Stopped by to pick up dinner, ordered the empanadas de queso/cheese and empanadas de res/beef. Both were so tasty and full of ingredients, the empanada it's self was super soft in the middle. The torta de milanesa, amazing, simple ingredients but so tasty. The meat was soft and flavorful, the jalapenos was the right level of hot and the bread, super soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, the perfect combination. The ladies at the front were friendly and prompt to give me my order. The only difficult part was parking, this restaurant shares it with many other shops, so be patient. read more

Love Tito's! I would be ordering Tito's when I worked nearby. Ordering online is super easy and convenient. Picking up did have a bit of wait since it's pretty packed during lunch time. The parking can be a bit tricky since it's a small plaza and can get busy. I would highly recommend doing a to go order. My go to order is always the Hot Pastrami. You can order a regular size or large. I also always get fries as well. The pastrami is salty in a delicious way. It comes in a pretty big portion so it is very satisfying. The bread does feel a bit greasy so that is one complaint I have. I'm not a huge fan of the chili that they provide on the side but I do like that there's an option for it. Overall, Tito's is a great choice and they have a big menu to choose from. read more

Always come here for the Milanesa, and I can't stop man...no other place does a milanesa sandwich like Tito's. The restaurant is old but kept very clean nonetheless, and organized. Their OG employees at the register are super nice, especially the lady that's usually on the register to the right. She's so sweet! The newer employees are ok, I don't really care too much about their customer service..not good and not bad, and I still get my food in a timely manner. I've been to Tito's several times, but this is my first review. My husband and I ordered a large hot pastrami sandwich, a small sub sandwich, and a cheese empanada. Make sure to get the chile on the side! It's absolutely delicious. The pastrami was really good with lots of pastrami and pickles. My husband said the sub sandwich was good. The cheese empanada was fantastic! I added chile to every bite, which made it even better. My husband used to work in the area decades ago, and he used to go to Tito's frequently. Back then, the prices were very reasonable. Prices have gone up considerably since my last visit. The yelp APP shows "1 free Empanada" if you check in. However, they do NOT honor this offer. This was the second time I've asked, and they said no both times. They should remove this offer from yelp! I'm not sure when I'll visit again, as it was pretty expensive this time around. read more

We were in this plaza for a small event and wanted something to snack on and decided to get something from this market/deli. We came at a good time because they were getting ready to close up, but right after we ordered, a huge line started forming in the shop. Clearly they are quite popular with their clientele. Unfortunately they were out of their seasoned fries for the day and only had chicken wings for sides. We got the small Napolitana de res which comes with breaded steak, ham, cheese and Italian sauce. You have the option of adding chopped jalapenos to your sandwich at no extra cost so we did. A small sandwich is more than enough to share amongst 2 hungry individuals, so I can't imagine how big a large one is. The pros of the sandwich was that it was more or less pretty tasty. The cheese was nicely melted, the Italian red sauce had tomatoes in it which added a nice tartness to the spiciness of the jalapenos to the overall sandwich. It was nice and hot when it came out. The biggest con was that the steak was SUPER TOUCH. Like almost impossible to chew through without an extreme amount of effort. This killed the sandwich for my friend and I. Tito's is a fascinating little Argentinian market that has been a community icon for at least 4 decades. And I just now found it. Darn. This area of El Monte started out as an Argentinian neighborhood when Tito's Market first opened. Over the years, it has changed, but Tito's still has a firm grip to this day. And it's not hard to figure out why. It's small, with half the interior dedicated to a small butchery and specialty imported food market. You will find a number of popular items in their food cases, such as freshly butchered milanesa, ribs, Argentinian chorizo (very different from Spanish or Mexican recipes), cheeses, and packages of frozen raviolis, frozen Goya yuca, and other South American delights. They have several shelves stocked with imported canned foods and dry ingredients. I picked up a package of lady fingers, a hard-to-find essential we use in tiramisu. There is also a wall of imported wines. My guess is they are probably Argentinian wines, but I did not confirm this. The other half of the store is an eatery with more than several 4 top tables inside. You are expected to bus your own table when finished. Above the countrr is a large menu board that lists the hot and cold foods they offer, mostly sandwiches, made to order. Besides sandwiches, they tempt you with hot serving trays full of slow-cooked ribs, chicken wings, and such. You must order at the cash register, then hopefully grab a table. Our first time here, we decided on hot sandwiches, a ribeye steak sandwich with melted white cheese, and a chorizo sandwich. The ribeye is thinly sliced, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, cooked, placed on a freshly baked sesame seed roll slightly smaller than my forearm, and the cheese is melted. It is then topped with sauteed onions and sliced tomato. Delicious. The chorizo sandwich starts by removing the ground sausage from its casing, flattened and griddled, then topped with cheese and tomatoes . The chorizo is garlicky, not at all spicy, and absolutely delicious. I dare you to control your drooling. The other reason I was drawn here was their empanadas. They make 3 kinds, beef, chicken, and cheese. We bought one of the chicken and one of the beef, and we're so impressed, we came home with a half dozen of each to share with family. They are huge in comparison to most, and the seasoning is excellent. I love the chopped green olives added for an authentic, savory filling. One empanada is about $3, very competitive pricing. Our order came with two small containers of spicy, chopped chile salsa. Wonderful flavor, but beware if you aren't into spicy foods. I tried it. It is unique. Not sure if it was intended to accompany the sandwiches or the empanadas, or both. This is a delightful find and quite reasonably priced. My small ribeye sandwich was the more expensive at $12, but was not small at all. I was able to make 2 meals out of it. I would love to return and might even decide to make this a destination just for the h*** of it. read more

Here's some more information, "The milanesa sandwich ("Sándwich de milanesa" in Argentina and "Milanesa al pan" in Uruguay) is a type of sandwich eaten in the Río de la Plata region in South America. The bread is usually a white baton or short baguette type, cut in half and filled with a large (beef) schnitzel, "milanesa" being the name schnitzels have in the region, plus sliced tomato, lettuce." I tried the Milanesa which has thinly sliced beef, tomatoes, and you can get chilies in it which I recommend for that kick of spice! The tables in here are mainly 6 seaters, I wish there were a variety of 2 and 4 seaters because sometimes it's a bit awkward wanting to sit down as a couple when there's already 2 people sitting at a 2 seater ~.... Local legend that will get my business regardless just for nostalgia sake. My reviews will go from 4 to 5 based on service or freshness as they tend to make their best selling sandwich (milanesa) in bulk. The trick is getting there early, before noon or ordering a sandwich that requires fresh made. I've tried a few, like napolitana, carnitas, lomo or rib eye but I still prefer the classic beef milanesa. This trip, it was good enough and so was the service. I did discover a few new favorites, like the chicken milanesa and cheese empanada! Chicken milanesa was fresh made and delicious, but was light on the meat to bread ratio. GF really liked the chicken option! Cheese empanada was another great discovery and GF favorite.
