This a fun find, and apparently highly regarded locally! We weren't sure where to go for a business lunch and our business partners suggested the tipsy moose, raving about their menu. I have to admit, their ravings were well placed, and the food was awesome! I lodge like interior in a fairly standard looking corner location definitely surprised us, and the environs were relatively dark and comfortable. Antlers hanging and a woodsy appeal that was fun and funny (I love my rack shirts for sale just in time for October!). The food though...daaaaaaaaang! Their chili of the day was Caribbean jerk chicken chili - it was legit drool inducing, with proper chunks of chicken and pineapple and a base that was proper jerk seasoning spicy! Their menu pours into a feast for the eyes, everything from poutine to barbecue fare, and all the way back to burgers. Their poutine, btw, is massive! One of our guests got it and we all marveled and sampled at his invite. It was out of this world packed with meat and gravy and cheese and magical goodness! I ordered the Moose Rack - 8oz blackened beef patty topped with pulled pork and diced jalapeños, w/ sauteed mushrooms, onions, cheddar ale sauce, smoked bacon, egg - it was killer! Spoiler: spoiled food Basically awful except for the poutine. The fries were a little overdone but gravy and cheese were spot on. The beer battered grilled cheese was a gross county fair novelty and the tomato bisque was really a marinara sauce - but technically a pretty good one? The Mac and cheese was completely unseasoned but the pasta wasn't overcooked. The real show stopper was the cheese cake, which was spoiled and stank. read more

The Albany offshoot of TM brings the same warm, cozy atmosphere as the Latham location. It seemed more spread out to me, though that admittedly may be because the last time I visited the Latham establishment was pre pandemic. Their burgers are to DIE for- can't ever say enough good about the perfectly medium rare patty, yummy brioche bun (stamped with the moose of course), and French fries it comes with. The French onion dip they had was mediocre- would just stick with the regular burger next time. Their Mac n cheese is a must-have when you're craving maximal cheesiness- lobster Mac is the best, but the pulled pork is also great. HUGE portions (you will be taking some home). Service was fast and friendly. An extra shout out to our bartender who made hot toddy's happen on a particularly cold weekday afternoon! read more

For Bar food, this is a great choice. The chicken wings...bone in...were great with a ton of choices for sauce. The one pound order is just the right size! This comes with a couple of sprigs of celery, some fresh carrots, and a great blue cheese dip. The fried Avocado were interesting, but could use some more flavor in the batter. For the Mac and cheese lovers, you can have your choice of 3 flavors, served individually in small crocks. Do try the sliced brisket sandwich, which comes with an excellent sauce topped with pickled onion and a branded bun of their Moose. The vegetable quesadilla was also a hit. It tends to get a bit loud during Happy Hour, so opt for an earlier dinner. The bar has many craft beers and IPO's , you will find something to drink:-). read more

This location has become hands down the best location. I went on a Thursday and a Sunday recently. Both times sat at the bar which had a few chairs open but was mostly filled, with what seemed like welcoming regulars. The crowd seemed more hip and younger than the Latham location. I love the beer selection at all the locations. I have them saved in the Beermenus app so I get alerted to all the new options each location has and they get some special ones! On the Sunday I ordered wings and they were fine, they took awhile and were over done. Guessing someone forgot about them but no biggie more time for good beers. The bartenders were very nice and helpful and were right there each time they were needed and gave good recommendations and was patient with all my nerdy beer questions. On the Thursday I ordered the chicken sandwich which was absolutly amazing and big enough to save half. We shared the fried avocado and the ranch was the winner. It was a weird texture struggle. The breading was tasty by itself and the avocado good by itself but together it was a weird combo. My partner ordered the chicken wrap and it was solid. My daughter and I went to Brunch today. My daughter ordered Chicken and waffles. There was a complete description on the menu of the dish. Nowhere on the menu did it mention jalapeño peppers. Don't judge a book by its cover. I wasn't expecting much as I walked in but the inside had some pub charm and the server was friendly and efficient. Beer selection was terrific, which is always a good sign. Keeping it basic, I just ordered a French onion soup and Caesar salad and they were both waaaaaay better than standard sports bar fair, waaaay better than I expected. Big (real) Parmesan cheese shavings in the salad. The soup was rich and flavorful with a healthy crust of melted cheese atop. This is a legit pub. We ordered boneless chicken wings, Mac & cheese and onion rings to be delivered. The chicken wings were rock hard, having obviously sat in a warmer for hours before they were sold, the onion rings were twice as dark as they should have been, for the same reason, and the Mac and cheese was tasteless paste. Really disappointed. We order takeout from here occasionally but something from the order is either missing or prepared wrong. This time, we ordered the French onion Mac and there was literally not a SINGLE piece or shred of brisket. Basically got Mac and cheese with gravy. Really upset at this experience as we try to support small businesses over chains. Quality control is definitely something to be improved. Reading other reviews it seems the Latham location may be better... perhaps we'll give this a try. The Mac and cheese options and appetizers are great, the cheddar ale sauce itself is tasty. I just ordered takeout from the new Tipsy Moose: a quesadilla and "moose sticks." They told me the wait was 35 minutes and I got there in just under (~30). My quesadilla was pretty soggy - I think from the way it was stacked in the container. It also was not warm so it had definitely been sitting. I would have cut them some slack except there is no cheese in with my moose sticks (pretzels with beer cheese). The pretzels are not even good...they are not soft and are chewy/almost hard with no flavor. I wouldn't have left a review, but I called, and they offered for me to come back and get cheese (!!!! Like I want to do that after I'm home and eating??). They then offered for me to get free moose sticks next time I'm in. Well.....there will not be a next time. I would have appreciated if they'd offered to refund the $10 onto my credit card, because I ended up paying $25+ for a meal I barely ate and was very disappoinTed by. read more

Crappy frat boy food with a side of COVID? I was sure I was going to get infected when I went in to pick up my carryout as the room was FULL (DOH, take note) of unmasked dinners. Everything sounded better on the menu than it tasted. BBQ Seitan tacos were flour tortillas, with small separate containers of fried seitan and bbq sauce. That's it. No veggies, no cheese, no nada. Fake meat and tortillas. "Smoked Cheese Curds in Beer Batter" had no evidence of being smoked - basically looked and tasted like someone had thrown some chili on chopped up mozzarella sticks from Sysco with canned raspberry sauce. Poutine was goopy with cold french fries. General consensus in our house was not worth the calories consumed and leftovers went in the trash. read more

Me and my boyfriend went here on our way back to CT from Niagra Falls. We love a good barbecue/burger place, and THIS IS THE SPOT! Service was great, food was amazing.
