First of all, Jake's Place has amazing teachers who are experienced and caring. They have made us feel like family. When we send our children to Jake's, we feel they belong to a community. That is something corporate daycares and preschools don't provide. Secondly, the education is wonderful. They work on math, language, motor and social skills. Our daughter was graduated from Jake's last summer and the K teacher was amazed by her skills levels. Our son is also is learning fast. Finally, the value for money is unbeatable. It's really sad to hear one person's need to bash a business because she thought this was " over the top" when the business is following the DESE regulations for preschool kids that are not protected by vaccine . My advice that if that is this is not a right for your family that's fine you can leave. There are ten + people on a waiting list that would be happy to be there. This is a small town please remember that being so callous and bashing someone's livelihood doesn't make you a hero.

The staff is fantastic. They're all very competent, patient, and loving. My older child has a flair for the dramatic, but they handle her sometimes grandiose tantrums calmly and lovingly. They have a very stable staff; remarkably low turnover compared to most program. This was very important to me. When your children spend close to 30 hours a week somewhere, it needs to feel safe, secure, comfortable. High levels of turnover would make that impossible. My children are very attached to their teachers. The curriculum at the center is exemplary. They use a lot of targeted play that allows children to learn and develop skills while enjoying themselves. For example, in any given day, my kids look forward to playing in the sensory table ( filled with anything from coffee beans to shaving cream), the imaginative play area (that is set up as a grocery store this week and a doctor's office the next), outside on the play ground, taking a field trip to the post office, having the music lady / yoga lady / tumble bus come, meeting in small groups to work on counting skills, and more. Another feature that was very important to me when I was selecting a center was NAEYC accreditation. It's hard to compare programs; you should be able to hear positive things about any center, and it's hard to know you found a good one until you're already entrenched. But NAEYC accredited programs are relatively few. This accreditation was important to me for two reasons. A) you can't get that accreditation unless your curriculum is up to the association's high standards, and B) it is a lot of work to get and maintain, and thus shows that the center believes that "good enough" really isn't good enough; that they want excellence. The program is top-notch. I adore BY. Even more importantly, my children adore BY. More days than not, my daughter is disappointed when I come to pick her up. I hear "No, I'm not ready to go. We're just about to read another story/go outside/dance/ play in the imaginative play area." For me, that says everything.

Tuition is transparent, with no hidden fees, and includes a full meal plan and three additional enrichment activities. Although our child can be a picky eater at home, he has become much more willing to try new foods at daycare. GQCC also offers a large playground and is conveniently located near a highway exit. Our child receives Early Intervention services, and the staff have been exceptional in collaborating with EI providers and expanding strategies to support regulation and sensory development. Teachers are always accessible for check-ins, and we regularly receive photos and updates about daily activities. GQCC is a wonderful center with caring, attentive, and professional staff. They have made lots of friends and are constantly talking about all the fun activities they do at the center. Both of our girls started when they were just a few months old. Eila is now almost 4 and Maebh is 19 months old. The pandemic has been challenging but the center staff got us all through it so far safely and my daughter Eila was able to quickly make up ground in her language skills after staying home for several months when the pandemic first hit. Now she's talkative as ever and even is writing her own name. Maebh is strong-willed and loving and she enjoys spending time with other kids and her teachers. I would recommend GQCCC to any families or teachers.
