Great restaurant in Turku. Apparently it's pretty popular and well known among locals as well. We had the steak plate and the pizza with the strawberries, goat cheese, and pistachios. Both dishes were really good. The pizza crust was good and surprisingly the toppings worked well together and didn't feel like a dessert pizza. The steak was well cooked and everything that came with it worked well. Our server was really friendly and overall we had a positive experience. There is also a nice view of the water out front. Super yummy! Unlike most restaurants in Turku they're open on Sundays, so we made a reservation, which I highly recommend doing. My group split a few pizzas, a bottle of wine, and dessert. Everything was excellent. In addition to what's on the menu they also have a revolving selection of desserts each day--I wound up ordering a piece of off menu white chocolate cheesecake. We dined indoors, but they also have outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the river. Definitely recommend this place, especially if it's a Sunday and you're lacking in good options. read more

I visit Turku Finland for business. The food is amazing. There is not one bad item on the menu. The service is always great and they treat you like family. The view is great. Outside right on the river. Inside is tight, but all are friendly. I suggest if in Turku, you must go! read more

Tintå, on the western shore of river Aura not far from Aurasilta Bridge, used to be a horse stable in the 18th century ... somehow I must have sensed this ;oD! ... oat grains and salt lickstones are not to be found on the menu, but self-declared gourmet pizzas and specifically those were the ones my self-declared gourmet palate was longing for. A real big feast for the eyes with blue cheese, pears and caramalized walnuts was served, but failed in making my palate doing sommersaults. It was a nice snack, but I would not recommend it if your hungry like a wolf. There were just very tiny and very few crumbles of blue cheese and the pizza dough was so thin as if it rather wanted to be a tarte flambée. The 4th gourmet star goes to the limoncello-pannacotta dessert with roasted pistachios. Sadly, it is served in a tiny, tiny glass jar, but in this case size did not matter that much ... the taste was just WOW! Would be nice to have a bathtub filled with that limoncello sauce ;o)! I also highly recommend Tintå's homemade fries with lemon mayonaisse. Like real gourmet fast food. Maybe you will try to scratch all that mayonnaise out of your bowl like me ;oD! read more

My favorite restaurant in Turku. I fully agree with the other reviewers. Excellent food, kind staff and very nice interior. Price quality ratio is excellent. Pinella (on the other side of the Aura river) is the only restaurant where the food is better but Pinella is by far more expensive. There is a new restaurant which has the same owner as Tinta. The name of this one is Nera. Its on the same side of the Aura river but closer to the archipelago. Interior and design is similar. Likewise the quality of the food. The staff is also very kind (but younger, most of them are blond finish girls, at least when I was there). Nera appears to have no reviews in Yelp so far. By the way Nera is written with a circle on the 'a' like Tinta but unfortunately this character is missing on my iPhone. Kay read more

Tintå is a good italian style restaurant located directly at the riverside in Turku, Finland. I was there during the winter season and had a beautiful view on the completely frozen river. Food is excellent. I've had a traditional pizza margherita with mozzarella di buffala, arugula and pine seeds. The crust was wonderfully thin and crisp, like an authentic neapolitan pizza should be. The pizza was not that big, so if you come in very hungry you definately should opt for a starter. But on the other hand, it was priced at reasonable 12€. I asked the waiter for a recomandation for a local beer and he served a dark lager called Alvar. A very good beer, which in turn, i recommend to you. They also have a very large selection of wines. All together, it was a very good meal in a bistro like atmosphere with nice waiters. read more

The food was really good, I had the prosciutto and fig pizza. It was thick and soft and not too dry. I think it was one of the best pizza I ever had. The ricola was fresh and tasty. The pizza come in a wood board which is convenient to cut it. The staff is friendly and they speak good English. The ambiance of the restaurant is muted, and the decoration is nice. There were a lot of people when I went to have dinner and I felt a bit pushed out by some customers. The language difference made the situation more awkward. So I didn't take an dessert. I will try to come back at a different time. read more

The menu at Tinta is very limited during lunch time, but the salad buffet (tea/coffee and bread included) is an excellent deal for under 10 Euros. There was a nice selection of fresh fruit and veggie options to choose from, including things like pickled beets, pasta salad, crispy lettuce leaves, and watermelon. Be careful if you choose the chopped chicken as a protein topping--it was EXTREMELY salty. This is a hopping spot at midday, so don't expect to be able to linger at your table for too long. read more

My wife and I ate outside at this restaurant on a week night. It was fully booked, we had a reservation fortunately, and chose to eat outside. We sat along the river under a heat lamp so we were very comfortable and had a great view. If you sit outside then you must order inside at the counter and pay in advance. Then the waiter will bring you your meal . The service was prompt and the waiter was engaging . We shared an order of mussels with french fries and bread which were good but didn't taste as fresh as they should have been. We also ordered the Moroccan salmon confit which consisted of salmon, potatoes, beans, chickpeas, and tomatoes. It was excellent. The only way to improve the salmon would be to reduce the salt which again in Scandinavia is overdone. read more

No matter if you sit inside in the well decorated restaurant and bar area or outside on the terrace next to Aurajoki you're going to enjoy your stay here. The menu is short but as in most cases that's a sign for good quality. The pizza is really good and always served with rocket salad and pine seeds. Very nice place. We sat outside as was full. Friendly service (a big thank to the Anglo-Greek waiter). The plated are quite varied, from salads to falafel, pizza or meat. I am very impressed from the wine card. Being Italian I can surely certify the quality of the Italian wine! Top quality ones. The food is fresh made, well presented and tasty. We wanted to finish with a cognac but we found Vin Santo and ... Cantucci. But not a whatever product just for exportation but a Italian good quality ones. Jesus christ! I took lamb. It was maybe the best dish I've ever had. So many different flavors on the plate, I can't even put this in words. Rest of our group had beef and fish, and they're just as amazed. Definately highly recommended! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere are also a huge plus. It's not maybe the cheapest, but definately worth every penny. Eat here. Now. It's an experience you don't want to miss. read more
