Dr. Hamid has been my family dentist for 24 years and has been extremely professional and caring. His staff treat you like family. We are extremely confident that he would always have the most professional approach and knowledge to handle any issues with our dental care. His office and equipment is up to date. My husband and I travel from PR to get his care because we would not trust any one else, my kids and grand kids continue to go to his office for his professional care. AVOID THIS DENTIST: This review is being posted a bit late but the incident which I am about to write about occurred on 10/01/2022. I began seeing Dr. Hamid in 2019 as at the time I was looking for a new dentist and our initial interaction was good. However, in early 2021 Dr. Hamid's demeanor had changed, he no longer had a welcoming bedside manner. My mother (who has receding gums) began seeing him in 2020. I had warned my mother about this change but she insisted on seeing him for a dental cleaning as she was due for one. Upon the day of the appointment Dr. Hamid advised her that her gums were inflamed and rescheduled for an appointment at a later date. Although Dr. Hamid could not assist with my mother's gum condition he failed to refer her to a specialist. On 10/01/2022 my mother attended her rescheduled appointment (for which I was present) and had the worst experience with a dentist in her life. Dr. Hamid's body language was aggressive from the start as my mother requested gas which she requires to prevent pain. The doctor seemed inconvenienced by this request and had a noticeably tense and aggressive demeanor. Before attempting to shove the nozzle into her mouth, she asked if he could take a look at her gums before he began to perform the cleaning. At this point Dr. Hamid tossed the nozzle and hose to the side and tore open the packet which held his instruments in the most aggressive manner possible. He then proceeded to tell her to open her mouth and roughly inserted an extended mirror to look at her gums. He then said that her gums were still inflamed and that if he performed a cleaning that it would be painful and it would make the condition worse. My mother then asked why she was at that appointment if he knew that a cleaning would make her condition worse; he had no response to this question. My mother then declared that she was leaving as she did not like his manner. Now, I am not sure of what prompted the change in Dr. Hamid or if he was just very good at wearing a mask to hide his true persona. Either way, that mask fell and Dr. Hamid showed his true colors as rude and unprofessional. I don't understand how he has any patients at all with an attitude like his. This place has the absolutely most unprofessional/rude/unkind dental staff. I called to schedule an appointment and had insurance information in hand and was turned down for no reason saying you are not allowed to get dental care at this facility bc your not on "our list". I called my insurance and they said that this dentist was my primary care dentist assigned by my insurance company for the past 1 year so there shouldn't have been an issue. The lady on the phone was confrontational and rude. She obviously did not want to take the time to help out their patients over the phone. I immediately called my insurance to switch dentists, I would never want to get crucial/important health care needs from anybody in this facility. read more

NO STARS .....READ Very bad experience. STAY away. His new receptionists and he have no idea how to handle customers and especially those in great pain. I waited two weeks to see him while he was away on vacation. Great pain and in need of antibiotics after a root canal that had already failed once. He refused to speak to me on the phone and so I went and waited in his waiting room for 3.5 hours. Still, he refused to speak to me. When, finally his dental assistant allowed me into the back he refused to let me into a chair to take a look at my mouth. He started screaming at me that he couldn't touch a "hot tooth". He told me there were no clean rooms and I had to sit in a dirty one, which I did and then he started swinging around his over head light attempting to hit me with it. I was in total agony and stressed beyond anything that I should have been. He finally gave me a prescription for antibiotics and one for Oxy WHICH I didn't want. He loves to give drugs! I ended up at another dentist in the neighborhood who told me to get to a dental surgeon immediately as the tooth root had punctured my sinus cavity and was infecting that portion of my sinus. I eventually went to a great emergency dentist (finding a surgeon on a short notice was impossible) and had the tooth removed with tons of infected tissue and pain. NEVER see this man. IF you have another choice take it. He is violent, does shoddy work, lies and manipulates insurance companies and will forget who you are as soon as you walk out. NOT to mention that his receptionists sit behind the desk eating, talking on the phone, wearing revealing clothing, sloppy white socks and sandals with dirty nails and very unkempt hair. STAY AWAY. The only saving grace is the dental assistant who he also screams at! Many of these reviews on here are fake. Beware. read more

Dr. Hamid has been my dentist / cosmetic surgeon for over 15 years. Dr. Hamid has exceptional professional experience, incredible chair side manners and an amazing staff. I had my first Botox and Filler treatment with no pain, no swelling, no redness, no side affects at all. Results are amazing so far and I'm looking forward to my next Botox and Filler treatments. DO NOT COME HERE I never write yelp reviews but I came here twice and I will no longer come here again! I hope this place gets shut down. The first time should have been the last time for me. He used such a force while giving me a fill in which CRACKED WITHIN THE WEEK. i went back and he said he would fix it. He proceeded to "fix" the tooth dropped the tool on the floor and attempted to REUSE it!!! After I said absolutely NOT he then spoke so terribly of me with his wife in their native language. Dr. Tarek came recommended. However, he was horrible. I'm new to Brooklyn so I asked a friend for a referral. Before I came I let them know I had pain in my teeth and hadn't been to the dentist in over a year and I needed a full check up and a cleaning. When I saw the doctor, he didn't introduce himself, ask me what I wanted to do, show me the Xrays, nothing. Next thing I know he's sticking the numbing gel on my tooth and giving me an injection. The injection hurt so I asked him shouldn't he wait until the numbing gel works? He got offended and told me he's been doing it for 30 years. He left to go see another patient. When he comes back he starts the work. I ask him Dr. can you explain my X-Ray to me and tell me what you found. He reluctantly shows me the X-Ray and tells me what he found. Then I ask him what teeth he's working on and he indicates a front tooth even though I explained to him that another tooth also hurt and a piece of the cavity fell out. He got angry and said he now has to numb the other side. I told him how he didn't even explain to me what he's doing. He told me he can only do one tooth, no cleaning, and no cavities. I decided that I wasn't going back. He was rude, abrasive, condescending, and zero bedside manner. He's horrible. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Hamid for 20 years and I rely of him for all types of Dental care. He is highly adept in almost all forms of Dentistry and this means you only have to visit his office for everything from fillings to implants. He does root canals, crowns and bridges, gum treatments and most other forms of work, he even does braces. I never had braces, but I needed everything else over the years. I had a tooth whitening and Zoom procedure done here and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. I'm a coffee drinker and I wanted to remove the stains from my teeth and I did to treatment and saw fairly decent results. I was than charged over $1500 for work that was not done. I paid for the Zoom procedure out of pocket and my cleaning was covered by my insurance. I brought the bill to them and they said it was done in error and they can't not refund my insurance until they receive an actual check from my insurance. Imagine going in for a cleaning on the 31 March 2015 and getting billed $1500 in a bunch of work that was not done. Around 6 different procedures on different dates and mind you I only been here once and was basically forced to write a good review. If you want to be charged $1500 for a cleaning this is the perfect place to come. read more
