Shrimp chives fried dumpling, boiled cabbage and pork dumpling, chive and egg pancake
    Alicia L.

Really cute dumpling my place! It is a bit small so it gets crowded in there. The food is made so fresh and you can see the staff making dumplings. I also buy the frozen dumplings to take home. One of the best places for dumpling.

Another while in the wall dining option. Food is not cheap but worth it. Good portion sizes/lots of dumplings for the price! Food comes out quick. They do have some outside seating as well. Not a big place with ample seating if it gets busy.

Ordered a chive pancake that was served piping hot and goes great with vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil. It's a nice portion and packed full of chopped chives and egg. The chives and egg were mixed well, neither flavor overpowering the other and densely packed. It's a nice snack to have and quite a savory pancake. Not too busy in the mornings and service was very patient and fast. The interior is very simple with some art on white walls, easy to access seating, and overall calm interior looking out into the streets of Chinatown.

Wonderful family owned dumpling house looking a little bit like a kitchen/dinning room. Good price, great services and the star is the food. I had the dumplings and green pancake. Portion more than I could handle.

Food is average. Way over priced. You find these inside chinatown for better quality and pricing. Service is not great. I would skip this one.

Good if you like simple handmade dumplings. You can see all the ingredients inside as well. Flavor wise, it was nothing crazy.

Freshly handmade dumplings and can be ordered in soup form also (+1$). Only 4 stars bc I thought it was on the pricier side.

Today food is worth going to today because tomorrow you'll wonder why you didn't go yesterday. These are some of the best dumplings I've ever had in my life and I have tried hundreds of dumpling restaurants across the world. This is a must stop if you are in the Chinatown area of San Francisco. The tea eggs are very good here as well. All of the dumplings we tried were excellent and you can't go wrong with anything you order.

Great spot for dumplings of all varieties. We got the chicken and corn dumplings and the pork and cabbage pot stickers. I really liked the pot stickers, they were crisp but juicy inside. I did see that the dumplings were from the freezer instead of freshly made, so the price was a bit high for the quality. But overall it was a nice meal!

What an amazing hidden gem in Chinatown! You can see the dumplings ladies hand crafting these delicious creations. I got the Shrimp Chive & Egg Dumplings (12), Pork and Cabbage Dumpling(12), Chicken Pot Stickers (6) for around $40. This is as authentic of a dumpling spot as it can get. My favorite out of the three was actually the chicken pop stickers. They were pan fried to perfection. The vibes were also immaculate. Sitting outside and munching on dumplings while watching people live their everyday lives in Chinatown... a vibe! Also helps that the service was quick and amazing! Will definitely be back.

Delicious dumplings! Made fresh in house. Very simple spot, but super good. The potstickers were great. They take a bit of time as their hot plate setup space is limited (you can see them cooking), but once they're out, oh boy! They had bit of crunch on the outside, and the inside was nice and juicy. The filling was plentiful and tasty. The shrimp and chive egg filling was so good, very balanced to get a shrimp piece in every dumpling. The boiled dumplings were also really good. The dumpling skin was tender and the filling was flavorful. The pork and cabbage filling was great, always a classic go-to. The chicken and corn was also good. There's various sauces on the side for you to mix yourself. For a tiny spot, they do have a restroom and it was clean.

Small but clean place. Service was wonderful and owner (?) mixed dumpling sauce did us with aged vinegar/chili oil and was so yummy. Had chive pancake, shrimp soup dumpling and pork potstickers... so yummy., definitely will visit again when visiting SF

    Evan W.

Cozy dumpling spot in SF chinatown that gives off mom-and-pop vibes. The dumplings are a bit small but are very tasty, they have tons of variations on traditional recipes. I liked the corn dumplings with soup the most. There's a ground level and basement level for this seating. despite being seated in the basement, we were still attended to though the server wasn't always present on the basement floor. the restaurant uses paper plates and disposable utensils.

Coated with a rich and savory sauce that had a very slight kick. Tasty and flavorful but didn't blow me away -Shrimp fried rice (3/5): Big portion but a little too moist and needed more flavor and wok hei taste -Potstickers (3/5): Huge, juicy and crispy. We started with the escargot and milk bread, which was incredibly garlicky in the best way. The escargot itself had an almost mushroom-like texture, with subtle Asian influences, though it also reminded us of classic American garlic butter. Regardless, it was delicious and a great way to start the meal. The kumquat highball was probably our favorite drink of the night--refreshing, balanced, and full of bright citrus flavor. The oolong tea was good, although we've had better elsewhere. The Xinjiang lamb skewer was an interesting interpretation, almost like a flavorful meatball rather than a traditional skewer, but it worked well. Our favorite dish was the claypot rice with Chinese sausage and bacon. Every bite was packed with incredible flavor, and the combination of smoky, savory, and crispy textures made it an absolute standout. The special of the day, fried sole with fermented mustard greens, was also memorable. The fish itself was excellent, but the dish had two distinct personalities. The side coated in the sauce had deep, savory flavors that felt unmistakably Asian, while the top with the mustard greens had a surprisingly Western character--we even thought we detected dill. It was an unusual contrast, but an interesting one. The dessert was also an interesting take on the mango pudding - strawberry sorbet was a nice addition with the mango pudding with almond flakes and real strawberries. Overall, Four Kings delivers creative, memorable food in a vibrant setting. It's the kind of restaurant that takes familiar flavors in unexpected directions, and we're already looking forward to seeing what they come up with next.

Once they opened the doors we were seated immediately so the strategy paid off. The menu looked incredible across the board so we went in and tried almost everything. We ordered a ton for 2 people and had a lot to bring home. Here's the breakdown: Order these: Squab Liver Skewers: Rich and packed with flavor, a great way to start. I dont even like liver, but this was good! Typhoon Shelter Soft Shell Crab: Really well executed, would order again without hesitation. Salt and Pepper Tiger Prawns: Simple but done perfectly. Singaporean Chili Crab with Fried Milkbread: Delicious but one note here. The bread is a bit much and doesn't add a ton to the dish. This would be even better served over noodles to soak up all that chili crab sauce. HK Black Pepper Steak: So juicy and flavorful. One of the standouts of the night. XO Escargot with Milkbread: Another winner. Beef Chow Fun Noodles: Genuinely the best chow fun I've ever had. Do not skip this one. Mapo Spaghetti with Beef: A fun and unexpected combination that really works. Salt and pepper squid skewers: Packed with protein. Super flavorful! Yuzu Sake: The perfect drink pairing for this menu. Skip these: Chong Qing Fried Hawt Rabbit and Peruvian Chicken Fried Rice were the two misses of the night. Save your stomach space for everything else. The flavors here are exceptional and the service matched it perfectly. Will absolutely be back and already trying to figure out how to snag a reservation next time!

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant for 2025, it definitely felt like a special treat and lived up to the experience.
