Toast is a nice boutique for clothes in Llandeilo. I have bought a dress and a blouse here. It is Welsh fashion, a designer from Wales. Apart from this, I have seen Toast fashion in London or in the magazines. read more

Couture is the brainchild of Rachael Corrigan, who only recently relocated her designer boutique…read morefrom Swansea to the quaint corner of High Street Arcade. If you're a Pussy Galore lover, then you'll find Couture is definitely worth a hearty browse of its eclectic kaleidoscope dresses, tops and skirts. Black seems to be the only colour in shortage here. With a Yankee Candle ablaze in the corner and no discernible decor , Couture is one of those boutiques where the clothing rightly takes centre stage. Only the ground floor was available for shopping when I stopped by, and Rachel explained that once the massive delivery of A/W stock arrives, the first floor will open as well (this is where the dressing rooms are hiding). I found a few items that'd suit my small-but-strong frame, but overall, Couture's clothing is a bit ostentatious for my liking, although it's evident the pieces are exquisite and well made. Couture indeed. The shop is tiny (much like the quirky dresses you'll see here), but thankfully you're not overcome with that claustrophobic feeling like when browsing other designer boutiques in the city, thanks to the austere interior and absence of unbounded clothing racks.

But I thought it was worth mentioning how much they all loved it. They have a great range of light summery dresses made with beautiful fabrics and patterns. My knowledge of dresses is somewhat limited by they had a huge collection of different styles and lengths. They also had amazing price tags attached, with some reading £10! I actually did wish they had such a great range of men's clothes, but alas we only had a choice of 'comedy' T-shirts that were not almost as classy or elegant as the woman's choices. I honestly believe any woman who had a look at some of the clothes at Newflower would find something they would really love, especially for the summer. They had a beautiful range of mini skirts...I thought about how they would look on me, but I think my bits might be visible, only slightly though. The fashion seems to range from 1930s up to the 1970s and beyond. They also had a good selection of flip flops and sandals.

They have an instore seamstress who can adjust the length of any jeans you purchase for an additional charge. They have a nice selection of clothing and accessories but only put a handful of smaller sizes out (size 8 or 10) and can bring out larger sizes if requested but for most women I'd imagine this is very off putting and some what embaressing. Prices are a mixture of reasonable and expensive but it is dependant on which brand your looking at. They range from around £100 down to as low as £20.

Knowing they stock Fenn Wright Mason I headed there to buy a gift for my mum's birthday just after Christmas. The sale was spectacular, I picked up a gorgeous printed dress for under £50 (reduced from over £150) and as a treat for being such a good daughter a Betty Jackson dress for £45. I had to be physically removed from a Nicole Farhi cardigan reduced all the way down to a quarter of it's RRP. One of my favourite shops for miles, the prices are just far too good for designer bargain hunters and the quality isn't compromised. I almost feel a pang of sadness recommending it to you in case you take all the bargains for yourself...

The store is wonderful if you are a larger lady looking for fashionable clothes. Sizes range from 14 up, however I find even the size 14 extremely generous. You can really grab some bargains in here at sale time so watch out for them. You can also get Tshirts and jumpers on permanent deals (2 for £20) The only problem I find with the clothes is that they stain easily - and the stains rarely come out. Also I find that with the blouses, nice as they are, they are often see through meaning you have to wear something underneath them. I would recommend you try anything on before buying. prices are quite reasonable and staff are friendly and helpful.

I am rarely able to find something that I want in this particular branch of Dorothy Perkins and find the staff awkward. They have a nice selection of gifts for the home, childrens, mens and womens clothing. They have a small selection of shoes which, unfortunately, do not come in a size 3?! If you telephone the store they are happy to put items to one side for you to collect the next day. If requested the staff will gift wrap your items and remove the prices which saves you a job! Generally the items are of a very high quality and the Fusion range offers particularily good value however the zips on dresses do tend to stick on seams and the sizes aren't consistent. I've had to return a few items because the zips were broken. Due to the lack of other quality womens clothing stores in Carmarthen items sell out quickly. The store occasionally appears a little messy but is generally well set out. There are regurally queues at the till, despite there being around 10 tills. During Christmas the queue becomes ridiculously long. A good selection of items but I'd only recommend shopping here if you need a few things and have the time to spare queuing.
