The classrooms are bright, peaceful, and full of hands-on materials that truly engage the children. My son and daughter absolutely love their teachers they're patient, attentive, and really understand how to encourage independence. In the years my son has been there I've seen so much growth in his confidence, focus, and curiosity. He comes home singing and speaking in Spanish/sign language and I just love the fact he brings home what he learns. The school also has excellent communication. Monthly updates, photos, and progress notes/pictures make us feel connected even when we're not there. I could write a novella about how much I love this daycare. It took me several months of working and caring for our first baby full-time before I finally admitted I needed a daycare - I was very worried about her being away from me for so many hours every day. We found a really good daycare in the Valley that made me feel comfortable, and our baby seemed to bond with the caretakers there. When we had to relocate to Santa Clarita, I was heartbroken leaving that daycare, and the worry about putting her with strangers every day skyrocketed again. When I toured at MoSC, I was met with such kindness, understanding, and comfort. My typically clingy toddler waddled off to play while I spoke to the caretakers, feeling at home immediately. In the 6mo we've been here, our baby has absolutely thrived - she's so good at sign language, she's getting more social, and drop offs are easier than ever - she'll happily go join the other kids for circle time. She's so happy every time I pick her up - not because it's finally time to go home, but because she seems to genuinely have had a wonderful day. I'm a very emotional mom, and I've felt just as cared for by the women at MoSC as my baby has been. The times we have had tough drop offs, they're quick to let me know she has adjusted well and is back to being happy within the 10mins after I leave. They help me transition to the next stage of daycare as much as they help her transition. I think we all know Ms. Georgette is amazing, but I also want to shout out Ms. Michelle and Ms. Karina who give me a thorough update on our baby's day every time I pick her up. And just a general shout out to every caretaker I've spoken to - at the front desk and in the infant room. As a first time mother, Montessori of Santa Clarita has been a blessing and I am so grateful for their amazing staff. I learned about Montessori from my cousin who had both her children enroll at 6 months. She has always raved about her confidence and trust in Montessori to take care of her children knowing they are in good care. Therefore, when I had to go back to work I also enrolled my child at 6 months and now turning one, and I don't see us leaving any time soon. Both teachers, Ms. Melissa and Ms. Kim, show their expertise as educators by how smoothly the class runs. Seeing one child sit on a rug spot, take turns, or even clean up is always impressive. However, these amazing teachers can do that with a number of children and at the same time. All children clearly know the routine of their day and what is expected of them. The staff is truly amazing--so kind, dedicated, and genuinely caring. I've had three children in their program, starting in the baby room at just 8 weeks old, all the way through to the after-school program at age 10! What stands out the most is the consistency and love from the staff. Many of them have been with the school since we started, and they've become like family. Ms. Georgette in the baby room is the sweetest soul--she has known my daughter since she was 8 weeks old and now continues to show her the same love at age 10. It's such a special bond. I have had two kids go through this Montessori--one is now 8 (started in 2015) and he thrived at this school and their TK program is exceptional! Looking for a Day Care you feel comfortable leaving your children at is never an easy task. Especially for a first-time-mom, like myself. After taking a year and a half off to stay home and care for my son, I needed a place I knew he would be safe and comfortable at. I am so happy I chose Montessori of Santa Clarita! The staff is absolutely incredible and my son loves all his teachers! They did everything they could to ease both of us into a new and different routine where I would no longer be with my son for the entirely of the day anymore. They were willing and able to work around my changing schedule and understood how difficult the transition might be in the beginning. The staff is also very attentive and keep me updated on anything that happens while my son is under their care, which I greatly appreciate. Honestly, I was surprised at some of the negative reviews. I had two of my children attend this school. One started in the infant room and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and organized everything was. Ms. Georgette, Ms. Edna and Ms. Toni couldn't have been more attentive and kind to my children. My daughter was always excited to see them and would run to give them hugs everyday we walked in. My son started with Ms. Sarah and eventually moved to Ms. Michelle. These ladies were informative and taught Montessori, in addition to potty training. NO STARS !!!!! My 2 year old grandson went to this Montessori for 2 months. He was treated so badly. Sarah would have bad reports on my grandson everyday (never a positive comment), first it was he needs to see a speech therapist, then it was his behavior. On 4 occasions we have witnessed 2 other children hitting, pushing and throwing sand. Of course, Sarah says that was unacceptable for my grandson to do the same thing. Then proceeded to tell my daughter that she will reevaluate him and decide whether he can stay or it will probably be better to look for another school in the meantime. He went to the speech therapist in the meantime and was told he is above average for his age, and Sarah has absolutely no qualifications to make any diagnosis and it's ILLEGAL to kick a preschooler out! Glad to say we pulled him out and found a great school where he is flourishing daily! DO NOT RISK YOUR CHILD'S HAPPINESS AND SAFETY!! Beware of Brandy, she's a very scary person read more

My daughter has attended this school for about a year now and we couldn't be happier! I've worked in elementary education for 10 years and I'm very picky with where I send my children. I feel so comforted sending my child here, I know that they truly care about her. Cleanliness is huge for me and many daycares in the area didn't meet my expectations. MofSC has a clean facility and classroom. She loves school, her friends, and her teacher, Ms. Sylvia (who is THE BEST!) She is excelling academically, socially, and emotionally. They are so warm and welcoming in the front office and Ms. Sylvia is in constant communication with us. They understand that we are working parents juggling a million things and they are compassionate to our needs. Each time I call to follow up I am told it will be another 2 weeks! Also, when I would call to leave a message and check in on the wait list, the director was never available and apparently she was the only person that could disclose that information. My son has been at a new school for a while now. Montessori of SC had told me my son Was a liability and he was written up weekly. For several months after this school, my son felt rejected from school and like he wasn't a good boy. I had a recent parent conference at his new school, ready for the worst considering how M of SC had treated us and my son. His new school said he was doing wonderfully, happy, follows directions, progressing. I was so happy to hear all this. It goes to show that it is the people, the caregivers, and the way they interact with your children, that make them feel safe and confident. I am so glad he is not at this school any more. read more

Turnover is rare with the teachers which makes each year a little more special for them and us to see the kids grow and learn. My youngest who is currently in the TK/Kindergarten class has learned so much from the teaching/montessori techniques. The other review stating that this is not a Montessori school feels pretty accurate. We recently enrolled our 12 month old in an actual Montessori and nearly EVERYTHING is more organized, safer, calmer. I just wish I had seen these reviews earlier. They were unable to get my very easy and very schedule-able child onto a regular nap schedule over the course of 7 months. His crib was never the same each week until I made a formal request. Some days he wouldn't take his first nap until almost 4 PM. Some days he'd take two naps that were only 30 minutes long. Somedays only one that was 40 minutes. And others one long nap of 2 and a half hours in the middle of lunch. Always at different times. Always in different intervals. It's taken him 4 days at his new school to fall into a schedule of two naps of about an hour - hour and a half each, at around the same time each day. They're disorganized with food and communication, feeding crackers and cookies without notifying me for example. They also fed my child old formula (Until I brought it to their attention), and would sometimes heat it in the microwave. My son was bitten 4 times by 4 different children under 4 "unusual" circumstances while he was not being properly supervised. Their response was lacking in implementable action and follow through as it continued to happen again and again. They attempted to ease my fears about their lack of supervision, making grand promises to reform and changes in protocol. They also often attempted to implement a suggested nap schedule...but they were never able to follow through and were at times passive aggressive about how much work would be involved to do either. The director is a lot of talk and very little action. Obviously, I trusted them with my child for 7 months, so I believe them to be loving, caring people, but they are completely disorganized and are sorely lacking in proper management. read more

My daughter started at this school at a very young age and she has loved every second! The staff is incredible, and great at communicating with me. When you walk into the front office, you are always greeted with a big smile, from either the staff or the Director. A new Director has taken over, and she is doing amazing things with the school. One of the best things about this school is that a majority of the classrooms have Class Dojo so the teachers can be in constant communication with the parents! Montessori of Santa Clarita does not care about your kids and you; all they CARE ABOUT IS YOUR MONEY. They have so many fees that you must pay while enrolling: key chip fee, registration fee, emergency kit fee, and late fee. Just fees everywhere they can get you. And there are no refunds or readjustments in tuition price for absences and holidays. So you pay them money for the days your kid is not attending the school. If your child is sick for week or two you still have to pay the full tuition. Otherwise they will give you more fees. Cleanliness wise, Montessori of Santa Clarita is not great either. Rooms smell terrible like dirty diapers or bathroom. It is crazy to keep the kids in the rooms where there is no clean air. Kids do not look happy there; when I go to pick my kid there all other kids want to leave with me, because they want to leave that place. My son was sick often and I believe it was related to level of cleanliness. This business is sad because they are truly money hungry company. They have created their own holidays where they will not watch your child for a "Admin day" or something created by their company. Then they will still charge you for that day regardless because of the contract you sign. I believe they feed off of trusting families that do not read contracts. Also, the front desk person will have no problem asking you for money but if you ask them to break down the charge they will tell you every reason why they are not able to, like, "accountant is only in on tuesdays at 10am" or some ridiculous answer that makes no sense. Overall, threre was 1 person that seemed to care about the children but the rest of the staff seemed like dead weight. In the morning, I would drop my boy off at 6am, he was only 2years old, but he was already considered to have to hang out with the 5-9 year olds who were there waiting for the bus to take them from school. So they were leveraging two markets and two separate income streams, and only hiring one teacher to do this. Their level of care is questionable at best. I think the only thing that keeps them in check is the constant surveillance the employees are under. Except for the baby/toddler playground on the side, no cameras, means employees gossip and sit down and do not watch the children like they are supposed to. I came one time early to pick up my son, I found one boy running around naked and two employees in the corner sitting on playground equipment talking. My son was just running around also. Anyhow, this experience was horrible and since then we have pulled our son away from the nasty company, and there horrible business practices. Monte-Sorry you wasted your money and got into a contract agreement with car sales type business practices... NO THANK YOU! The thing that bothers me is that they will continue to operate like this and will continue to screw people... just hope justice finds a way...I think a class action lawsuit is in the works with them, just a matter of finding the right attorney and the right situation. read more

Montessori of Santa Clarita formerly known as Canyon Vista Children's Academy does not care about your kids, all they care about is your money. Whenever I drop off my son, the kids in Ms Becky and Ms Sarah's classroom ( Kitty room ) do not look happy there. Somedays l see a bunch of kids all by themselves, most of them crying with no teacher attending to them. Most late mornings when l drop off my son l usually see only one teacher alone with all the kids in the class and when l ask her are you alone? She tells me the other teacher is on her break. ( Montessori of Santa Clarita most times do not send a relief staff whenever one of the Kitty room teacher's is on break base on my personal experience ). The teachers are so young and very inexperience with kids care. Multiple times when l go pick up my son l find him dirty with dry poop in his diaper. And also their front desk lady is so rude and can't ever say Hi to you when you come in to drop off your kids. Their front desk lady-Brandy has zero "customer service skills". During outside playtime on their playground l see kids playing very rough ( the other day l went in to pick up my son l saw another kid pouring heap of sand on another kid's head and face, and the so-called staffs that was surpose to being watching the kids playing on the playground were busy chitchatting and gossiping among themselves with no proper supervision on the kids. Their director-Donna just sits there and never addresses important issues and parents concerns that was brought to her attention. They are all there for the money. Pulling our son away from this unsafe and horrible environment that calls themselves Montessori was the best decision. This is one of the worst preschool in Santa Clarita. My daughter is enrolled in the before and after school daycare. Safety is the outmost priority for me and they provide it. They pick up and drop off kids in Rosedell Elementary which is a plus. My son has been attending MoSC since he was 6 months old, and he's now 4.5 years. He started in the infant room, and has been in every classroom up to TK. He loves it. The teachers and staff are like family to him, and I know that he is in safe, capable hands. It makes me feel good to know that he has such a wonderful place to go every day. His individual needs are met, the teachers listen to and respect his feelings, and and he has learned so much in his time there (potty training included!) It's fun to have him come home every day singing the songs he learned from Ms. Sylvia, pointing out sight words when we read, telling me facts about animals that he learned on the smart board, showing off his new moves from dance class, and so much more. We really enjoy the fun family activities like the Family Night BBQ's with bounce houses and holiday performances. I laugh at how we parents think preschools are one-size-fits-all! I too was THAT parent! I took my first child out of what I thought was a terrible school, oh trust me, I had my long list of reasons! We decided to give Montessori of Santa Clarita a try and we loved everything about it! Yep, everything! They took the best care of our little one. We couldn't ask for better love and he learned so much. He LOVED his teacher and he had to give her a daily squishy hug before we left. His kindergarten teacher later told us that he was reading 1st grade books. We later sent our younger son to Montessori and that's how we found out that not every kid fits. He cried all day, every day! We talked to his teachers and the director and realized that it wasn't the time for him. I was so grateful that the staff was honest about it. They could've just taken our money every month, not caring about his emotions and that made us love this school even more! wish i could give zero stars, my son just started with them last month, just a week after he started, he acquired STOMACH FLU and COLDS. at the same time. he had to skip daycare for a week because while he just started the first week with them, they have not fed my child, when i pick him up from lunch the old teacher would say he didnt eat but when i ask his lunchpack the teacher does not even know where my son's lunchbox is. the teacher does not even know if my child has milk on his lunchbox. how terrible! i didnt complain cause i was thinking they would be taking care of my child within the next few days and weeks. the bad thing is we paid the tuition for a month worth already. my son who is 18 months at that time stayed with the infant section. there were only 2 teachers at the time watching 7-8 babies. how could they attend to my son ive thought? when i asked them when can he move to the toddler class, they said it was packed and its a waitlist, he can be accommodated only in March, they never mentioned to me before enrollment that my son had to be on the waitlist. but after a day i asked, theyve been bringing my son to the toddler class, so he can weaned of already from the infant group? the toddler teachers were nice and better from the infant group although cant help to see my child sitting and waiting for me in the room while the other kids were sleeping with there own mats my son was not provided of his own. it was like my son was forced to stay there. in the infant section my son does not even has his own crib, theyve asked me to bring our own blanket and sheet on the crib but one time when i picked up my son, my son was almost falling asleep on the bouncer, and there was another kid using my son's blanket on the crib. i dont know if they have just treated unfairly or something. to think i did not pay late for his tuition. id rather take care or watch my child after night shift work than him staying at this daycare. please save your child from this place. read more

I have been wanting to post a review about this place since touring it - it was so terrible. I wanted to free all those poor kids locked inside it's doors. There were not enough teachers compared to children. The youngest group had multiple children crying and unattended to, and you could see that the teachers were too inexperienced and had too many children to take care of them all. When I walked in, the director at the time (this was over a year ago, but I wasn't on yelp then) was complaining about having to call a sick child's parents to come pick him up; then when I left, I saw this poor child sitting in a chair all by himself, waiting, while some of the staff sat and talked by the front desk.
