Unlike some buffet places I have been to this one you actually order what you want and they cook it bring it to out for you. The service was not the quickest but it was ok. Basically you order your starters they bring it out, you eat it, you want more you order more starters. Once you have had enough of starters you move onto a middle course which once again is cooked to order. I did wonder how they would cope if it was busy as there were only a hand full of people in the restaurant and a the service was not the quickest but the food was always hot when it arrived, which is always a bonus! We did dwell on the middle course for a bit, but as with food you always find you have to move on to the next course. We again ordered a variety of mains, and the food was tasteful and bearing in mind you could order more it was plentiful. The only exception was the fact that they advertise a pad thai. Its not pad thai it is a chow mien at best. To say I was disappointed was an understatement, I was looking forward to the Pad Thai and then I saw it and all was lost. They may well have got 4 stars as I liked the way they had the restaurant set up the service was ok and the food was good, but if you are going to advertise a dish please please please actually serve the dish...

This is an interesting variant of the "all-you-can-eat" Chinese buffet meal. The menu is pretty standard Chinese with a bit of Thai and Japanese if that takes your fancy and the decor is modern and easy on the eye. Most importantly the food was fresh and well cooked. I would definitely go again.

I have heard so much about this place that I had high expectations but it didn't really stand up to…read morethem. The place looks really tatty from outside and there wasn't even a sign with the name on, I just caught sight of some writing on the door other wise we would have walked right past. The place is huge inside though and both the food area and the bar are in the shape of Ships. I wasn't all that impressed with the choice of food to be honest. There was Garlic bread, Chicken balls, bbq spare ribs, prawn crackers, spring rolls, fried chicken and lemon chicken in the starters. The lemon chicken was very dry though. The main courses were a bit better. There was a good selection of curries, sweet & sour Chicken and Pork, Rice, Noodles, Lots of beef dishes, Pork dishes and chicken dishes. There was enough for us to have to have 2 trips to the main course area. We also went halves on a bottle of wine to drink with our meal which was gorgeous - I am not really knowledgable about wines as you know but It was a medium sweet wine which was very nice. The desserts at Wing Wah were the most disappointing I have come across. There was a chocolate fountain but it wasn't working - I know it was lunchtime but the place was heaving so I still don't understand why they wouldn't have it on. There was a soft Ice-cream machine but to go with it only a couple of jellies, some cornflake cakes, Oranges and Apples. No gateaux or sponge cake or Strawberries or grapes to be seen makes for a dull pudding. The staff are very friendly though, asking if we had finished before they took the plates. Asking if everything is OK and if there was anything else we wanted. The drinks service was very fast and at the end of our meal they didn't seem in a hurry to get rid of us even if the place was full of families with screaming kids. Oh and we also got a finger bowl which is something that none of the other buffet restaurants offer :)

The Mandarin @ Hilton is a chinese restaurant just on the outskirts of Hilton. As soon as we…read morearrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, and this continued throughout the evening, which added to the dining experience. As the restaurant was a former pub, it is very spacious, with a variety of different sized tables for couples, familes or larger parties. We were given a table overlooking the countryside, which made a pleasant backdrop for our meal. The menu, as in most chinese restaurants was a comprehensive, bewildering list of dishes, so we plumped for one of the set Banquets, priced per person. When the first course of Yuk Sung arrived, I think we were all taken back by the size of the portions. This continued through the dim sum platter, and into the three dishes we had chosen for the main course. A set meal for three, seemed more like a set meal for five! On the whole the food was very tasty, some of the constituent parts of the platter were a little greasy, but this is a minor criticism. We all enjoyed the whole evening; good food, in a relaxed tranquil setting, rounded off with coffee and chinese tea. The Mandarin is fairly pricey restaurant, but it is definitely worth it for the high quality of the food and the general ambience. The Mandarin also a takeaway facility, with reduced prices compared to the restaurant. A definite plus point is that while you wait for your takeaway, you can relax in remarkably comfortable leather chairs!

The serving area (take away only) is clean and so we hope the kitchen too. The lady who appears the be the owner was pleasant and a bonus was that my wife could order hers without MSG. We were dying for something different after an eternity of COVID lockdown. Then the not so good. My wife's beef fried rice was devoid of taste, as was my egg fried rice that went with my beef steak with spring onions and ginger (this was the closest to why I really wanted - Orange beef or chicken). My dish was surprisingly and disappointedly bland. Bottom line - it was OK. Would we try it again, even in another lockdown - probably not - but if I did I would try the sweet and sour chicken and hope that it tastes good!

The Dragon Court is popular with the inhabitants of Repton and also gets a lot of trade from people passing through the town. The Dragon Court has an expansive menu with all the old favourites, as well as a good variety of set meals for different numbers of people at a reasonable price.
