I think they have a good system of where they have stations split up and have modifiers for people who can't perform certain exercises. The class I took was fun, good coach and friendly staff. While I don't see myself spending that much money monthly for a gym like this, I do respect what they do and that the people who work their are genuine and create an environment that helps people feel comfortable and challenging. Staff were generally friendly (one review mentioned the physical condition of the staff not appearing to be in good condition. Well, I've had my arse handed to me by trainers who did not have that "jacked/hardcore athletic appearance, sooo... just saying). Patrons/members are a variety of ages/abilities etc. The place has an average vibe and ok energy, nothing spectacular as far as feeling super-welcomed or super-intimidated. (Ex fitness professional/competitor. I've had memberships galore in 3 different countries.) Love the amount of equipment, different spaces for different modalities and lots of classes offered, if that is what you're into. The spaces are generally tidy/clean, could use a good deep clean. This used to be a Pivotal Fitness, so some of the pics shown from other reviews are outdated/irrelevant. Temperature-wise, t was a bit on the warm side in the main areas. Lady's change rooms were a bit on the ewe gross side and needing a good overhaul. This is a great gym for some folks, and not for others. I think there is a good basic offering. Parking can be a challenge, and the exterior is ugly/unwelcoming.

The staff at this location is pathetic at best, and there is one who is condescending and patronizing. When asked about their equipment or how to use something, their only answer is look it up by QR code. But there isn't a QR code on all things. As an example, I went to use the massage chair, and asked for assistance. They said, "just turn it on". Since I didn't know how to do that, a staff member went with me to the chair, found the control (it was buried in some folds) and turned it on, then put the control away. I was halfway through the session when I figured out there were arm massagers and the chair only massaged my neck. When I told the front staff about it they responded arrogantly that I should have reset the control to what I wanted. When I indicated I didn't know there was anything other than an on/off box, they said every else figures out how to use the chair on their own and they couldn't help if I couldn't do that. I just called for help on registering for a class, and they said I had to call the other local location, and then gave me the wrong phone number to call!

I have been a member of the West Ashley, Summerville, and Mount Pleasant locations. Now I find myself back at the Summerville one. This gym is a little smaller than the other two I mentioned but it gets the job done. There's a black and red theme throughout the gym with inspirational quotes on the walls. The workouts can be intense--as the name suggests, there are 9 rounds. You spend 3 minutes at each round completing the designated activity at each. It's definitely a total body workout and the workouts change daily. My favorite aspect of this kickboxing gym compared to other ones, is there are no class times! You literally come in and jump in at the beginning of a round switch. The trainers are knowledgeable and helpful. They are there to encourage you, as well as push you to your limits. They sell heart rate monitors but I haven't (won't) get one (lol). Overall, it's a great gym/experience and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a high intensity, efficient workout. The parking lot can get congested in the afternoons because it's in a plaza with Buffalo Wild Wings. But they have some designated parking spots. As a side note, I lost about 80 pounds through 9round workouts. :) I have picked back up some of the weight via muscles.
