Cult clothing has moved around several times since I first moved to Birmingham, first swapping its…read moremodestly-sized original store for a much larger unit nearby, and then migrating to the Bull Ring when that opened. While they've always stocked the trendier end of alternative and skater fashion, as the years have worn on their gear has grown more generic while the prices have continued to climb. There are racks and racks of shirts, trousers and shoes in this latest incarnation of the store, but you'll be lucky to find anything that doesn't have the Super Dry brand name plastered all over it. I don't know about you, but I prefer my alternative clothing to have a little less of a uniform feel to it. The clothing is pretty high quality and there are some really funky designs if you're willing to have a bit of a dig through, but at the prices Cult charge you're better off shopping elsewhere for your skater/surf wear.

The new store is average really. Split over two levels, I've always found the clothes quite close together and it quite difficult to manoeuvre around the store. The staff at this new store (whether it's the change of premises affecting their mood, or new staff) seem to be much ruder than before, and in my experience have been quite reluctant to assist! The range of clothes, however, is quite good, and the store is a decent size. A bigger shoe department might be beneficial. At the moment it quite lets the shop down.

I find the quality great and some trousers I have worn and washed so many times but I can still wear them and they don't look shabby! Some of the girls clothing is adorable, can be all fairies and pretty pinks which I love for younger ones. I have bought a few home items in the past from Next, a few mirrors and vases which I could not resist. As much as I like the sales I find them a bit stressful with all the pushing and people grabbing anything in their size! So I tend to have a look online to see if I can get anything from there the first day and have a look in the stores after the first day or so of the sales.

Was just here this evening. All the sale stock was buy one get one free but there was not a massive…read moreselection left over and I did see one item I bought from DPs over a year ago on the sale rack! This is part of the Arcadia group of stores which are next to one another and you can walk through from Evans to Dotty P's to Burtons and onwards. DP's stock a wide range of clothes in sizes 8 - 22 from what I have noticed and are all the same price regardless of size you need. The staff are helpful and friendly, they sell some great shoes, lingerie and accessories which are usually at very good prices and the underwear is sometimes on special offer. There was an item of clothing I wanted today that they did not have in, but for some reason they could not get onto the server to check if it is in stock so the assistant told me to call back tomorrow and gave me the line number or advised me I might be able to get it online. She said the reason the server might not have let her on was because the shop was just about to close so it would be fine tomorrow if I phoned in.

This Evans' store is really worth visiting if you are in the area as they stock the latest fashions…read morethat the company offers. They not only do the usual basic clothes but also very fashionable clothes, accessories and footwear for women. The staff are always on hand to offer you one to one styling advice as well as being really efficient in the service they offer. i think that the staff were really friendly because they understood the need of the customer.

It sells Quiksilver, Mambo, Billabong etc and some of its own stuff too. They also have a good selection of bags, accessories and trinkets for presents. It is quite a large store…read moreon two floors and has a large changing room area to try in the clothes before you purchase them. They have lots of different ranges in ladies clothes work work suits to pjams to shoes to maternity wear to jeans and going out stuff. You can always find something you like in here and the staff are always very helpful. There are usually sales on so you can try to pick up a bargain. They do their own store card and they also do student discount too.

There is a good range considering the size of the shop and at times there are really good bargains to be had. Another shop that has a very limited selection for boys though, the range here needs to be increased but if you have girls its ideal. Annoying thing their card system you have to sign as it dont have chip and pin. Have been behind people who have gone to sign but have found their cards signature strip is worn out and the shop assistants wont accept their card, cue an irate customer and a trip to the cashpoint, needs to be updated.
