I was told that the patient needed "intensive psycho therapy" with NO explanation. She suggested that the patient have "intensive psycho therapy" several times a week "if I could afford it". Third appointment was cancelled by Mrs. Gowins due to "broken air conditioner". She also assumed that I could not afford her services, and offered the next appointment "free". Unfortunately she never called to reschedule that "free" appointment. I feel she ripped me off - 2 appointment at $85 each and NOTHING to show for it but some uneducated assumptions as to the mental state of the patient. Stay far away from this woman. I believe she is senile.

I just happened across a notice with a discounted price for the establishment. I didn't know anything about hypnosis so had no idea what to expect. My friend and I arrived at the agreed time, & I have to say it was a pleasure meeting Dawn Gowins, (hypnotist and owner). She was very professional and to my surprise she was able to help us both. I thought we would receive a scaled down version of her process because of the discount coupon..... NOT. You can tell Mrs. Gowins loves what she does and wants to make a difference with each person as they come through her door. She does not rush through any part of what she does. I waited to give a review to both fully appreciate what occurred and to see if the advice took hold with continual actions...... I said Hello? No answer. I got scared and said "this is creepy" with a chuckle said hello again and heard a voice say to come up. Walked up no one to greet me looked down a hallway ( this is on the second floor of an old house that is now being used as offices ) saw a still and a tray with a laptop on it walked down toward end of hall and Chris was standing in his office looked and me and said I wasn't a candidate for this treatment. I said excuse me and he told me he didn't think I would be a good fit because I'd have to take direction. He didn't offer me a seat. He didn't ask me any questions. I'd spoken to him three time on the phone once to ask about costs and once to schedule the screening. Then called that day to ask where to park and enter the building. He then asked my goal and my profession. Again said I wasn't a candidate because I said it was creepy in there. He kept pacing in his office and looking at the floor. I kept my eyes fixed on him but he wouldn't make eye contact with me. And then he said to leave his office or he was going to call the police. I said I'll be sure to mention this on the internet and he threatened to sue me for "fraud" I ran down those steps to my Car and got away as fast as I could. Terrifying experience.

I absolutely would NOT recommend this practice…read more I have been seeing various counselors over the past 5 years, and I have never been treated so poorly during a first conversation as I was when I reached out to this practice. - First of all, I could tell immediately that the woman who returned my phone call was not at all interested in even speaking with me. She didn't introduce herself and you could tell she was in a rush and just wanted to get out of the office for the day. She might as well have not even called me back. - Secondly, she hardly paid attention to the reason why I was calling and seemed way more concerned about how she was going to get paid. She practically dismissed my reason for calling and jumped to my insurance/payment method. - Finally, she proceeded to scoff at my questions when I asked her about insurance details for couples counseling. I've worked for a medical billing company for years...and half the information she was giving me about insurance wasn't even accurate or correct. Like I said...she didn't really want to be talking to me in the first place. If you're needing help...go somewhere else.
