Her studio is located in the walk out basement of her house- with a cozy area with a fireplace that me and my husband were able to relax in while the baby pictures were being taken. My husband was able to finish his breakfast while we were hanging out, which was nice. I've quickly learned that it's difficult to make it out of the house with a brand new newborn, let alone ready for professional pictures! Glad that wan't necessary for our shoot. I was able to change and do my hair and make up there- with lots of time to spare. My husband and I were conveniently included in the last 15min of the shoot for some family pictures. So glad we got those! All in all, great experience! My mother and I went back yesterday to see the photos (most of them were a surprise!) and review the packages. She projects them on a screen so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the process. Ania was very helpful with the selections and editing options. I can tell she's very passionate about her work and really cares about the product she's producing. I can't wait to see the finished results!

I was even more comfortable with the fact that Ania is a nurse and was able to safely pose and comfort our baby girl. When we went to see the images she captured of our beautiful daughter, I was brought to tears! They were beautifully displayed on a large screen in a slideshow set to sweet music. She also designed beautiful birth announcements for us to be able to share the pictures with our friends and family. I highly recommend Ania Mikol Photography to anyone looking for pictures that capture such special times in their family's life, whether it's maternity, newborn, toddler, child, teen, family alike!

TLDR: John's photography in unposed moments left much to be desired, his timeliness and awareness…read morewere horrendous. Now, the details. John initially arrived for the day with seemingly no plan, he asked questions to the bridal party about what was next, and interrupted the flow of getting ready rather than blending in with the day as a photographer should. After stumbling through initial photos, the ceremony photos were poor quality, poorly lit, and entirely cut out the view which was the reason the couple chose the venue in the first place. Following the ceremony, John stood around talking with the bridal party during cocktail hour. It became clear as time went on that he did not have the schedule, if he did he would've asked everyone to start doing group photos. After personally rallying John, I asked if he had the shot list and schedule the bride had sent him. He pulled up his email and spent five minutes looking without ever finding it before wandering outside to where photos would be. Thankfully the day of coordinator was fantastic, I went to her and she had a copy of the shot list. However, she was not able to just pass that list off to John. He was fully unable to give direction and lead family and group photos, an essential part of a wedding day. The wedding coordinator had to stand with us directing photos based on the shot list, rather than being able to do her job and cocktail hour tasks. After fumbling through group photos, failing to direct the wedding party the entire time, we had hoped we were through the worst of it- we were wrong. During the reception a few of us ladies stepped into the bridal suite with the bride to fix an issue with her gown. He did not knock, he did not ask to come in, John simply opened the door and walked in, thankfully the bride was decent. He began talking to a clearly stressed out bride about how they needed to go do more photos because the light was great. Now, I LOVE a golden hour moment, but to walk into a bridal suite without permission & without knocking, was really the icing on the cake. John completely lacks the situational awareness, timeliness, and structure to be a professional wedding photographer. I have worked over 100 weddings in coordination and he was truly one of the least professional photographers I have ever had the displeasure of working with. He's getting 1 star from me because his posed portrait photos look good when the light was at its easiest to shoot with.
