was a fish. The end product looked more like an amoeba than a fish but I was happy that I had fifteen minutes of respite from all the tugging and running. Plus, he was very proud of what he had done and kissed me profusely for letting him play with colors. We gifted my nephew's artwork to his lolo and lala. It's now framed and displayed in our home in the province.
