The artist is Phillip Burke. Both artists have played in Buffalo over the years. The memories were strong, which is part of how they were selected to be depicted outside of the theater.

The side of this building has had this public art for years. Maybe decades, although it looks to be in good shape for decades of weather exposure. Not surprisingly, it's a series of buffalos. On the backside of Gigi's playhouse, which faces Kenmore. It's a really nice mural. It did find some other local public support, which is always lovely to see. The butterflies are the symbol for Down Syndrome Awareness. Evidently they were drawn by people who have down syndrome, and then transposed local artists.

I wanted to check it out, and along the way I found tons of other interesting murals in the area. Its well worth a drive along Bailey to see what's going on all along the street. This is an older piece that was put up by Villa Maria college. They funded it and helped design it. Their teachers and students helped create it and install it. Its a great welcoming image as you drive North on Bailey.

On Niagara, driving towards Blackrock, you'll see this large mural on the side of a hardware store…read morenear Hudson. Called a sunrise Sunset, the artists are Tricia Butski and Patrick Foran. They included a series of nods to Buffalo including Shark Girl m, hockey and buffalos. It's colorful and well maintained.
