We were so excited to see that this place with "the largest cigar" selection in SC was on our way to our destination. I was less than impressed with the offered 3% discount with my Yelp check in. I was even less impressed when we got to the counter and they indicated that they do not take coupons and the 3% offered on Yelp "expired a long time ago". He reluctantly finally agreed to honor that whopping $2.25 discount. It was just about enough for us to walk out without buying anything. How cheap do you have to be to argue over a 3% discount? That doesn't even cover the tax. Not impressed with this establishment and will not be back. read more

Not impressed. Good billboard advertising on I85 but just another crowded strip mall cigar store with high prices and an owner/manager who was not that helpful. Can get much better deals online and better service. Wasted stop and missed opportunity. If you want to stay in business they could have offered better service and recommendations. read more

While they may have the largest walk in humidor in South Carolina, it behooves you to know what you are looking for as it pretty much a self service deal. I was driving to Charlotte from Atlanta and saw the sign so I pulled off the exit. While there are at least 5 billboard signs on the highway about this place, once you actually pull off exit 60 on 85N, there are no signs about which direction to turn. Thankfully, I had to get gas, so I pulled into a gas station and two of the natives to this area directed me to the store. When I got there, I was shocked to see people getting their checks cashed and a sort of mini mart as I thought the entire store would be a tobacco shop. Saturday afternoon about 1pm and the lady working the check cashing stand is also the person to ask any questions about cigar selections and let me tell you, the mini mart and check cashing stand are her main priority. Not to say she wouldn't be helpful, but that would leave those areas unattended. Thankfully there were four men in the humidor and two of them were very helpful in selecting a few things to bring to my friends at home. I've tried cigars before, but admittedly, am no cigar smoker but since some close friends do, I thought it was a great selection and was somewhat intimidate in my lack of knowledge. Since I'm no cigar smoker, I cant comment on if the prices are good or average or overpriced, but spent almost $36 dollars on 4 cigars. Its a huge huge selection. Where to start? This place is convenient to my home and has the best prices and selection around. Add to that the fantastic staff led by Dunkan Echevarria, whose knowledge of cigars, trends and what I like is amazing. Once they get to know you, you can ask "what is similar to XXX but a little less expensive?" You'll get more than one recommendation due to their huge, walk in humidor. Tobacco Plus does have a great selection, but it is not a cigar shop, so if you are looking for a place to enjoy your stogie, it's not here. The cigars hit all tastes and budgets, most priced fairly, some overpriced, a few pretty good deals in the mix as well. No service to speak of, but if you know what you are looking for or just want to browse, the layout is easy and all the cigars are priced. Smoke 'em if you got 'em! read more

Yelp says it closes at 7:30pm and the door says 7:00pm. Caught Smitha coming out the door and I explained we drove here to the disappointment of a locked door. She apologized explained they have requested that the hours be updated to no avail. She was very nice and re-opened the store for us. We were very grateful and purchased about 20 cigars. read more

They have the best and larger selection of cigars in the entire state of South Carolina. Most humidors around this area I have only a part selection and all the name brands but only one or two selections and each brand this place has the largest and most complete selection of major in cigars and boutiques. read more

I have patronized Tobacco Plus for years. Paul and his wife are reserved and quiet people, but very kind, and always make me feel welcome. This is not a cigar "shop", and it is not meant to be. What it IS, is the best selection of cigars that I have seen anywhere in the upstate, bar none. The cigars are always properly humidified, and consistently correct temperatures. Every cigar is clearly priced, and everything is in an orderly fashion. The cigars are priced better than most retail establishments in the area...and, I personally enjoy being able to browse at my leisure, without someone breathing down my neck. Yes, you will have to enjoy that stogie elsewhere, but if you are looking for a great selection, fairly priced and in superb condition, and are not afraid to shop by yourself, this is the place for you! read more

I was really impressed by their selection of cigars! They have a huge variety and a couple of novelty cigars. They didn't have as many accessories (cutters, styles of punches, humidifiers, etc) I would have liked. Staff was friendly at checkout but didn't really offer any recommendations or help finding a particular cigar. read more

Unfortunately I have to change my review of Tobacco Plus from 5 stars. After a very public and awkward attack by the owner on the former operations /sales manager, I continued to give this place a chance. However, it has gone down hill. Cigars that were once regularly stocked go weeks with empty boxes on the shelves. And today, the store randomly closed early, which I discovered after driving 30 miles to get there. There was not even a sign on the door indicating why it was closed - just the standard hours of operation sign indicating a closing time of 6pm on Saturday (this was at 5:10pm). I spent 50 bucks a week on cigars here, but it's time to go somewhere else. They need to run this place like a business and not on a whim. read more
