The atmosphere is lively and upbeat with a jukebox, several TV's all showing different channels and a real mixture of people in the place (Our group consisted of some old fuddy duddies like me and some well behaved kids!). The pool tables are in excellent condition and after we finished with ours, the guy behind the bar came out and cleaned it, I don't think I've ever seen that happen anywhere else! There are some other activities that we did't get time to try like Snooker and Darts and there are also some quiz machines and even Jenga if that appeals to you. We found the prices to be reasonable and managed to get a pool table for the entire evening for around £16. Slim Jims caters for a mixture of modern and old world tastes and I'll make sure I visit again next time I'm in the UK!

The barman was a bit of a misery arse but otherwise fine. The selection of alcohol behind the bar made my eyes light up, although I was unable to take part. At times you can get that feeling of being crammed in if the room is packed. But the food does make up for it and the reason I regularly visit The Red Lion is because of the food.
