    My daughter enjoys the meal.

Amazing!!! The caponata is better than what grandma used to make. Locally sourced ingredients made with love, good service, reasonable prices. My highest recommendation.

"Tinchite" means "plentiful" in Sicilian, and that was an apt description of the dishes at this casual Taverna, where everything came in generous, hearty portion sizes and with bold Sicilian flavors! The menu was creatively laid out in the form of a newspaper and included sections with deep-dive descriptions of a few select dishes. To start, we ordered the Antipasti, a set of seven different appetizers including salty green olives; sweet and sour Agrolord pumpkin; two meatballs; fresh ricotta; eggplant caponata; canazzu (ratatouille of eggplant, peppers, zucchini); and breaded eggplant. Each dish came in its own mini pot, and all I could think was.. "the Sicilians sure love their eggplant!" Next, the most typical pasta dish of Cefalu was the Pasta a Taianu, and this name of Arabic origin ("taio") refers to the earthenware container used to cook the pasta, which was layered with shredded stewed meat, tomatoes, eggplant, and topped with pecorino cheese and basil. The red sauce that came with this dish was oily, meaty, and slightly spicy, making for quite a hearty dish! The food and prices here were definitely decent, but the service was rather slow and inattentive. Nevertheless, this casual restaurant was a great place to try out some Sicilian specialties!

Recommend this restaurant as the starter and the main course recommended by the waitress are both delicious! A restaurant with lots of local people, the house wine is great. And it opens in the non peak season while other restaurants are closed.

We visited Cefalù and wanted to get some good local food. We have been in Sicily for 4 days and this was hands down the best pasta we had. I had pasta with beef and eggplant!!! It was amazing !!!! My fiancé is a vegetarian and he had their vegetarian lasagna and loved it. The portions were big. The staff was nice enough. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting.

The standouts were the caponata, parmigiana, rigatoni alla Norma, and the pistachio raviolis.

The Aperol Spritz and Prosecco were good, the Campari Spritz and Bellini were so-so, but that is also a matter of preference. We ordered the bruschetta and caponata for appetizers: the bruschetta was good, but not the best we'd had in Cefalù and we like our caponata more savory and this one was a little too sweet for us. For entrees, we ordered the carbonara, a margherita pizza, bomba pizza, and the paesana pizza. We all enjoyed our pizzas and the carbonara was apparently a little over-salted, but that is a matter of preference/opinion as I tasted the carbonara and it tasted great. It was an overall good meal, but not the best that we had in Cefalù (that is a high bar to set though).

They claim that they have a separate gluten free kitchen but it is not disclosed anywhere on the menu or on their website. The menu prices also don't indicate an extra charge for gluten free options. I ordered grilled fish ( and was charged 2 euro extra while my dining partner ordered the same fish and was charged the menu price), same for the tomato salad. I am surprised they didn't charge me extra for a gluten free bottle of water . When I questioned the waiter about the tomato salad, she immediately took it off the bill. ( I didn't notice the fish, only afterwards I looked at the check and noticed that every item I ordered had an extra euro 2 charge. It would not have been a problem if the menu clearly indicated a surcharge for ordering from a "gluten free kitchen")
