We love the variety of classes that they offer here giving many options depending on what your children are interested in perfect for busy parents.  Plus they offer school pickups for those in nearby school which is a huge help for us.  And really you can't go wrong with any of the classes here.  From our own experience, Art and Ukulele classes foster development of little artists/musicians and offers individualized attention in a group setting with exceptional teacher that gives the perfect balance of quality learning experience and fun.  Same goes with Chinese, Chess and Creative Writing classes which encourage kids to be creative and have critical thinking but super fun at the same time.  I wish we had known about Brighter Bee sooner, looking forward to having future classes here!

I did however find the classrooms to be small and restrictive for two reasons: age of busy little students and class size number. The classes seem to have about 10-12 students in a very small room all day. Some may think it's intimate I viewed it as suffocating. While I did find some teachers to be nice, I found many to be fake nice. Smile at you but scream at the kids. Mind you the children are 3-5 years old. I believe they use times excessively for this age group, they use write ups excessively for this age group, they do not provide enough activities, and I felt they were always treating black boys harshly when I was around. They have one teacher I believe her name is Mary who was terrible to toddlers screamed at them from drop off to pick up. I stayed and caught marry yelling at my son as soon as she thought I left . Chastising babies as if they understand her logic. I heard her berating children. She also has a bluelivematters sticker (mind you I have never seen a Blue human) in a place with many black children and teachers which to me directly says black lives do not matter. I spoke to the director about the teachers and the use of 10 minute or more time outs on 3 year olds. Terrible way to treat little ppl. Pay more and go somewhere else.

The teachers are kind and very knowledgeable about what it takes to help students learn to the best of their ability. I saw students paying attention and actually LEARNING! I think it was the way the teachers kept their students' interests and the level of engagement in the classroom. I am particularly impressed with the friendliness of the staff- they are very approachable and I think that is important in a school community. I am excited to have found this school. ALSO I want to emphasize how much I love that this is a public charter school. Their curriculum is slightly different than a "traditional" public school. The teachers are given freedom to teach in more creative ways (I think that why the kids seemed more involved) - I looked at a great number of schools, but this one really impressed me. She was able to do 2 digit addition and subtraction mentally in kindergarten. Now she's doing fractions and geometry. For a 3rd grader, she's really ahead of the curve and best of all she is not phased by math. She actually enjoys it and considers it an easy subject. Math Genie has helped build on her math skills making it a strength for her. I love the abacus style of teaching which seems to translate in to mental calculations very smoothly for my child. I also like the instructors she has been placed with, they have been very helpful with showing me the methods of the abacus so that I am no the same page as her. I will definitely be enrolling my son when he goes to Kindergarten as well!
