I have never had a problem with an of the alterations. I have also had a dress altered as it used to slip off my shoulders, that was more tricky, but again they managed to fix it with ease. The owner and his wife and so lovely, you can always be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome. One day while walking to work, my button fell off my dress, I went into the shop and they sewed it back on while I stood there. No charge for it either as they know me as a customer. The service is usually next day, but sometimes you can ask for them to do it quicker if you desperately need something done.

He…read morecouldn't handle a simple question about a repair to an expensive hand-made shoe and I was brusquely put in the picture about how good he was, how many years he's been in business & that there's no-one better in the Aberdeen area. Picking up the repair, we had a second altercation after I spotted marks on the shoe. They may well fade - compression from lying against others in the collection bin, he said - so no real damage done, but for a second time the verbal exchange was unpleasant. His apprentice is okay, but the owner/manager's attitude stinks.

Today I went in for a quick repair on a school kilt. Within 5 minutes I was out, repair done at no cost. A great place that is my standard go-to place for any alterations that I need to have done. We had been traveling in Scotland for over a week, but were still having trouble always understanding folks, so by putting our arrival time and place in writting, we were assured they got the info. Our driver was there waiting for us and was the same friendly person that picked us up the next day for our return to the train. The rates were very reasonable - In fact, use them instead of the bus if you want to ride up to Dunnottar (but do walk back).
