They had plenty of parking spots on both sides of the street and a woman at the Marina directed us across the street to the grey "Rentals" building. The attendant quickly handled the paperwork and gave us a walkthrough of the boat. As a first time wave boat driver (only pontoons previously), I particularly appreciated his attention to detail and his eagerness to answer any questions I had. We had a great day on the lake! The boat was well equipped with plenty of life jackets and sport accessories (tube, wake boards, surf boards, skis, etc). The lake itself was in great shape, with fairly minimal traffic for a holiday. The marina is easy access for anyone in the Coeur d'Alene area and well described as a "hidden gem". (We've rented on Lake Coeur d'Alene and Lake Pend Oreille previously - both great lakes, just a lot busier). This was our first time renting from Hayden Lake Marina and we'll definitely be doing so again. Tip: Be sure to confirm the checkout process with your attendant. When I came back there was no one at the rental building and it took a few minutes to figure out what to do.

We came with the intention to paddleboard but the water was a little choppy - in any case, even on a clear day, I'd recommend kayaking so you can go further out with more comfort. We…read morebrought our performance boat to Legend Performance Marine (LPM) to replace both 502 motors with Mercury factory remanufactured long blocks -- a $55,000 job. What followed was an absolute nightmare. The short version: * Massive delays, broken promises, and total lack of communication * Boat was promised by March -- work didn't even start until well after * First set of motors were "lost," requiring a second order * Paint job was done incorrectly -- twice * Lied about successful water test -- boat took on water the moment it was launched * Drain plug left out during attempted fix * Stereo system was stolen under LPM's care, and they didn't inform us -- only admitted it when we noticed it on the lake * Replaced high-end amp with used, low-quality junk * Canvas storage cover returned with a 3'x4' hole * Engines were never properly tuned and continued throwing codes * Demanded full payment for an unfinished and poorly executed job * Three years later, we're still dealing with issues from their work To make matters worse, Chad (the owner) is dishonest, evasive, and unqualified when it comes to tuning or performance diagnostics. He talks a big game but clearly lacks the expertise. Worst of all, he treats customers like a nuisance once he's been paid. Avoid Legend Performance Marine and any business associated with Chad. They cost us time, money, and trust. There are better -- and more honest -- options out there.

They said they would adjust our reservation to accommodate our travel time then without authorization tried to charge us for this time. So we went to the marina at the resort instead and they were 1000 times more pleasant, positive and the cost was much cheaper. I personally would rather support the small business but in this case the staff was far too negative and anti-service minded. I would never do business with them again. Then they tried to over charge us for a boat we didn't rent and an additional "admin" fee. Be aware.
