The entire place needs a deep clean. It has gone downhill from several years ago. Service was fair at best. Overpriced concessions. No idea why a steep service charge for prepaid tickets and self pickup - i did all the work. Will stick to streaming. read more

My children's uncle (mid 20s), his girlfriend (21), my son(18), and 2 other children 11&9 went to cinemark to see " A Minecraft Movie" @8pm. They purchased the tickets at the window, proceeded to the concession stand & purchased 2 large popcorn's, and each a beverage. They get to the admittance clerk who denies their entry without a parent. The admittance clerk checked the adults IDs, saw they were 18 or older, and were told they adults were uncle and brother. They demanded a parent be present. I got up to the theater, purchased my $11.50 ticket to a PG movie. I got to the admittance clerk, attempted to show her my ID, which she then said was not needed & was rudely chastised that I must be present for the entirety of the movie because a fight had broken out earlier in the day. A fight that had nothing to do with my children attending a PG rated movie with 3 adult family members. If this is a true and actual policy, it should be noted at the time of ticket purchase & available to view online as well. Also, of note, a PG movie doesn't even indicate the child has to be 13 to view by rating standards. read more

Not a bad movie theater as it's your only option in Erie. Only issue I have is it is not well kept and the bathrooms and movie theaters have those traditional sticky floors. Being that it's Covid, I feel it's necessary to keep these high congested areas well kept and maintained first and foremost. After visiting the Schellville in Delaware this was a disappointment and had to pay alot for Tinsletown. Everything was extremely overpriced. Over price light show . Save your money and drive around your town or head to Delaware to Schellville you won't be sorry. read more

As far as movie theaters go, this is one o the best. There are very few options in Erie for movie theaters... but this one is new, clean and very state-of-the-art. Tinseltown has pizza and real food to dine on... in addition to the overly-salty and buttery popcorn and normal movie foods. My favorite is a large Coke slushy (or whatever they call it) which can last me a while during a movie. There's an arcade inside too... in case you arrive early, or (if I was still 15) need to wait to catch a ride!! Whenever I go back to Erie, and plan to see a movie, no doubt we'll be back for Tinseltown. read more

Honestly, looks great in photos but doesn't capture how crazy expensive everything is once you get in there. The $30 per person charge on a Friday night only covered us entering. Then we were greeted by swarms of screaming children with parents sitting back just letting their kids run into whatever. The hot coco was $4 and the fried which were the equivalent of simple waffle fries with nothing on them were $8. Everything inside cost extra the photos with Santa and ice skating were overcrowded. Tinseltown is the local option of the mega-plex, multi screen movie theater. They get the latest movies and have enough options for all. The areas for improvement center on their food options. Many movie theaters are serving better quality food but Tinseltown falls far short in this area. read more

There is no sign on Peach street telling you this place exists--very odd. It has a whopping 17 screens. Went here on a Saturday evening at 7:00am and admission was just over $9. The place wasn't that busy. The prices for the popcorn and drinks are a little outrageous, but I guess that's typical. The bathrooms were clean. The theatre screen they put us in was small. Audio was so so. There were 20 minutes of trailers before the 90 minute movie started--that's a bit much. read more

i had an absolute horrible time they let us buy our tickets after we asked them if we were still aloud to to see the movie as minors. They wasted our money and time. all we wanted to do was see puss and boots which is literally a pg movie. I don't know what kind of bull crap business they are running here but this is ridiculous. then they tried to not give us a refund and continued to call us petty while I'm in the middle of writing this review. I am appalled at the way they acted I have been coming here for years and now with the new curfew rules it is not kid friendly at all. I don't even know what they think they are doing because this is just deterring business. Went to this theatre because movie theatres are still closed in New York. The building itself didn't open until 15 minutes before the first showing and the concessions staff weren't ready for customers even then. I ended up getting a hot dog (this is the first time that I ever got a hot dog at the movies) and it was better than I expected. The inside theatre itself was on the small side and I was surprised that they don't have leather reclining seats like most of the theatres where I live. I tried the DBOX seat which moves and vibrates in conjunction with the action on the screen and has four different intensity levels to choose from. I put it on level three and the seat movement was more jarring than I expected, but it really didn't add much to the overall experience and the seat doesn't recline at all so I probably would not pay extra for it again. The staff were friendly and overall I would say that Tinseltown in Erie is an average movie theatre; not bad but nothing here to make me want to make it a regular stop. read more

The start of my experience here was kind of weird. Top flight security was being rude and WHILE I was buying tickets he said we couldnt hang out inside the theater until we got tickets. Yeah read that again.. lol. The girl at the register told the guy "They are buying tickets" and looked at him like he was out of line. All in all I never found much to complain about here, but when I do it's usually something the staff doesn't handle we'll. Over the past few years speakers have gone out and done loud Darth Vader impressions through your whole movie! They take MONTHS to fix. This was never a problem until 3D came out. Normally a popular movie got two screens. If the speakers were bad, they were quick to refund and you could grab another show time in the opposite theater. Well I'm not a real big fan of 3D, I'm just not. Since 3D tickets cost more they're putting the non-3D versions into the run down theaters. With no other option. On top of which I ran into some very chatty brats at a late night film. If the speaker didn't annoy me, they did. I got up and walked over and told them to STFU! They didn't care. When they came in I heard several if them comment "what movie is this?". I know for a fact that staff get 4 free tickets a week/month something of that nature. I have a friend of a friend who has family who works there and they often get packages of four guest passes. After walking out someone with some kind of authority acknowledged that yes that speaker has been broken for some time. He never asked us who was talking to have them removed. He was also not thrilled to hear my unflattering description of the teens, and became kind of short with me after that. Frankly, between their comments about not knowing or caring what movie it was, the fact they had no fear if being kicked out, the managers reaction, and the fact he didn't send anyone in to remove them.......leads me to believe they were his kids. Then he tells me most people have gone home so he can't refund my tickets. But he can give me guest passes. That's better than nothing but if that theater is hosting the only non 3D version of THAT film....... guest passes not helpful. Not really. I was at least compensated but after religiously showing all those little commercials about how they'll kick out disruptive people..... Kinda leaves me feeling like.....**** them for letting brats, related or not, talk through the first 30 minutes of a film like they were just hanging around someone's living room. read more

Seats looked new but seemed narrower than I remembered. Not sure how comfortable they would be for a plus sized movie goer. Accidentally sat in the wrong row. But the theater was nearly empty on a Saturday afternoon so we were going to stay put. However, one of the seats was broke, leaned all the way back - no rocker motion left. So, we moved up one to our assigned row. One of those chairs was also broke in the same way. It was still useable, just had stay in full reclined position. I wish this Cinemark had Luxury Recliners. They do have some D-Box seats that I usually get just to have my own arm rest. But they are not high back and the motion thing is just gimmicky and doesn't really add much to the experience. I wish they would remove these and add true Luxury Recliners. The floor was sticky, so the advertised better cleaning is still a miss. I had always looked forward to coming to this theater to enjoy their over priced popcorn with a movie. Having free refills on the large popcorn and drinks made it a little less hurtful to my wallet. NO MORE! Free refills are a thing of the past. When I asked, the counter person pointed to a sign that said 'No refills to keep prices cheap' - I paraphrase - can't remember the actual wording. But Really?! The $7 popcorn can't cost the theater more than $1 of actual popcorn. Same for the overpriced drinks that also had free refills cancelled. I doubt I will return to this theater. I'll wait for the movie to stream to tv, or find a theater with real Luxury Recliners and Free Refills on popcorn. Oh, and after the movie - always need to use the restroom - but most were CLOSED. The main one at the MAIN EXIT WAS CLOSED. So we went to the next closest one and crossed the tape only to find THE WATER WAS SHUT OFF. Frickin Amazing. Definitely need to find another theater. read more

So apparently me being an adult I can not buy my 16 almost 17 year old a ticket to go with me to an R rated movie without them showing an id???? Have done a million times before.. But assistant manager makes new rules. Apparently getting another manager is not important either to talk to a customer.. So after all is said and done, calling and speaking to someone else, I am being given free movie passes because the assistant manager doesn't know his job!!! maybe to be in management you should have to actually have some intelligence! read more

Its pretty dated in here and is in serious need of being updated. The screens and sound system is excellent it just feels old in here. They do have concerts that are onscreen and they bring back old movies for limited showing, scarface is limited engagement but not my cup of tea. I would like to see the omega man on the screen or perhaps older sci-fi movies but that's just me. read more

The staff are usually talking to each other and not focused on the customer, especially in the ticket booths were they seem to be chatting between each other. I have enjoyed the theater and have had no problems with seeing or getting in to any first run movies. This theater is kept clean and is maintained well. For Erie, it is the best thing around for movies. read more

Although they have a lot of bad reviews about service, it's by far the most comfortable place to come watch a quality movie for a quality price within a 100 mile radius They also have their spring special running now for 3.99 for seniors and kids and 5.99 for adults any day and any movie. I normally like going here have never really had an issue. Last night I went out to watch a new horror movie that just came out. The SECOND day it was out and it was packed (no surprise). It being packed isn't the part that bothered me. I paid $15 for 2 tickets for me and my girlfriend and didn't even get to enjoy the movie!! The entire time we tried to watch it there was people laughing, giggling, talking, predicting the movie out loud before it happened, and even people directly behind us screaming before anything even happened to try to get people to jump..... So infuriating! The part that really made me mad about it? There was no ushers or anyone to check to make sure that people were able to enjoy their experience!! I paid $15 for 2 tickets and paid $10 for 2 drinks absolutely insane prices for drinks and popcorn by the way and I didn't even get to enjoy any of it because of these inconsiderate people who kept screaming and laughing throughout the entire movie! At least have some ushers in the theatre you know it's a movie that just came out. I will never go back to this theatre I am going to a different theatre. read more

I'm posting this review late because I was hoping to get a resolution to our problem, but it has never come. We bought tickets to a 2:00 showing of Star Wars on December 27. We had called that morning to make sure the theater was open. Showed up, only to find they were closing early due to the snow. I could understand that the weather was beyond their control. What I can't understand is why we never could get a refund for our six tickets. Corporate says it is a local issue and local says it is a corporate problem. Well, seeing as how it is pretty much monopolized in ERIE(only theatres in 100 miles) you can complain till you are blue in face. Nothing! I am a disabled 67 year old veteran and have some difficulty crawling thru the halls when going to see a first run showing. Crowds are usually full house and some people just don't have a Give a Damned. All they think of is their own selfish desires. I got to be first, i got to have the Best seat, and what-not! How about a little courtesy and respect for those who fought for your freedom only to be disrespected by some who don't know the value of what we did for them, likely because they didn't pay the price we paid. All i want is to be able to get to my seat without people nearly knocking you over in the hall because they want their choice of seats. The theatre should provide escorts from ticket-taker agent booth into the theatre for handicapped on canes, wheelchairs, etc. Or allow disabled citzens / vets with military ID to enter the theatres at least 10 minutes before others . What's so hard about that ? read more
